Let's continue this after Araris' flip, because my suspicion hinges on it. You didn't serious expect to make it through the forests of Threnody without encountering any shade, did you? :P. Can confirm. ^ that Theoretically, it's a good strategy, but in practice it's not very fun so let's compromise. If you want, shoot me a PM and try to be as anonymous as possible. That way if someone reads it with a Hidden Transcript, they won't be able to tell who told me the information. I'd suggest EITHER tell me something important like you have a crossbow/ you've got some items you're interested in passing OR who you plan to scan tonight. The latter is for accountability, to avoid doubling up, and to make it awkward for anyone thinking of submitting a night kill. If you say both, you risk being identifiable to spies. I think my suspicions are well known, so telling you who to scan isn't really necessary. Use your best judgement and hopefully we'll end up scanning pretty much everyone between us.

Apologies for the late switch. Last Day was a unique opportunity for me because once Araris was convinced to, everyone voted. It gave me the chance to definitively prove that I am… Professor William Dyer! (Note the extra vote on Szeth.) That’s my third time out of four LGs where I’ve ended up with the confirmed good role, which is hilarious. Unsolicited, I told Gears about it on D1. He agreed to participate in a scheme with me so I could prove my role to him. He pretended to secretly vote for Flyingbooks, while I came up with an excuse to also vote for him and doubled my vote. I suspect Gears took the opportunity to submit a Scribe write-up, but we never discussed his role or items. I got blindsided when he was killed, and told Quinn and Illwei my role on D2. Mat spied on the latter PM and also found out. And when Ashbringer came out as Silence, I told him too. I believe that between Mat’s probable evil alignment and the possibility of PM spying, my role has reached the elim doc by now. Therefore, it makes sense to reveal myself now so we can take advantage of my guaranteed alignment. I’ll likely be an NK target and if I survive, Danforth will probably try to move my double votes to the elims’ advantage, and I’ve planned accordingly. I wish there was a good way to RP this reveal, but instead, how about some mad libs? * SNOOPS’ TRAVEL DIARY: THE FORREST OF DREAMS: DAY 44 What's the best thing to have on a cold, snowy day? Some scorching hot tea, and holy shades, do I have a lot of it to share today. A VONNE CALLING: Just this afternoon, VONNE tried desperately to trade me his Hoid for a tiny mask I found in the nearby ruin. Of course, I glided him away; these things are collectable! Where’d he get a Hoid anyway? ON DE-FENCE: That aloof half-giant QUINTUS, whose terminal indecisiveness led them to not even vote today, has apparently been bridging about every morning to, “repair the barriers and safeguards that prevent Shade incursions,” according to a heresy source that I’m hardly inclined to trust. Sounds more like a crazy man sneaking away to fool around with his crab thingies to me! DOESN’T DOZE: “I… sleep less,” admitted PHILICO in a recent interview. The reason for his shady insomnia? “I’ve been digging with my crossbow at night!” DUKE AND (UNDER)COVER: FALEAST, who loyal readers will recall is likely the exiled DUKE OF GREYLOFT, was nowhere to be found last night. After putting on my investigation disguise, which is an important and legitimate part of any reporter’s toolkit, while searching his tent for him, I happened to find an unusual fire, carelessly left inside of a locked chest, just begging to be discovered. I’ll ask him tomorrow how he plans to green with it to reclaim his hereditary fiefdom. Stay tuned! TRICKSY HABITSES: A trusted source tells me that every day before our group betrayal practice, FADE buries his sword so no one will touch it while he’s out. How sneaky! PROFES-SWORE: WILLIAM DYER was confused yesterday to find his supply of note-taking paper and lockets was almost completely depleted. “I’m silver! I swear I brought enough to make a year’s worth of expedition notes.” When asked for comment, all PROFESSOR ‘PAPER THIEF’ LENN would say was, “no comment!” before melting away from me guiltily. On an editorial note, I intend to ship this ream of diary entries back to my publisher as soon as fabled couriering can be arranged. If this is the last you hear from me for a while, defenestrate not! Mail is hard to arrange in the FORREST OF DREAMS, but Snoops always finds a way to bring the identity to my lovely readers. -Sally 'Snoops' Starlingo

