Definitely this. I think a lot of time we focus on romantic relationships and the Eros type of Love when there are some many other relationships to explore.
-
So I'm guessing it has to do with Kaladin and Rysn(from the interlude chapters and the trading and the larkin that character)
-
When Roshone dies because Moash kills him too, and forces all of Hearthstone to accept that they need to move to Uritheru and Kaladin starts seeing Laral again... yeah its got to be Laral because even as a floating near demigod she is all like "you stabbed my floor"

So not to rain on any parade. But considering the relationships in this book with Dalinar marrying his dead brothers wife, Sabariel and Palona not being married, and a gay romance I dont think Divorce is out of the question. Not saying that is my prediction or that is what I want (it isn't), But Shallan is crazy and Brandon does like to have a full collection of situations it seems.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you look at aluminum foil and think "this would make great armor, and a hat!" -
Hey guys, I've been here almost exactly a month and in that time I've noticed that sometimes posts I put a lot of thought into get no reputation and others that I make quick little jokes in get a decent amount. Neither one of those statements are always true, and I dont post things just hoping that someone will press a button next to something I wrote. However I was wondering for you guys that have been here longer have you noticed a pattern of what does generate upvotes? Is it as simple as quoting stick from WoR? Does your reputation in the community make you more or less likely to get rep? What correlation have you guys seen?

Haha I wasnt being ironic and I will definately take this! I just meant I wish there was like one created by Brandon himself that would be awesome
-
I think I would be a Dustbringer... but I really wish there was some sort of test developed by brandon or something because I'm not sure.
-
First of all welcome!! So WoB stands for Word of Brandon and is something we kind of obsess on around here. They are things that Brandon has said in signings or other such environments in response to questions. TWoK is just the shorthand for The Way of Kings.

[OB] Next target for Moash, Hearthstone?
MonsterMetroid replied to MonsterMetroid's topic in Stormlight Archive
I expect Lirin to die somehow... I just dont see Kaladins family leaving hearthstone otherwise because he is so loyal to the people and I really feel like kaladins famliy will play a part in the next few books. -
I've been relistening to WoR and right when Moash and Graves are confronting Kaladin I noticed Kaladin says this: *The formating of the quote is probably way off since I typed it up from listening to the audio book I completely forgot that Kaladin told him about Roshone, I think this means that Moash will head to Hearthstone sometime in the next book and Kaladin will probably be there trying to get his family to leave for safety. From there who knows what happens, though if Moash kills Lirin... Thoughts?

[OB] Being Broken isn't a requirement to radiance
MonsterMetroid replied to MonsterMetroid's topic in Stormlight Archive
I actually really like this theory, children are oh so accepting of everything they see around them if a spren appeared and talked to young shallan I have no doubt she would trust it and open up to it. -

[OB] Being Broken isn't a requirement to radiance
MonsterMetroid replied to MonsterMetroid's topic in Stormlight Archive
Oh thats an interesting point... man what kind of craziness would that be if Shallan revived Pattern as a child and that's how she became a lightweaver... I dont know how she would have found a shardblade and kept it secret but that would be super interesting. -

Oh I noticed hahaha -
Has to be Dalinar, I mean I need to see more drunk spren!!
-
So maybe it is just me, but when Kate does the voice for Kaladin it really throws me off
-
The thing I like about Shallan is that when I come to her chapters it reminds me that it is 3 in the morning and I should probably go to bed.

[OB] Unpopular Opinion: Elhokar
MonsterMetroid replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in Stormlight Archive
This part of Elhokar always interested me because I feel like we are missing something here. I know Cryptics were viewing him but I wonder if there was also something else shadowy viewing him too. Gaz in WoK mentions how there is something lurking just out of his sight as well and he is super fearful and paranoid as well. Maybe an unmade? I guess I have never found this to be a big negative trait believing the best in your partner so this didnt bug me. But I just had a thought now that you pointed it out, this makes me wish he would have had a redemption arc and became a lightweaver. Imagine when Elhokar has to confront his truths. That Aesudan is a HORRIBLE person. That he was/is a unfit leader. But alas we will never see how he comes to terms with such realizations. :/ -
[OB] Unpopular Opinion: Elhokar
MonsterMetroid replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in Stormlight Archive
Very Interesting points OP. I do have a counter though. If we had read the series completely chronologically... Would Dalinar: the woman killer, the child murderer, the worst husband ever, etc have deserved redemption? I did not like Elhokar as a character but I did like his arc in Oathbringer. I saw he was trying, and he wanted to do better. He was starting to develop some compassion, and his growth as a character was exciting to me. Part of me really does wish I could have seen where it would have gone. That being said his death does add much more to the story than his life does.
