Working on a short story in my english class, would like some thoughts. Here's my incredibly rough outline copied from my google doc. I have a lot more details in my notebook, I just haven't typed them up yet =P
I could give y'all some context and stuff, but I think I'll just post the timeline and see what y'all think.
Spoiler1500 word max
Timeline:

1934- Blake Fulton Born1935- Jane Wright Born
1950- Jane killed at age 15
1954- John Wright Born
1960- Second Kill
1960- William confronts Fulton, accusing him of both murders. They fight, William shoots Fulton in the leg.1961- William goes to jail for attempted murder.
1976- William dies in prison at age 54
...
2015- Fulton caught at age 81 by John.

I'm really liking the Wheel of Time show so far.
only 2 episodes in (out of the three released so far)
but I think it's pretty good.
I agree with most of the changes made, and the ones I'm slightly annoyed by I can at least see why they did it.
I have one major complaint but its spoilers so I'll save it for later.
so yeah, first 2 episodes, solid 8.7/10

I believe I got them all; the last couple I might have missed a few words, but got most of them and the message. (Also, how representative is this of actual reading? I feel like I'm both faster and comprehend more when everything is onscreen at the same time, but I don't know if that's a thing.) (That being said, I'm still a slower reader these days, mostly because I get distracted :P)

Quote(Also, how representative is this of actual reading?
oh, not at all
for one, flashing words on the screen like that is a completely different style of reading. supposedly it helps you read faster, it activates slightly different areas of the brain or smthn. watched a whole video on a study done on it a while back. strange that so many people here think that they would read faster if it wasn't word by word though, the study I saw had the exact opposite results. I think there are even plugins and chrome extensions being made to convert on-screen text into a flashing format like that, to help students read lengthy text faster.
for two, all the different levels said almost the same thing, so our pattern-recognizing brains could easily piece together the basic meaning of it, even filling in entire words that we might've missed.
for three, the different levels used different words. to be fair, they kinda have to, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a test. But I think level 9 was actually slightly harder than 10 just because of the words they chose. different words take slightly different lengths of time to register in our brains. (those lengths being slightly different for everyone, probably varying based on how often we've seen those specific words used, so we'd recognize them slightly faster or slower in proportion to their rarity in our reading history.)
so yeah, its actually a horrible test of actual reading speed/comprehension, but it's still a (mildly) fun game =P

Yesterday was stormin awesome. so veterans day right, we all didn't have school. well, I def made the most of it.
- Decided to go to ihop with my friends in the morning. Ended up with way more friends going than originally planned, and ended up coing to this small cafe place that was better than ihop. We got 2 giant 18+ inch pancakes and shared them. Like, they were bigger than your average pizza, by a lot. We didn't finish.
- after breakfast, we went to this cool park that was like 40 min away with this giant rope tower thing. climbed all the way to the very heccin top. twice. now have a giant blister from rope burn. worth.
- Went home, chillaxed a while, played subnautica sub zero. good times
-
got asked to winfo! yaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!
So yeah, yesterday was p freakin fun. there's more details i kinda want to share but they either need too much context to make sense or are too specific and i dont wanna be doxxed.

Youtube is getting rid of the disike button counter.
I'm pissed.
This is legitimate pandering to the mega-corps who didn't like seeing their ads or product announcements or whatever being downvoted into oblivion.
And we have to deal with the consequences.
If youtube had like, any competition at all then it wouldn't really matter.
But they have a monopoly on internet video hosting.
So this is actually kinda really super bad. -
Shoot there was a 3rd thing i wanted to say and i cant remember what it is at all
agh
shoot
dang
...
mmmk whatever, I ain't remembering. POST!
