  1. A young woman strode forwards. I volunteer. Interesting, mused the ennuller. Tell me, what are your computational capabilities? We have... somewhat of a job opening, I suppose you could call it.
  2. "Nogard, is this man your leader?" "Er," said Nogard. "No." "There you go!" said Selppaenip. You promised not to transform any of them into radioactive laser slugs unless we explicitly told you to, corrected the Ennuller. Although that is unlikely to happen. For now, we will practice something simple: resisting Narrative control. "Let us hope we all survive the aftermath..."
  3. So you are a computational core? asked the Ennuller with some interest. "Gale!" boomed Selppaenip. "Is this man your leader?" He gestured to the Great Wizard. A row of students peered back at her curiously. Students, said the Ennuller, this is Subversion. She is a Narrator who has volunteered herself to be practiced upon. Onyx blinked. "I... well I suppose I could..."
  4. The ennuller carried the orb inside the lab. What do you know about... yourself? he asked. Excellent, said the Ennuller. Follow me. He led Subversion through the hallways to a door labeled "TRAINING ROOMS." Onyx frowned. "I... cannot leave..." "I call Gail and Nogard to the stand!" boomed Selppaenip. @Halcyon The Only
  5. You madlads did it again A few ennullers were moving past, but the area seemed mostly empty. The ennuller walked down a couple of hallways to a room labeled "LABORATORY". At long last, time passed. Several hours later, an Ennuller came up to Subversion. We're ready for you. Onyx grimaced. "Makes sense, I suppose." Selppaenip cleared his throat. "As you can see, this evidence proves that the Great Wizard did not attempt to claim the Blades for his own gain. Furthermore, we will show that the Great Wizard was not even in command of our adventuring party!" He glanced to ... .
  6. Oh dear you folks set another record If anyone quoted me in there, let me know Certainly, said the ennuller calmly, leading 656 away. "Indeed," said Onyx with a frown, thoughtful. The ennuller tore a hole in reality and stepped through the Void to the Silent Halls.
  7. So, will you let me do my job? said the ennuller, looking pointedly at 656. "Well, I'm sending out a quester right now." The ennuller was fortunately able to project a field that protected him from the Ennulling 'radiation'.
  8. The Ennuller frowned. I don't quite understand what you're talking about. There were several Ennullers involved in that attempt- it was a joint effort by many from our consultant division- but none unusually powerful. "I am always here." The Ennuller picked up the sphere.
  9. I... do not suppose you can, not directly. The Ennuller blinked. The who? Onyx is speaking as a voice, he isn't actually there.
  10. Yes, said the Ennuller, taking in the orb. We... have come to recruit you.
  11. What do you want to happen? The cowt blushes and moots confusedly.
  12. The cowt looks quite hurt at this. If they exist in this so-called history, then why are they not in our database?
  13. So only memory, is what you are saying. "Very well," said the wind. "If you change your mind... I am always available to bargain." A cowt began to moot back excitedly.
  14. Those would likely make more sense as secondary axes, not primary axes- determining the different forms of the fundamental substances. What evidence do you have of that statement? "Worse is a matter of perspective. It will be altered to align to my will." "Well, I don't know French, so I suppose the point is moot." Bacon squinted at the illusion. "This is a game? Where is the other player?"
  15. Bacon peered at the disk. "Why, that doesn't look like a frisbee at all! In fact, its aerodynamic properties seem unsuitable for game-playing." "Yes, but if we are to be musketeers... the Three Musketeers were French, were they not?" I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about, said the ennuller loftily, turning to 656 to lead her away. "I take payment of your fate. A choice that you make, an event in your future. Perhaps even your ultimate end." I'm confuzzled. So proud of you guys!
  16. "Ah, so it is a game played with a disc? Is it like disc golf?" "You recall the book that Erif was searching for? The Book of Unwinding Thread?"
  17. "Alas," said Bacon, procuring also swirly hats with feathers in them, "I do not know French." Bacon cocked his head. "... how does one beat a game? Does you mean he is about to defeat his opponent?" No. Class will not start for another ten hours. The wind chuckled. "You want the best, hmm? How much are you willing to pay?" "Tull," said Onyx. "I have found you a quest." @SpiritOfWrath
  18. "Ah. The Scribe. That makes much more sense." "Ah. The Scribe. That makes much more sense." Bacon blinked, then became one. Bacon conjured muskets and horses for the four of them. The Ennuller gave her a look, then shook his head. "I do. Several, in fact, each of varying usefulness." @SpiritOfWrath, did Onyx give Tull the quest to find the lost page, or did I just think I did? "What is this 'Dark Souls' of which you speak?"
  19. "Indeed!" said the Bacons in unison. They looked at each other and laughed. The Ennuller blinked. I mean... I'm not sure. But he's... he's the former Witherlord! There are just some things you just don't do. "If nothing changes, no."
  20. The Ennuller raised his eyebrows. One dies not simply ask the former Witherlord such a question. "The Book is currently in the possession of Erif, who is being held in stasis in Onyx's realm." He received a response indicating that his response would be processed in 4-6 business days. "Wait, didn't you say your dragon turtle was da Scribe?"
  21. "Da Scribe? Who is that?" A top hat, flamboyantly decorated. He is no longer the Witherlord, thank goodness. That mantle has been banished beyond recovery. More fortunately, he has remained passive since then. The wind breathed a laugh. "I am in all places, hungry ones- not just this one. Now. Seeker of Evil. You have questions to ask of me?"
  22. "Alrighty," said Bacon, putting the egg in his hat.
