  1. I have to correct you on the Forgetting Talent. That one was a fake Talent made up by Biblioden to be hard to disprove.
  2. I got Edgedancer. I guess I think that they're pretty cool, and the description sounds fine, so I'll go with that.
  3. The guys who wrote the Saw movies did a script for The Way of Kings, so I'm looking forward to the added Lopen flashback scenes.
  4. Oh, nice. I thought it was likely she would get one, but I'm really happy it was confirmed.
  5. Brandon is now running a Magic tournament, and the Winners will be in Oathbringer. I'm not in it, because I don't play Magic, but I'm hanging around because my brother is there. EDIT: My brother asked for Pink Pinkness's power, and Brandon didn't have one. I asked if I could make something up and it would be canon. He said okay, so I said she could distort your vision so that you can only see pink things, and nothing else is visible to you. That's canon now. (It was a group effort, though.) EDIT 2: I asked him about the Weeping. By the end of the Weeping, all spheres are dun, so there's no Stormlight. This would have been a problem for the Radiants, so did they do anything special to get Stormlight. He said that with the information I have now, there would be weeks where they would be without Stormlight. I asked if the Highstorms and Weeping used to be different, with the bells of Kharbranth as evidence. He RAFOed me.
  6. Ash redirects to Scadrial, but Ash is also a major character in The Stormlight Archive. Should there be a disambiguation page?
  7. I always assumed that Ruin had altered Alendi's logbook to make Vin distrust Preservation when he showed up.
  8. The reading was cool! I didn't record it (I might have if I had space on my phone), but I'll give you the gist of it. Also, at the signing, he answered my question and my brother's question at the signing. Mine relates to the reading, while my brother's is about Reckoners. My question: My brother's question:
  9. I was with a group of people talking with Brandon for two hours in a hallway, and it was fantastic. A lot of what he said was awesome, and I retained some of it, but it would take some time to say it all specifically. Here are some random details. - Dalinar's wife isn't some minor character who's been mentioned somewhere else. She's someone completely new. - In one of the Interludes in Oathbringer, there's a character reading a bad romance novel, and he went nuts with the purple prose. - He hates the Hobbit movies. - His youngest son, Oliver, watches a ton of YouTube videos, and now believes that when you stop playing with something, you have to give the "Please like and subscribe" spiel, so he does that all the time. - He says the secret to approaching an editor is to ask them about what books they're editing, then pitch your own book at the end of the conversation. When he sold his first book, he spent three hours talking to the editor before he pitched his book at the end. - There are beta readers who are only just realizing in Oathbringer that Kaladin has depression. - His cat has a really long name. It starts with Pine Cone, and that's what they can the cat, but I think the full name is Pine Cone Neko Hello Kitty Chan Sparkle Oliver Sanderson. - I mentioned asking him about the Shardfork in the AMA, and he said, "Oh, so you're the Shardfork guy. You put that idea in my head." He said that he'll draw a fork in my copy of Arcanum Unbounded. - He said that foreshadowing is actually one of the easiest parts. His sweet spot for twists is 1/3 people guessing it ahead of time and most of the rest figuring it out on the page before. - Sixth of the Dusk is roughly 200 years after everything else in the Cosmere. - When working on Wheel of Time, he asked how Morgase was pronounced, and the two people he was talking to disagreed on how Robert Jordan pronounced it. Also, he had recordings of all the pronunciations sent to him, which he put on his iPod and shuffled with his songs. - He mentions fan theories and drawing the lines before fanservice when taking over The Wheel of Time. He mentioned that a lot of people wanted to see Narg, and he could have put him in there, but he didn't, obviously. But lots of people were asking about various things like sideways gateways, and he thought, "If 9 out of 10 fans are thinking about it, somebody in world should think about it." He gave my Shardfork as an example. - Sazed counting down the religions in The Hero of Ages wasn't originally there, but he added it to give the character a sense of progression. He says that negative progression can be as interesting as positive progression. - He finds Indian names difficult. - Another author, Kay Hawkins, showed up to give him a copy of her first book, The Stars Will Rise. She said that she met him earlier when she was going through a rough time, and now she's better and has her book out. All in all, it was great talking to him. He's really nice, and I would recommend. My brother is going to be there with people playing Magic with him tomorrow. I don't play Magic, but I'll be hanging around there.