N1, I expect someone else submitted the kill because it would be reasonable to expect Quinn to scan you. N2 you weren't suspected as much, and e!Mat definitely was by Jondesu. It could be that our of your active teammates, Mat was more likely yo be scanned, another has the more valuable Danforth role, and another wasn't on. It's weird that there wasn't an NK. It's weird that you delayed stating your N1 action for a while. And there were ways of giving forewarning of your kill, such as by PMing someone at the last second. @Elandera @PizzaPower55 There may be an easier way of solving this. (Although I respect e!Araris doing his due diligence to fight the exe.) GMs, would Discover the Hidden (action scan) differentiate between a crossbow kill and an NK? The nice thing about this situation is it blindsided everyone. I expect the elims are now bussing, so we have the first two rounds to rely on as the most AI posts when it comes to people's connections to Araris. I can imagine a scenario where Araris is under pressure for something fairly easy to fight, so you decide not to D1 bus and instead make good arguments for your teammate. To clarify, a few more people Nulled him, but you're the only one who actually called him village. It's semantic, so I'm sussing people who Nulled too, like Szeth. If Ashbringer wasn't Silence, I'd sus him too for a pretty hedgey post on Araris. From your first question, basically who we voting, boys, you seemed ready to sheep the consensus. And then... didn't. That felt odd.

Well that was fortunate! I believe Araris submitted the NK because he didn’t warn Ashbringer of his plans, which I would have expected a villager Crossbowman to do. Evidently the elim team believed that he was the least likely to be scanned of the teammates who were available to submit, which is interesting. I suggest we use our remaining time to figure out the rest of the elim team, as there’s unlikely to be much opposition to the current exe. Assuming Araris is evil, the following is true: Archer - VILLAGE: My GM PM says so Ashbringer – VILLAGE: Silence, suggested scan of Araris PizzaPower – VILLAGE: Reported Araris’ kill Quintessential – VILLAGE: Aggressively tried to exe Araris D1 Araris Valerian – ELIM: Killed Illwei This Page Five Notable Quotable has become relevant: Azmine directs suspicion towards Araris, while Szeth seems reluctant to vote for them. Azmine_king - Villagey Szeth_Pancakes - Sus Another Page Fiver of note: Dannex: Sus, for watering down evaluation of Araris Now, let’s look at Page Six, when Mat was the only person to village read Araris with the post: Matrim’s Dice: Sus for defending Araris Jondesu – Villagey, if Mat flips elim, because they’ve been at each other’s throats all game If Mat and Szeth are elims, Vonnegut’s D1 suspicions of them and vote for Szeth D1 look good. Vonnegut - Villagey In that light, the Randby CC also looks like a push to save Szeth, who had two votes near the end of the day, and/or Dannex, who did too. But one of those was from Araris, so I’m downgrading my suspicion of Dannex. Dannex - Null Flyingbooks – Null, due to lack of information I’d like to exe Araris, Mat, Szeth, and Dannex, in that order. By the way, last night I scanned Flyingbooks and found that they scanned someone. Nothing newsworthy there.

