  1. Where does this information come from? Never heard that before but a lot of WOBs slip by me.
  2. For some reason if anyone were to pick up the shard of Odium... I hope it would be Szeth. I can’t put a real reason into words... just seems fitting.
  3. This is certainly plausible. I won’t say likely, yet. But there is definitely something to the spren and mechanics of fabrials that our heroes are getting wrong and i suspect it’s tied in to why the Sibling “went to sleep” in the first place.
  4. I think a Sleepless is the most likely as protecting and respecting spren seem a part of their function. But when I read Sja-anat in the options.... that’s an interesting idea!
  5. The way he basically went catatonic when his Stormlight ran out seemed almost like shock. As in his system doesn’t work well without it anymore. I’m sure Moash didn’t help but I don’t think Moash’s words elicited that response. I think it was physical. And I stand by what I said earlier in this thread... his time with the surgeons is a way for him to not need Stormlight so he can “detox” for a while.
  6. Been a member here for years and never looked at this board. But this is exactly what I needed today. Started a new medicine and not liking how it makes me feel. Like the smallest little issue just hangs with me and drags me down and I can’t get past it. It does make my anxiety better though. So an evil catch 22.
  7. This is an epic topic and I hope it gets the attention it deserves. I’ve given it a little thought before now but haven’t come to any definite belief on my part other than it’s definitely plausible. Teft and his addiction issues being in a position so close to Kaladin also raises the plausibility of this to me. Simply due to the fact that those interactions and discussions are so easy to imagine and potentially dramatic interventions. Also it’s a possible explanation for what Kal is doing with the surgeons instead of being in the field later in the book... something constructive to do while “detoxing”?
  8. Since Roshar seem on the verge of dabbling with the metallic arts...Kaladin just needs to figure out f electrum. Use that depression a little differently.

Found it somewhere. Far corner of the internet lol.

@Karger where is that at? Can’t recall if I’ve heard it yet and don’t see it.
  11. Calling it: Shallan dies in RoW. And creates the spiritual cracks for Adolin to become a KR. No idea why I think this. Maybe because I still feel her and Jasnah crowd that character style? The mentor usually gets offed but I cannot see Brandon being so run off the mill trop-ish. Not after killing one monarch if Alethkar already and promoting Jasnah to Queen. I just feel like some established KR has to exhibit mortality.
  12. @GreyPilgrim from what I’ve seen the only way to get it before RoW is released is through the Kickstarter. I’m sure it will be available in a more regular way at some point. But not before.
  13. I voiced this exact thought somewhere on here a year or 2 ago.
  14. Y’all have covered the Allomancy tie ins fairly well. So I’ll move on to another thing that jumps out at me. If the Ghostbloods are supposed to be a major theme in this book, how is Shallan going to have time to deal with them AND go on a journey to Shadesmar? Obviously maybe they won’t have to do as much traveling as in OB... but it still seems like an arc that major would take a lot of on screen time. I’m feeling like maybe the Ghostbloods aren’t going to be that big of a thing as quickly as they’re unraveling.
  15. Does the blade of that sword look transparent? I swear you can see the lines from his clothing right through the blade. edit: never mind. Enlarged from a different source and the better quality made me disagree with myself lol.
  16. Another reason this is completely impractical... Kaladin wants to protect the vast majority of the Singers while Jasnah voices the need for total genocide. That’s a fairly big gap in values to overcome lmao.
  17. @Oversleep I really posted this hoping to be proven wrong lol. And I’m not complaining. I’ll enjoy the ride. Honestly I should never have gone down the rabbit hole of putting a number to it. Once I did the idea of 25 years numbed me a bit. But it’s going to be a long. Drawn out. Teasingly enjoyable and excruciating journey. Happy to have this community to enjoy it with.
  18. Lol good point. Maybe the will of the bonded Bondsmith of the Sibling is enough of a guiding force to be the “mind” of the tower? Then the Sibling is free to be a carefree spirit like Syl. Actually maybe that’s more fitting.
  19. Sibling equals brain? That way you have the physical skeleton in the tower, the gemstone pillar for the heart. The strata first the veins. And the spren for the mind or brain.
  20. Lol it’s not exact. With the disruption for the WoT finishing project and him possibly doing the final Mistborn trilogy faster than the same amount of SA books would take. Maybe closer to 20?
  21. Just did some quick math using the general pattern of time between releases that Brandon has used so far. I wanted some of you people to check my math. I won’t give the numbers I used so as not to skew results. But I came to the conclusion that it’s possible to be around 25 years from now when we get book 10 of the Stormlight Archive. And I can’t decide whether to laugh or cry.
  22. At first I assumed the orange cubes were spren. But after a longer study, they look like part of that column behind her? Do they fit the description of any spren we’ve heard before? The corrupted spren make that harder to be sure of I realize.
  23. Nice colors. Adolin looks.... more delicate than i imagined. Probably just because I embrace the badass side of him more than the dandy side lol. I like it overall. Probably my favorite honestly. More of a fantasy feel to it.
  24. I think this viewpoint, if true, would make me feel completely and utterly betrayed lol. Also an extremely effective narrative for the storyline. The betrayal Kaladin would feel from Leshwi whom he has respect for.
  25. I want to see this. I really do. But I just can’t believe that their personalities do anything but clash. Stone and passion. Stoicism and anger. Kaladin needs sympathy and encouragement and understanding. And I can’t see Jasnah as anything but the “get it together and handle your business” type. Definitely different love languages there lol. I don’t think they would be good for each other.... and now I’m looking over my shoulder for my ex wife thinking about this!