  10. I'm there at Ad Astra, and it seems pretty cool. I was on a elevator, and Brandon was walking by. I said, "Hey," because I wanted to greet him or something. Then my mom screamed, "BRANDON SANDERSON!" (She hasn't even read any of his books until The Emperor's Soul just today on the drive.) I'm still feeling ridiculously embarrassed.
  11. I'm going there, and I'm really excited! I don't have any great Cosmeric questions, but I'm going to ask him to draw a fork in my copy of Arcanum Unbounded.
  12. Jasnah and Szeth. It sounds ridiculous, but I like it, for some reason. They'd have a lot to get over as well, which would mean a lot of character development to get to that point, though. Although that would make it more interesting.
  13. No, but I know his secret. The real Brandon was the friends we made along the way.
  14. Jasnah/Szeth (Jaszeth?) is the only reasonable pairing. Embrace it.
  15. Can confirm. Made the Reddit comment, finished Edgedancer last night, and my mind is still blown.
  16. I don't think it has to, but it might. It's fishy that so many Heralds were there, so we could easily get a POV from one of them. It could also possibly be Thaidakar.
  17. Eshonai, Jasnah, and Szeth are among the "ten main characters" of the series (unless Brandon changed them again since I was last aware), so maybe book four will have another one of them? The other seven are Kaladin, Shallan, Dalinar, Renarin, Lift, Shalash, and "Taln", I think. Kaladin and Shallan weren't there, so they're out. Dalinar was getting plastered, so unless Alespren really are a major plot point, he's probably out as well. Unless the "Lift doesn't age" theory is true, I'd say she's out as well, since she would have been six back then. (Although I did have a dream one time that Lift was at the feast, and she convinced the two Heralds talking with Elhokar to give her their supper.) Renarin was there, but since he's not much of a schemer, I don't think his POV could add much. Shalash was there at least recently to destroy her statue, and her POV could probably shed light on other stuff, so I'd consider her a good option. Unless there's a major plot twist, "Taln" wasn't there that night. However, a major plot twist concerning him does seem like a safe bet, so there's a chance he'll get one. Maybe not a strong chance. Gavilar for the fifth prologue also seems like a safe beat. Since the first two prologues are both "To (verb)", I wonder if Gavilar's would be "To Die". Then again, we could get a plot twist where he faked his death.
  18. I was just walking down the street, minding my own business, when Brandon suddenly fell from the sky, landing right in front of me. Apparently, he had forgotten all about our last meeting, and had no idea where his notes for the third Stormlight Archive book went. (That's why he had to change it to Oathbringer.) He was searching the sky, hoping to find them in a cloud. I returned the notes to him, and as thanks, he gave me his notes for The Lost Metal, for "safekeeping". Well, might as well spoil it all for you guys. Here goes. - The opening flashback chapter is Wax shooting the tail off of the dog, who turns out to be TenSoon. - Mister Suit wasn't actually killed in the explosion, just shrunk down to be three inches tall. Wax catches him and stuffs him in his pocket, but Wayne trades a shoelace for him. - The red Kandra want to destroy Scadrial to make way for a new Hyperspace Bypass. - The Southern Scadrians are actually evil, and invent fast food as a way of crippling the Northerners. - Wax gets arrested for drinking and Steeljumping. - Aradel sends the team to investigate the Southern Scadrians after they run out of boy toys and have to give him a girl toy will his Smiley Meal. - It's revealed that a year back, Wayne sold the theatre rights to his adventures with Wax and Marasi. Unfortunately, he sold them to Scadrial!Adam Sandler, so in the play Wayne is really fat and keeps getting hit in the nuts by coins, Marasi's entire character is "boobs" (and MeLaan somehow gets cast as her), Lessie farts whenever she gets shot, and Wax at one point