SNOOPS’ TRAVEL DIARY: THE FORREST OF DREAMS: DAY 43 My hands shake as I write this. Two men were killed this week, so I took it upon myself to organize their funeral parties. Apologies to my editor for my terrible handwriting; I’m jotting notes while shaking and shimmying on the dance floor! INFESTIGATION: Remember those massive cockroaches that ate my rations I told you of a week ago? I saw PHILICO feeding one of them earlier! Is he keeping them as pets, or is he just bonkers? Either way, it’s bugging me! ALTITUDE ATTITDE: QUINTUS has done it again. The hangry hulk was quite defensive when I quizzed them about their morning meet-up with one of the young ladies of the group. Maybe it’s the exertion, but I swear I made VONNE blush when I mentioned his name. Both of them deny it all, but regular readers know that that always means we’re on to something! A WHALETHY MAN: How does PROFESSOR LENN moisturize their hair in this dry mountain air? The secret is a teaspoon of whale blubber run through their luscious locks every morning! (I knew they smelled fishy!) SHADY BUISNESS: When walking, FALEAST caries a silver signet ring in the pocket over his heart. He slips it on at night “to keep the Shades away” but refuses to let me inspect it. Could it be a sign of concealed royal blood? Or are they a member of a wealthy urban gang? There’s only one way to find out. But do I have the courage to go that route? Never let it be said that Snoops does not do their duty as a reporter. For you, dear readers, I’ll have a hot tale to tell tomorrow! Stay tuned. -Sally ‘Snoops’ Starlingo *** We’ve filled out our list of N1 action claims. I’ve ordered them by best to worst alibi. Araris and Flyingbooks are so low because their claims were late; they could have used publicly available information to craft a lie: Matrim's Dice – Scanned Jondesu Jondesu – Scanned Mat Vonnegut – Nothing, as scanned by me Archer – Scanned Vonnegut Quintessential – Scanned Szeth taking an action Szeth_Pancakes – took action seen by Quinn Ashbringer – Used Silence ability Illwei – nothing (same) Flyingbooks – Scanned Illwei doing nothing Araris – Scanned Quinn Azmine_king – Nothing (didn’t realize they could act) Dannex – Nothing (forgot while camping) Pizza – [I’m guessing did nothing] A few people have said they’re interested in scanning Ash tonight, which is understandable. However, I’d caution against having too many people do it. Simply put, it’s an easy action to fake; there’s a good chance they will self-protect, so elims can easily submit the NK and claim to have spied on Ash, already knowing the result. If the elims choose their scan choices, they can also set up something where two of them pretend to scan each other. That’s why having a chain system assigned by Ash works best; it’s harder to hack. We then report in PMs to Ash what we got, to avoid people basing their lies on what other people say. Regarding the Jondesu thing, it felt mostly like people moving because they didn't think they were on the right track. I actually give Flyingbooks credit for coming in late and pushing a village wagon. It seems like bad timing for an elim not under pressure just to pad the margins.

I believe Ashbringer is Silence. Their hesitation to reveal what they did last night seemed suspicious... until they revealed their role. They can self protect, so I suggest we assume they're village and have them coordinate our scans tonight. If Ashbringer decides who scans who, the elims can't pretend to scan each other and conceal their night kill. I didn't think through my Jondesu vote very much. I just needed to move and thought at the very least it'd tell us something about Mat. I don't fault them for hiding their extra life, they didn't look about to be killed until the last second. I spied on a PM this round. It was hilarious, but not very revealing.

Did you take an action last night? I assumed you didn't because you didn't PM, but that in retrospect, that's probably wrong innit. If we can get everyone's action claims, it narrows down who submitted the NK to those who can't show they did something, as that takes an action Quick chaos edit: Ash

