  1. Shallash is an Elantrian. (I guess there's about twently places where that doesn't work out, but whatever)
  2. Could you explain on that?
  3. Looks like the best I can bring is an unsourced quote from Coppermind: "Honor is commonly known on Roshar, as God, the Almighty, the creator of mankind." I feel like this is something we should know for certain, but I'm super tired so I don't feel like trying to spit through WoBs or something like that.
  4. How would that destabilize Honor and Cultivation? They knew about humans - they were humans themselves, before the Shattering. Also, I kind of assumed that Honor and Cultivation created humans on Roshar, or at the very least gave them sentience.
  5. Sel is often explicitly mentioned as hard to get away from. And we've seen Galladon in an interlude in WoK, so the timing probably doesn't match either, except if Elantrians can live for thousands for years.
  6. I don't think it has been made public, and I also don't think they've told anyone else.
  7. A very remarkable 20 11 years though. But no, I doubt it is Elantris; it seems like it is important to this story, and I agree that it is most likely either about humans arriving on Roshar and originally in Shinovar or about humans being the real problem. Or both.
  8. But do people need to choose the bond? Or, like Dalinar seems to do here, do they need to consciously choose not to go for it, and will they otherwise get 'sucked in', so to say, without ever realizing something is wrong? Eh, who?
  9. Or does it take more to Aimia, due to distance?
  10. I didn't realize, having joined only about a week ago... (I think in the weekend) I used up most of them on some meme threads I came across earlier today. Was a bad idea, in hindsight.
  11. And now I wish I hadn't used up my upvotes for today already...
  12. Eh. I can do better. How much do you think it would be, relative to the amount of stormlight required to work an Oathgate?
  13. Can I also drag in the yellow spren from Kaladin? Because I want to point out the differences between her and this one. She seems to be similar to other spren, maybe some minor differences (leading Listeners being the most obvious of course, but also the walking on stone etc), while this spren seems very different. Spren are pretty old (http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/4258-questions-for-seattle-signing-1014/?page=5#comment-68628, bottom of the post) and have, it appears, changed to be similar to one of the Shards, or maybe a mix between shards - we know for certain that some spren are of Honor (I imagine honorspren being the most obvious of those), some are of Cultivation (Wyndle and his kind?) and some are a mix of the two. We also know there are Odiumspren. It seems obvious that the spren we saw in this chapter - if we can even call it a spren - is a pure Odiumspren. However, I would argue that the yellow spren, if it is influenced by Odium (I actually also saw a nice theory about them being from Cultivation recently), then it is a mix between Odium and at least one of the two other Shards, as this spren just doesn't seem Odium-like enough. Sorry for potentially derailing the thread in the third post.
  14. Atomic decay releases quite a bit of energy compared to anything involving molecular bonds, though. Atoms pack a lot more energy than molecules. Oh, and ammonia isn't really common, it's just that it's super important for humanity and so we're making it in absolutely crazy amounts ever since we figured out it was possible a hundred years ago.
  15. Or maybe this was it, with how he was slaughtering his own guard after he killed that enemy Shardbearer.
  16. Maybe she could peer into Shadesmar for a bit?
  17. I like her. She's quickly starting to become one of my favorite characters, as much as that is possible with how much screentime she's getting, and I want more.
  18. The text can very well be a case of unreliable narrator; the chapter is written from Shallan's point of view, and therefore follows her view on things.
  19. Doubt they'll be breaking atomic bonds. That has a tendency to get quite... explosive. Also, it only works with elements heavier than iron. Molecular bonds, however... They are much, much easier to break and tend to be a lot less extreme.
  20. Like she doesn't already have enough going on... Poor Shallan.
  21. Eh. How often do you bother to even read the introduction/preface to a book? I can tell you I barely ever even bother.
  22. Ryshadium choose who they bond, though. You can't force them. So I doubt there's "a bunch ready to be bonded in a pasture somewhere". Pretty sure that Elhokar, for example, does not have one.
  23. Ah, thank you. I actually considered that myself too, but wouldn't musicspren then also be able to appear when there's a few 'domesticated' Rhysadium together? Dalinar and Adolin surely have one, and I could see there being more around, at least occasionally.
  24. As in, "heard"? Please tell me that I'm interpreting you wrong. I desperately don't want to be right.
  25. She has blade from her spren, at least, and for plate we don't yet know how it works. I think they went to Elhokar in the end though, wouldn't they? Or does he use Gavilar's old stuff?
