Sucking in more Stormlight, Aaric levitated slightly off the ground, letting the tip of the Honorblade drag in the dirt. Then he began to lash himself from side to side, and slowly a massive Aon began to take shape.

"Perfect, I've always wanted to try those ones," Aaric said, his Skybreaker Shardplate forming around him.

Hearing Lopen starting to scream, Aaric sucked in a few broams' worth of Stormlight as a precaution.

"Poor soul!" Aaric said. "You'll have to give them a try. They're cooked specifically to have little pockets that can be filled with syrups and creams to add to the flavor - truly a culinary masterpiece."

Aaric turned to Lopen. "Waffles are a delicious form of pastry native to Scadrial. Have you heard of them?"

Aaric stepped out of a nearby perpendicularity into the burning remains of the Alleyvillage, then sniffed. He smelled a sweet odor on the air, one he hadn't smelled in a long time. "Waffles?" he said, confused. Where had the waffles come from?

If I remember correctly, Defending Elysium references Earth while Firstborn doesn’t, and that could be another clue pointing towards the former rather than the latter. Please correct me if I’m wrong, though.

Thanks, you guys are the best!

Lightning seems closer to fire to me. Maybe that’s because of Avatar: The Last Airbender, though.

Also potentially a rundown of the the lesser-known Radiant abilities, what we know and what we don’t. (What do we know about Division, Cohesion, Abrasion, etc. The ones we don’t see on-screen a whole bunch.)

Why some people do not like Brandon's books
EddyJ replied to Darkwalker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
#4, unoriginal?? The man turns every fantasy trope there is on its head. Unoriginal (although still somewhat dear to my heart) is Eragon. Brandon's work, on the other hand, is the epitome of original modern fantasy imo. -
[OB] Renarin and Adolin (healing wrist scene)
EddyJ replied to Sun Maker's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, I think it’s an example of the way Lightweaving works for Truthwatchers. -
On a related tangent, does relativity affect time in the Cosmere? Does time run faster on Roshar because gravity is weaker than normal?
-
It’s an Aether.
-
I think so, mostly because pre-Nightwatcher Dalinar also hears similar screams including her voice. So it’s not such a stretch to imagine that the voices could come back in a different way.

A fabrial cookie maker: the culmination of everything the Alleyverse has achieved up until now.

I was reading this thread and my troll detection fabrial went haywire, so.....

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
EddyJ replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you're watching a TV series and you notice a "Daniel Blackthorne" in the credits. And all you can think about is Dalinar being a hilariously passive-agressive set director. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
EddyJ replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you're assigned to read a novel for humanities, and part of the way through the main character starts having hallucinations, and you start wondering how Investiture is affecting her mind.... -
Yep. Also the orange crystal in his lair in WoR is the Amberite Aether... it’s popped up a few times so far.

The Rithmatist is also a good, not-super-intense one.

The peoples of roshar being decended fron spren
EddyJ replied to Just another guyn's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I like the theory! Just for the record, Herdazian fingernails come from their Parshendi ancestry. I’m not sure about the source of some of the other variations you mentioned, though. -
Cool! Thanks!
