  1. Dibs on roasting Ruin! You simply need to try more hard, it's not too tricky to obtain a Shard
  2. I'm aware Alpha was the NK. There's probably three elims and the exe took two votes. They had control of the situation, so when deciding who to push, Aman made sense as a target. Not everything is about me, but not everything is about you either. Your play seems self centered. Which is kinda villagery but never mind that. Would you have voted anyone besides yourself at EOD C1? Here's a thought. E!Alpha was pulling a bold gambit. A WGG is also a bold gambit. Normally I'd say you delay your WGG until C2, but if you want resurrection, you need to do it C1. I'd say this is unlikely, but last I played with e!Alpha he was giddy to get into gambits and was rewarded for pulling one.
  3. I had this terrible thought last night, sparked by a comment someone made at EOD, that you claimed the knife the attract bodyguard protection. Then went around asking folks if they're bodyguards, using that as an excuse. I don't see why people thought Aman was evil. This is worth litigating btw because we might bring him back. He's a fabulous kill for the elims because it's guilt free because he was a late signup, it gets rid of a thread control threat, and, given the margins, he probably wasn't evil. Don't you think he would have self pressed when he was clearly around at EOD arguing for the person he wanted dead on merit, not just to save himself? Annnd now it's intentional, not a throwaway, so it looks like you're trying to reenforce my read of you based on that. I don't like that. Regarding votes, probably worth establishing a clear exe candidate with some time to go before EOD so there's time to submit a banishment action. Aman, Alpha, your job is to interrogate each other to the point of knowing if the other person is worth saving.
  4. I swear Mat and Aman were on Ash and that was the leading wagon. If we can bring back Aman, we should. Did DeTess ask anyone else if they're a bodyguard? Detess
  5. Ash likes chaos? He's saying people don't like the setup as much as the punchline. I took it as NAI playstyle advice. What's the argument for that being evil? Is it that he discounted e!openwolfing!Alpha because that's a sensible conclusion, especially with the RP theory available
  6. TKN's a bad vote because of that one line I have chosen to put a lot of stock in. What's up with the Ashbringer crowd? They've said very little, I have them in the JNV tier. It's in the context of POE, remember. My options I'm looking at are Devo (decided there's nothing to go on), you, TJ. Then Ash and JNV, but I don't have a case for them either. TJ at least made my gut rumble
  7. Very disappointed that my reread of this post found less to be suspicious of than I'd thought. Alpha's claim did feel like them just having fun, which e!they has been known to embrace, I'll add. If involved!Aman is villagey, I feel like thread controller is Aman's best position to get to. He hasn't tried to exploit that obvious vacuum so good vibes I think it's more the subtext. TJ is -self conscious - a TLDR says you're thinking of how your posts are viewed -vote focussed. They twice mention thinking of how people's votes might move later, and are annoyed they might shift unpredictably -@ ing Mat didn't feel natural. Might even be an invite to distance. I feel like I'd poke vote Mat, then shift to voting me later in the round. What does saying hey do something accomplish? You can factor in a slight bump for the returning player halo, which I think ends with you being in about that position on a hastily constructed pyramid
  8. Well I quite reasonably looked at Devo's posts, said I agree with all of that, so why don't I trust them? I just wanted to see more from them. Really I've got a claims and gambits POE plus Wonko's reaction to Alpha reads as village, and I'm fine killing anyone else. Probably not Devo because there's no technical reason to, but that's why they're a mid round vote, not a final one. It's C1 m8 I was indeed leaving room to move elsewhere, but I wasn't being sneaky about it Devo TJ It's kind of an old bit. A lot of people have played that card before you, and some of them weren't great to play with, cooperation-wise. I don't think anyone took offense. Do you have any reads of people based on how they reacted? I ignored it, how do you feel about that compared to say Aman embracing it? If the original intent was to make it ambiguous about whether there's 2 or 3 knives, I don't see any reason to announce the change to a range of 3 to 4 unless you're doing the 4 knife distro.
  9. Part of your problem may be that I'm not entirely certain @ ing people in " boxes works. Let's see I was kinda hoping you'd self pres onto someone. Would you do me a favor and get that over with so I can think about other people? @Szeth_Pancakes was the knife distro an intentional decision or a mistake? There's minor meta implications about the distro, but you're welcome to not tell us.