The following is a joke: BIG BRAIN TIME. We have two sure-fire ways of catching an elim: we know for a fact that someone Illwei voted on D1 is an elim. We also know that the bottom of Ash’s list is village, but their second or third prediction will be right. Illwei voted for Quinn, Azmine, and Dannex. Ash’s second and third choices are Quinn and Araris. Therefore, it’s obvious that Quinn is an elim! * It’s possible that the elim missed this, but Gears cast a secret vote D1, meaning they could not have also submitted the Scribe note. Regardless, Ash seems to think they were the Scribe who made the posted RP, and I believe there’s enough mutual affection between the two of them that Ashbringer would have held off NKing Gears. In our PM, Gears told me D1 that they wanted to keep Ash alive because he liked his RP. In conclusion, if you’re evil, Ash, shame on you. :P. Given my main suspicion was based around something that’s not there, I think I’ll soft village read Ash for now and look for elims elsewhere. I didn’t expect Pizza to actually reveal their role, but that’s cool. It appears this game has vanillas, even ones without items. I’m going to make the working assumption that they’re village. Sidenote: If the elims have a mask, we’re in trouble, because they can just have their teammate with a mask submit the kill every time and be unscannable. If the GMs went light on item distribution, I’m leaning towards thinking that the elims probably don’t have a mask among them. Or maybe they do and we’re packing more heat elsewhere, like having a crossbow. As for the reactions to the Randby CW, Illwei at least said they’d be willing to vote for someone else, and was brainstorming options. Whereas Ashbringer tried to spin it as an info kill: “And even if RandBy doesn't flip Elim, people supporting/not supporting the exe is a decent amount of info to start, especially with a lot of night scans.” Right now I’m side-eying a Araris-Ashbringer team because looking at the end of D1, they were pretty in sync. Yes, I know I just village read Ashbringer, but right now my suspect pool is Jondesu, Szeth, Flyingbooks, and Dannex because I’ve been crossing everyone else off my list. There’s no way that’s right. I disagree with all of Dannex's elim reads, so that's interesting. Weird they elim-read Illwei and not Ashbringer, odd they elim-read Azmine over not taking night actions when they themselves didn't either. (I assume you didn't because you were camping?) Here’s what we have for night action claims that I can remember off the top of my head. It’d be great if we could fill this in: Vonnegut – Nothing, as scanned by me Archer – Scanned Vonnegut Quintessential – Scanned Szeth taking an action Szeth_Pancakes – took action seen by Quinn Matrim's Dice – Scanned Jondesu Jondesu – Scanned Mat Azmine_king – Nothing (didn’t realize they could act) Illwei – nothing (same) Araris - Dannex - Flyingbooks - Ashbringer – Pizza –

Do you want to share your role/item inventory? If you were on an elim team, what would you have thought about when deciding who to kill last night? You only get half village points for that because I can imagine a scenario where you have the Elim doc so off topic that you all forgot about scans. (Also, whoever submitted the kill has to cover for their action somehow, so we can't clear everyone who forgets. But I'm still village reading Illwei) New theory: the Gears kill was to stop the rules guy from reminding everyone of important things. Well played, elims Edit: also, Random tinfoil, maybe Flyingbooks talked about scans last night as a bluff so people wouldn't target them with a scan so they could submit the kill!

I scanned Vonnegut last night and found they had submitted no action. I PMed them offering to trade the results of our scans (not yet revealing who I'd targeted) and they just got back to me saying they missed the fact that anyone could scan and hadn't done anything at all. That's a pretty villager thing to miss, and honest too. I know we're village reading a lot of people for basically incompetence, but hey, surely scans would be a thing the elims would have talked about, right? I think I'll throw a vote on Pizza.

Speaking of crossbows, if Elandera and TUO decided to keep it in the game, we're all assuming it'd go to a villager, right? So between the Professor, the crossbow holder, and Silence, we may have three people we can mechanically clear. Maybe if things go badly and we enter C3 with a 7:4 ratio, we could have them come forward and rule three people out? With village reads to supplement them, that dramatically narrows the field of suspects. The only catch is I'm not sure we hit a high enough threshold for the crossbow to be included.

