  1. Deaths don't always happen when someone's life has reached a neat point where everything is just finished. Sometimes, people die just when they're about to do important things.
  2. Isn't Jasnah like ten years older than Elhokar though? Or at least like five or six?
  3. I'm not sure wheter you mean she does or does not seem too playful, but I don't see how that would matter for wheter or not she could be a Bondsmith spren. The Stormfather is quite stubborn, yet he also got bonded and even seems to have softened a little since.
  4. Only mostly dead? I like that.
  5. Already done.
  6. I think that Eshonai's flashbacks will complement Venli's character development. Also remember that she's been an explorer all her life, so there's probably quite a bit to uncover there. Additionally, she's been one of the leaders of the listeners during the war on the Shattered Plains (what's that war actually called by the way?), so there probably happened quite a bit of stuff there as well.
  7. I was like "noooooooooooooooo not interludes!" at this point... Still read them first though, and they were quite satisfying.
  8. Imagine how Kaladin's parents would react to that... Not only is he a Knight Radiant - a leader at that - but he also marries the queen of Alekhtar who also happens to be one of the most respected scholars in the world.
  9. @Pattern Dalinar's flashback shows that the Nightwatcher and Cultivation are two different beings. The Nightwatcher might very well be one of the Bondsmith spren still.
  10. I think that had more to do with them in general surviving, so to say. Kaladin had been wanting to use the 'blast' from saying the words that he got every time to kill the Fused, if I'm not mistaken.
  11. Basically, he just shows up everywhere and people want to know more about him. Also he's cryptic and people here like overanalyzing.
  12. Adolin? You mean Elhokar?
  13. Yeah, I couldn't talk about this without talking about Oathbringer. Here are my (very spoilery) thoughts on the matter. Also, Brandon has indeed said that there is a way to undo shattering.
  14. In Part 5 we see Dalinar managing to gather enough power (presumably through his bond with the Stormfather a.k.a. Honor's Cognitive Shadow?) to force Honor's Perpendicularity to manifest in Thaylen City. If he can gather that much power by saying an Ideal and defying Odium, then would it be possible for him to, however it may work, gather Honor's different splinters and actually take them all up together, thereby mending Honor's Splintering and becoming Honor? We know, after all, that Splintering can be undone. This may even be what Honor means with "Unite them", though I would argue that is open for debate, as we also know that Honor could barely/not at all see into the future, though of course Cultivation might have seen it happening. We did get a RAFO on that, after all.
  15. Oathpringer? Or is it supposed to be "[OB]"?
  16. Well, I read it as him wanting the answer... It's only a spoiler for the epigraphs anyways, but you know you're always at risk when you're in a part of the forum that doesn't require spoiler tags. If you want to be certain you're spoiler-free, don't go into Part 2 discussion until you've finished Part 2.
  17. I'd argue that not being able to say the words is actually very important in his character arc right now. Also, we know from the Szeth scenes that, for some people, it will take many years to progress through the Ideals all the way, if they even do so.
  18. He specifically asked after it, and additionally it is revealed in Part 2, so spoilers aren't needed.
  19. What was that line? I don't have the book here... It appears to have been a pact between the Shards to go to different planets and not interfere with one another.
  20. I think that's Brandon intentionally butchering the language to show that Renarin isn't sure how to call it.
  21. Regarding the Stormfather surviving the Recreance, I believe that one of the epigraphs in part 3 states that there was only one Bondsmith at that time, so he might simply not have been bonded. Personally, I figured that maybe that giant spren that we saw in an interlude is the 'third' Bondsmith spren, and went mad or something like that due to being the one that was bonded during the Recreance.
  22. Once Ramza1890 comes across here (purposefully not tagging by the way), I want to apologize for giving the teaser "At some point, Kaladin explicitly hopes Elhokar will at some point say the First Ideal." You were so excited I actually felt kinda bad afterwards...
  23. Lucky you... I have to share the book with my mother and my brother (and eventually my father) and because I live 100 km away they didn't allow me to take it with me... Right now the only books I got close that are written by Brandon Sanderson are the last three Wheel of Time books... I really should start buying Brandon's books for myself...
  24. Uh, you're right lol. Apparently I had my timelines messed up.
  25. No, Jasnah is the new monarch. I also got that wrong the first time I read it.