  10. Correct. I'm voting you for unrelated reasons to that.
  11. Wonko Devo I disagree with two elims with one being a Survivalist being viable. If the Survivalist dies or needs to burn their action on unbanishment instead of NKing, they're in a bad place. It'd make more sense to give them an offensive boost in a 2 elim game, rather than a defensive one. But I think Szeth started with 3 elims and built around that. I've come around to the idea of e!Survivalist being OP, pending crazy distro revaluations. mmm Aman he gambiting, good vibes -I imagine Szeth gave the elims the opportunity for a WGG because gambit are fun to enable, but knives are RANDOMLY distributed so they technically can't be meta read. FWIW I believe DeTess' knife claim though
  12. But would you do it as an edit? I liked my theory better when you, having had time to scheme and prepare, make that post. But doing it as an edit doesn't fit the vibe Mobile users be like: why is Devo alone on the bottom
  13. Interesting. I'll buy that. They’re a confirmed villager, so that sets them up nicely to be the information hub, not that I encourage that type of game play Ah I see. I'm a little surprised you're more focused on communication than you are the e/v ratio. I'm softly treating Banished players as as good as dead. The loss of their contribution to the ratio, their votes, their role powers (aka all the usual things we like having people around for) would be a better justification for not being trigger happy. Others are free to chime in about whether Wonko's is a mindset they can see a villager naturally arriving at, but it's a little convoluted to me. Edit: ninjaed by TKN This sense of urgency tracks with what I consider a more typical villager mindset do I feel like TKN would ask for a doc to pretend he doesn't have an elim one right now? I kinda do actually. He likes small but clever gambits
  14. See below I put it to you that you're worried about thread control Says the guy who has only done rules analysis so far. If you're worried about going down mech rabbit holes, simply don't? Interesting advantage to that being we can check role claims people keep talking about C4 as if we'll make it that long :P.
  15. Boop Homesteader gets to banish starting at the end of C2, then every other Cycle. Were you under the impression it starts C1, or are you recommending they hold off until C4? Why mention a mayor rather than imagine the Dawnshard of Time holder in that role? Your post also discusses the issue of the NK being resurrected. There's a built-in limit of one resurrection per person, I believe, meant to mitigate that issue a bit. But when you couple your thought of a mayor with your thinking about NK resurrections, you seem e!nervous about the mechanics. (IMO we probably just have the Time holder in play, meaning one resurrection every other cycle. If they have to double tap the NK a few times it balances out because it's a freaking flipless game.) We know there's two knives in play (one for every four players, rounded down). I don't hate your argument for them claiming, but my instinct is to direct that conversation into PMs.
  16. I don't think we've met yet, how's it going, Wonko!
  17. Szeth made me lose The Game. My revenge will be making Szeth lose at this game In as Preservation
  18. Welcome to the Shard!

  19. What I liked about this game is that there was a case to be made that the loss of you as a village team member could be justified by the benefit of the action you took to cause your conversion. I believe Drake killed a baddie on his way out the door, for example. Edit: forgot Drake was Auto. Pretend he wasn't for that example. I get that the existence of the mechanic implies permission to use it, but it's weird that the core contract of the game is broken so vaguely. If I was assigned villager but worked the entire game towards positioning myself to convert, at the expense of cooperative village play, is that acceptable? If I was an elim who intent converted and sold out my former teammates in exchange for a brokered mutual win, would that be acceptable? I'd rather rulesets explicitly say that some people are expected to convert and provide even a flimsy excuse for why it makes sense to a villager to do so because otherwise I think it meets the technical definition of game throwing. I'm personally okay with the mechanic, I just wish it made logical sense to engage with it. The best solution I have to offer is requiring that someone convert eventually, making it a sanctioned and admirable choice to take one for the team.
  20. Finally get to talk about this. Imagine you're villager me, going into a Day Four where due to some erratic play and meta reasons, you're a surefire candidate for the exe. Now imagine you open up your GM PM to find you've been converted. On Day Four. My brain broke and my best defense was 'there's no way I've been converted because that would be extraordinarily unwise!'. Because that's the truth. DeTess, I have no idea why you weren't ever converted because I was dead before I had the chance to ask questions. :P. Anyway, shoutout to Ash for running a lovely game, and Devo for IMing it. But I think the biggest thank you goes to Aman for stepping in to check the rules and coGM. It was very appreciated. Congrats on the win, Autobots and JNV.
  21. @Matrim's Dice knows why, nuff said plus you'll do that work tomorrow and I'm lazy good luck * Death. Everyone always regrets- "Mind answering this?" The happy infant nodded, gargled, spit and reached eagerly, nabbing the glowing orb. Oh dear. "That's rotated. Upsidedown." Cosmos explained. Printed messages wafted across, now turned exactly diagonal. Regrets. Everyone says- "PATTERN OBSERVED. NOTED DISINTEREST IN NIGHTLY RESEARCH. PATTERN MUST REVEAL..." Death. It comes. Everyone-