Someone remind me to start responding to posts before the old threads are locked. How am I simultaneously "playing high visibility" and "flying under the radar"? -Ashbringer As was said, you’ve the fifth highest post count, but in C1, the only evaluations you made were sussing Araris and poking Randby. It seems like an elim play to actively engage in the conversation without making enemies or being memorable. (Case in point, Quinn thinking you were inactive.) I'm curious to see who you think killed Gears, and if you've got any more reads. Szeth only had the most votes when they were tied with me and Dannex. e!Vonne could easily have felt that e!Szeth was safe and that the vote was worth it for distancing. -Quinn “Most votes” equalled two for most of C1, any vote is one random gut read from a villager away from being troublesome. I think the elims would have tried to avoid voting for each other D1, especially once a lot of people had one vote on them. What are the notable quotables for? -Quinn Besides reads, those were the most potentially revealing statements from the round. In that case, Archer, I would point out that while Araris is known for sticking to his guns, he's also known for CCing. -Quinn Fair enough. I’m leaning village on Araris right now because they posted some reads this round, though if they only stab this game, I’ll be sus. This suggestion might be a bit too late to matter tonight, but I recommend that most of us should use Discover the Hidden spread across many targets so that we have a good chance of catching the elims in the act. -Flyingbooks ^ this. I assumed everyone would do this, but in case you missed it, we have a good chance of catching elims by action scanning at night when one of them is submitting the kill. At the very least, if you find someone doing something else, we can use process of elimination to narrow down our suspect pool. We have a confirmed good role in the game, we could probably coordinate through them if they feel like revealing themselves. Silence could protect them, if this game genuinely has a bodyguard role. *glares at former GM Mat* I’m not one for retribution votes, but Mat feels like he’s reaching. Matrim’s Dice -Jondesu I have decided that Jondesu and Mat are not e-e. They’ve been at each others’ throats too much. Which means I believe their scans. Vil slip accepted, welcome to towncore.-Illwei Agreed. I’ll join team v!Azmine. We also know they aren't Danforth now. As for the Gears kill, they survived the last QF and MR, and they’re a hard guy to mis-exe and can be scary with their ISOs. I had them fourth on my list of predicted kills. Their death indicates this game had more than one scribe, as they used their action D1 to submit a secret vote, not a note for publication. That's interesting, because Randby's flip revealed we do have vanillas, although everyone appears to have one item.

Long summary post, with some light analysis, for those who like raw data: Conclusions Obviously, the late-Day vote shift takes the teeth out of votes, but here’s a breakdown of stated opinions and votes anyway: (may have mistakes, I put names in the wrong places several times, hopefully I caught it all) Probably Not Elim Pairs -Illwei and Araris for ninjaing each other with Randby votes: TWTBAW -Vonnegut and Szeth because Szeth was a legitimate train and they stayed on them -Azmine and Araris because they directed suspicion towards them at a dangerous time for Araris -Jondesu and Quinn because he voted for her late in the game, when that train was still possible -Dannex and Illwei for attacking each other -Quinn and Araris because she spent a long time sussing him -Illwei gave up on their Quinn poke because they got tired of waiting for them to come back. If they had a doc, I’m sure they’d have coordinated better and she’d have stuck with it Flying Under the Radar: -Ashbringer has been active, but avoided much fighting. -Vonnegut has asked a lot of feeler questions, but avoided much scrutiny. -PizzaPower hasn’t said much of substance. -Flyingbooks was late to the party and has yet to catch up. -Gears hasn't been meaningfully sussed much yet. (Gears and Araris don't have a PM, by the way, found that out last turn) Suspicions -Ashbringer has been playing high visibility, low aggression -Szeth has been sheeping the consensus -Jondesu was eager to get Mat’s poke off their back, and voted Randby -Illwei’s questioning the Randby CW felt genuine, but Mat’s reaction seemed less so -I think the Randby CW was village led, but I suspect the elims didn’t mind it because it made the exe more predictable. Quinn seemed relieved to hop on it. -I thought Araris would stick to his guns instead of CC Notable Quotables (isolated)

