  1. I personally like to think that if you go to the Beyond, you go to a place where you get to have that which genuinely makes you happy. Call me sentimental if you want.
  2. I've been wondering about this as well. It would be really sneaky. Might very well be something we can't accurately guess beforehand though.
  3. (please note that spoilers will galore in later entries in this list) The black sphere is the Eye of the World. The black sphere is the cognitive manifestation of the Horn of Valere. The black sphere is part of the Stone. The black sphere is an artifact found in Rhuidean. The black sphere is what remained of the portal to Finnland. The black sphere is what spawned Shaidar Haran. The black sphere drew Sammael to Shadar Logoth. The black sphere is what caused Rand to go insane and kill his own army while fighting the Seanchan. The black sphere [ugh, someone beat me to this one]. The black sphere is the manifestation of the average reader's opinion on Crossroads of Shadow. The black sphere is all that remains of those 100 000 trollocs. The black sphere is a rock Rand found on Dragonmount. The black sphere is Rand's insanity, safely tucked away. The black sphere is the key to drilling a new Bore.
  4. Aren't the Aimians looking into the future in that blurb? Perhaps they thought Dalinar was going to fall. "There were those who could see farther than me who thought I had fallen."
  5. Uh. Yes.
  6. He planned to do The Lost Metal in autumn so he hasn't broken his schedule yet. He did push it back with the last State of the Sanderson though, but not since.
  7. There is. Which implicitly also means that it hasn't been brought there before, despite however long worldhopping has been going on.
  8. I don't think you can align crystals and Shards like that. Otherwise it could've been a very interesting theory.
  9. I'm actually unable to choose...
  10. Absence of evidence (us not having proof she is of Southern Scadrial culture) is not evidence of absence (her not having Southern Scadrial culture). At worst we're at "we don't know, but her ancestors were Southern Scadrial".
  11. I think you're underestimating Brandon. I don't doubt for a moment he'd be able to fake a throwaway RAFO for a question he'd expect to come at some point.
  12. I had a theory that should have failed because of it but I was too confident that, if Brandon were asked the question, he'd have RAFO'd it. Still sad.
  13. They probably will be even if this theory is true. Just because he's the leader doesn't mean he needs to be directly involved. That being said, Stormlight will get progressively more impact from other worlds, simply because it's a theme for the series (with the migrating and everything) and because, in Brandon's words, it's "a turning point" in the greater story of the Cosmere. I do believe Brandon tries to at least keep it mostly in the back five, however.
  14. It may not be the strongest piece of evidence, but it sure as hell isn't an argument against the theory.
  15. If you go up to the main Forums page the link should be at the right, I believe.
  16. I believe the similarity to Adonai is intentional, but it is also intentional that it's not the same. Furthermore, Adonalsium is an anagram of "a mind, a soul", which would fit very well with the theory that Adonalsium did not have a Vessel - in that case, he would have existed fully in the Cognitive Realm (mind) and Spiritual Realm (soul).
  17. Big problem: We see from Secret History that people can choose to move to the Beyond. If the Knights Radiant are aware Odium can torture them after death, then they should, realistically, be aware they can just choose to go Beyond.
  18. I like your theory that they're Rosharans @ReadAndFindOut, but with the caveat I've never read Sixth of the Dusk.
  19. I can certainly see that one. Don't think we can accurately guess things like that with the current information though. (not that it's gonna stop anyone here)
  20. "You know what? Let's make a god out of this random guy that at least some people here really don't like." Somehow I doubt that.
  21. Remember Hoid (or Frost?): "Rayse is what we made him be. And that is, unfortunately, what he wished to become." Clearly, giving him a Shard was intended. So this (which I read after replying to that first part) doesn't hold up either. Yes, as Hoid refused the Shard offered to him, and they knew what Rayse would become when given Odium. And Ati possibly got Ruin in the hopes of being able to contain him. Take into account that Brandon has said that he was one of the better Ruins there could have been. Presumably because Ati tried to reign the Shard in.
  22. Pedantic moment here, highspren is the name of the spren that bond Skybreakers. If you're talking about honorspren, highspren, cryptics, etc together you should use Radiant spren to avoid confusion.
  23. In the annotations, Brandon said "but Kelsier doesn't listen to me. He just does what he wants." It may sound weak, but as a fellow (amateur) writer, I can tell you that yes, such characters exist. In Kelsier's case, that means he will play a role in events and he will accomplish things you'd think impossible.