has to drink his own urine to refill his steel. - Marasi's statistics are used to invent racial profiling. - Miles is resurrected by the metric god and changes his name to 1.60934 Kilometres. - Bloody Tan's brothers, Bloody Sin and Bloody Cos, come to kill Wax for revenge. They mistake a drawing of him for the real deal and capture it instead. - After finding Garlic Atium, Marasi realizes that the Ascendant Wario has arrived. - To draw out Telsin, Steris and Wayne pretend to be Game Show hosts, and tell her that she's won A BRAND NEW CAR! - Sazed gets split in two when Preservation tells Ruin, "I think we should see other Shards." - Nazh betrays Khriss and steals her Cosmeremobile, intending to deliver it to Hitler. She should have seen it coming, since his name is one letter off from Nazi. - Wayne invents moving pictures to get Ranette's sex tape, but ends up getting Wax and Steris's by mistake. - Marasi learns that the Southern Scadrians plan to destroy Elendel by dropping a giant cheese wheel on it. - MeLaan evacuates Elendel by using her abilities to convince everyone that the zombie apocalypse is coming. - The One-Eyed Spike Man is Asmodean, who wasn't killed, but was transported to the Cosmere. However, he gets killed right after showing up, meaning we are once again asking who killed Asmodean. - Wax, Marasi, Wayne, Steris, and MeLaan cover Elendel in dough and tomato sauce, so that instead of destroying it, the Southern Scadrians turn it into the world's largest pizza. - Allik captures Telsin and tortures her by burning a mask onto her face, completing her transformation into Darth Vader. - Trell is Honor before he's had his coffee. - Hoid gets abducted by aliens, but leaves behind his briefcase so that Wayne can become the new Hoid. - Marasi is Dalinar's wife. - Wax learns that his entire family is still alive, and they're all evil, since evil is House Ladrian's chief export. - Steris ends the civil war by selling model trains to everyone living outside of Elendel. - One third of the book is devoted to Marsh's epic romance with Sophi Tarscel. - The Set abduct Steries, asking for a small ransom of one million boxings. - The leader of the Set is revealed to be Ham's oracle head, furious that he was forgotten by history. - Aradel is actually just a parrot that everyone thought was a guy. - Wax goes to save Steris, but she's completely possessed by Trell, and he has to shoot and kill her. As he's grieving, MeLaan eats her bones so that Lord Harms won't know Steris is dead and attempt retaliation. - Bloody Cos and Bloody Sin get beaten up by the drawing of Wax. They warn the Set of it's power, and the Set flees to Nalthis in terror. - TenSoon is caught banging wolfhounds and neutered. - Marasi finishes off the remainder of Trell's forces with a spray bottle of Trell repellent. - MeLaan just gives up on clothes all together. Naked Steris in the Senate. - Wayne realizes that the only way to atone for his crimes is to go back in time and become the man he will eventually kill. His last words to Allriandre are, "I banged ur mom, lol." - With Wayne too dead to become the new Hoid, Marasi becomes the new Hoid instead. - House Tekial gets destroyed (again) by Odium, but he swears it was an accident. - Wax is so consumed by grief that he pushes Scadrial back closer to the Sun. - The book ends with Ghost Vin putting the world's largest bandage on Taln's Scar. And that's all! The last adventure of Wax and Wayne is a wild ride. I hope you're satisfied with this ending I've spoiled.
  19. A Metal band started by Szeth. They broke up when he became Truthless, but he got the band back together, and now their music is so bad that it's creating Trell.
  20. Mine. I meant to also ask if Nighthawk was an Epic, but I forgot about that one in the jumble of excitement.
  21. Lightflame was already taken there, so I did what I could. ....I should have asked if Dalinar's wife killed Asmodean.
  22. Confirmed! Aslydin is a member of the Seventeenth Shard! Ha! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! Feels great to call something. Also, Shardfork confirmed.