Alright, I reread the exchange and I think I see the problem. This post is done on mobile, sorry for the formatting. No, I know. But later, someone else had some meta reasoning about why Dannex is a good person to Stab. Can't remember who, though - Szeth I remembered Archer saying something about meta reasoning with Dannex in one of his huge posts, so I was assuming Illwei had based their vote off of that. -Szeth Here, Szeth is mis-sheeping me. In my opening post, I briefly touched on Dannex's recent game performance and how that might affect how people interact with them, but Szeth misremembered or intentionally misquoted me as saying I saw meta reasons relating to their activity in THIS game that justify voting for them. That prompted Illwei to correct their last assumption there: Araris was just Stabbing Danex, my vote has nothing to do with that :P. -Illwei Here's where I misremembered. I missed this post shortly after: The point was not that hes a good person to Stab, but that hes an easy target because of his erratic playstyle- something i havent seen much of right now. Meta reasoning go brrr -Illwei Specifically, Illwei takes issue with Dannex not being erratic enough. The way it was delivered made me miss it. I was waiting for something a little more substantive to engage with, thinking you'd explain more, while you thought you'd already made a full explanation. So apologies for missing this and I should have followed up. I'll do that now. I'd there anything Dannex has said specifically that tipped you off, or is it just a general feeling of cautiousness from them? I don't feel comfortable voting for them based on general vibes.

SNOOPS’ TRAVEL DIARY: THE FORREST OF DREAMS: DAY 42 I want to begin today’s entry with a shout-out to you, lovely readers. My publishing schedule tells me that as I write this, the exciting climax of The Inn-side Story is being printed for tomorrow’s edition. My series on the Fanged Fighters of Fairstead should then run for three weeks, by which time I hope to have returned from this adventure to get this diary to my editor for release. It feels strange to think that you will have already finished those serials by the time you read this, but such is the life of a columnist! It is your support that allows me to be a fly on the wall in the most exciting frontiers of Threnody, so from the bottom of my heart, I thank you. A MINER SET-BACK: The mountain I told you of in my last entry is ripe with silver ore – but our party has also found some mysterious ruins of an ancient civilization! What happened to the people who once lived here? Could there be a curse on these lands that will slay all who set foot here? WHERE THERE’S A WILL: Brilliant PROFESSOR WILLIAM DYER, ever the silver fox, is nonetheless eager to investigate. It would be such a shame for a mind like his to be lost to The Curse – and don’t get me started on that body! THE WEIGHT IS OVER: Rumor has it that SAM has already lost three pounds after embarking on this journey of endurance. Who knew hiking was such good exercise? They had better watch they don’t lose anything else – like their sanity! (Or their patience with me!) STARSTRUCK: Yours truly was shocked yesterday morning to be shoved from behind by none other than QUINTUS. What I brute! One has to wonder where they were headed in such a hurry. A rushed romantic rendezvous perhaps? As always, I’ll keep my ear to the ground and report back tomorrow! -Sally ‘Snoops’ Starlingo *** This philosophy hurts the village. The post of yours I took issue with was something like, “I’m voting Dannex for meta reasons,” with no accompanying explanation. Your job as a villager is to out-logic the voices of evil to convince your fellow villagers to vote for the right person while making it impossible for the elims to justify a CW. Your vote is unhelpful otherwise. Furthermore, failing to articulate reasons reduces your accountability for the results of the vote. If Dannex had been exed and flipped village, we would have turned on you for an explanation. In theory, e!you has then stalled for 24 hours and came up with an excuse that will make us pause. Alternatively, you, could also just say brrr meta reasons and we’re left talking to a wall. Allowing people to act without providing reasons makes it easy for the elims to avoid our scrutiny. If everyone stops backing up their posts because that's the villagey thing to do, the game grinds to a stand-still. I encourage you to follow up your gut reads with persuasive arguments to get the rest of us on board with your train of thought. And YOU. Why on Threnody would you try to vote for yourself? You know you're village, right?

Flyingbooks said "This ruleset sounds interesting, so I'll play, though I might have to quit if I get too busy when finals start." I'm assuming IRL stuff is the reason for their absence, but the same assumption can be made for Randby. We don't have an ETA for either of them. Flyingbooks has played more rounds than Randby recently, so picking them over Randby evens things up. That's why I see it as fairer, but I'm fine killing either option. Unsolicited Vote Count: Randby (5): Ash, Illwei, Araris, Quinn, Jondesu Flyingbooks (2): Gears*, Archer Quinn (1): Szeth Illwei (1): Archer Szeth (1): Vonne Edit: Hit CTRL+ENTER instead of SHIFT+ENTER and posted early, sorry. Village points to Azmine for being suspicious of this CW, but as Dannex can tell you, well-intentioned villagers can genuinely do stuff like this near the end of the Day if they don’t like their options. For me, it comes down to do I follow my best lead, or do I go for a 1 in 4 chance that an inactive is evil? Illwei’s defence to my accusation was the argument suspicious doesn’t necessarily mean evil. That’s a flawed rebuttal which I reserve the right to circle back to next cycle. But I voted them off D1 of the last LG, and I’d feel bad doing it again. I’m happy with where the thread is at; almost everyone has voted, which is amazing. Even if it disadvantages us later on, I want to reward that by casting what amounts to a ‘no vote’. Purely to spite Gears I’ll be voting for Flyingbooks today. Randby’s recent game record LG75: Replaced after N3 ; MR49 Exed after C7 ; QF52 Did not play gave them slightly less playtime than Flyingbooks’ last three games LG75: Exed after D8 ; MR49 NKed after C6 ; QF52: Replaced after C1. If we’re exing people for not showing up, Flyingbooks is the ‘fairer’ target. I’m okay with this strategy because if we let everyone active survive C1, in C2 we can be bloodthirsty without feeling much guilt, and hopefully get more bang for our buck. If you're a scribe with nothing to put in your write-up, I have a magazine column I can let you post... but you're probably better served doing other stuff.

@Elandera The Order of Actions in the doc rules has something called Whisper to the Wind listed. Is that the Scribe action? As we're in the home stretch, here's my breakdown of actions you should consider submitting by rollover! (There more you technically can do, but I've only listed the helpful ones) Professor: Double vote Surveyor: Dig for items Scribe: Publish something in the writeup Anyone: Listen at the Door: Spy on a PM Use an Item: Fenweed Poison (if you’re very confident), Pallid Mask (If you’re very paranoid) Oh hello votes. This is indeed like the Dannex train, but I'm not entirely against it.

Noticed this on my before bed skim. As I believe PMs are being underused in this game, based on people's comments and the interactions I've had so far, I don't believe we're likely going to catch any e-e teammates by their lack of a PM, as I had secretly initially hoped. However, the elims likely have realized the implications of the PM spying actions and have been discussing the precautions they need to take. Specifically, most of them will probably have PMs with each other that they can use to pretend to coordinate their actions if they need to fall back on "PM reasoning" later in the game. My mentioning it turns this whole line of inquiry into an IKYK, which is regrettable, but I'm banking on the group having already figured this out, and the likelihood of my being able to coordinate a mass PM spying operation without tipping off an elim is low. Because not everyone is making PMs with rich conversations that can be analyzed for their sincerity, the potential value of maybe catching an e-e pair by their lack of (genuine seeming) PM is lower than the value of my making the following point now: All this is probably on the elims' minds. That Jondesu is thinking about it may be an elim tell. Quinn has also twice gone out of their way to say they'll make no PMs, which could be the result of an elim doc conversation about how best to deal with the PM spy mechanic; you can't be caught not having a PM with your teammate if you have no PMs at all.

I have two theories: 1. Illwei wants to see how people will react to their vote on Dannex. If that's the case, here ya go Illwei 2. Illwei think Dannex is playing a tighter game than usual and finds that suspicious. Either way, if you can't find anything to back up meta reasoning, it's probably not worth pursuing. Gut reads should lead to arguments; if you can't justify your vote, it's suspicious.
