  1. If it's an inactive elim team that forgot to submit the sab, I'll be mad Is TKN is evil, I'll be mad at Kas specifically for talking me out of my e!TKN read on C2. But I don't think it was e-e because one reason for it was he got a PM from TKN arguing for V!me. Weird thing to make up instead of just refuting my points. Kinda haven't engaged with the game too much last couple days, and I apologize. Have some pained votes TKN TKN
  2. Either that d20 is rigged, or somebody did some good work to get those two out. I'm having a little trouble reading whether the elims would bother CWing, but if they would, Sart and TKN would seem like the targets but it'd weird Mat split their vote about it. (Allegedly. :P.) I'll admit my blindspot in SE is elims going inactive works to make my suspicions go away, so I struggle to support pushes based on that. What my pattern recognition brain is grappling with right now is why two people put a lot of effort into analysis right at the end of the round. Deadlines clarify the mind? Or trying to justify votes? Or trying to squeeze some tuition reduction out? * Jincs liked to watch the disciplinary hearings. They had a thing for bad boys. "The student is hereby charged with Reckless Use of Sympathy!" "Well you have my sympathy, fellah." "Rhe student is hereby charged with Undignified Mischief!" "Implying the existence of dignified mischief?" "The student is hereby charged with Conduct Unbecoming!" "Take me home with you and I'll be-" "The Crockery has been breached!" Jincs did some quick mental math. That odds of two students escaping from there were astronomically low. 1 in 400 even! They hardly made numbers much larger. And now students were at large. "Thats HOT."
  3. To quote Indian Jones, "everyone's lost but me!" :P. I was going by final VC, so fair counterpoint. And perhaps more compellingly, what're the odds Mat and TJ rand elim AGAIN and quickly shoot JNV AGAIN. TJ TJ I just had the very fun experience of trying to guess whether or not that was an example of evil me. Apparently Xino and I were village in that situation. * I'm looking for someone in Imre, PM me if you are and are interested in a... business venture Mat mat
  4. Is cheaper if you rp an apology, just saying Why don't you want to direct my votes? Isn't that the whole point of the game I'm getting village vibes from Araris. I respect the willingness to continue contributing even after expulsion. The person I'd like to see more pressure on is TJ, due to their votes. They're the only T1M2 voter on me I don't fully trust. Then they also kinda sheeped the majority last round, plus a vote on Stink that feels stinky. I feel like Sart and Stink are two very different votes and people are more likely to make comparable votes if they're being genuine. TJ TJ
  5. I'd mentally flagged the same comment. I got my rollover times mixed up yesterday and was still debating whether to say on Mat or not. I don't hate that the decision was made for me though Whatcha trying to pay for? You're sitting on less than 8 talents, why did buying stuff become your main ambition rather than progression through EP? Who would you have us vote instead of you?
  6. Have you tried being less poor? It really does solve a lot of problems :P. I'm village reading you for other reasons, but this is a known tell of yours. E!Mat has a victim mindset. You get screwed by wrong formula, right answer, then you try to argue out of it by pointing out the logical flaws in the formula used. Sart's vote is arbitrary. You trying to reason with unreasonableness to such a high degree is strange. It's weird that you're appealing to a sense of, for lack of a better word, fairness over this arbitrary vote - your character wouldn't know that, don't hurt me because I'm poor. Numbering your responses reminds me of my elim defense mode which is defensive and pedantic. Overall, it feels like an overreaction. If we factor in your suspicion of Sart, I feel like you'd be more open to accepting the arbitrariness of the vote and the fact you can't sway it with weak counter points about RP, not less. * @Szeth_Pancakes I'll continue our conversation here because it's in both of our best interests to avoid excessive PMing. (There's a penalty for PMing more than you post). My general assumption is that people have just dumped EP into the stat they wrote an essay about pre game, if they did, so that's NAI. Those who went for pipes got to pick, but I haven't looked into the options enough to know what's best for elims. I suspect the elims avoided overlapping choices, so it's unlikely there was a situation where Elim 1 went for say Naming and Elim 2 also went for Naming, meaning only Elim 1 got Naming. Instead, E1 would do Naming and E2 would do Archives or something. Those who failed to elevate C1 are therefore slightly less likely to be e-e with someone who did elevate than people who did elevate are to those who also elevated. That has contributed to my positive read of TKN. Which leads me to my thought that 1 of 3 nobles being evil is a reasonable distro. Making you a decent suspect. Thoughts?
  7. Mat mat ash ash Why would you make those points. That's the weirdest defense I've ever seen Fair enough on Araris. I'm actually re thinking that one, might be leaning more evil than village on him now Agreed. But it might be a language holdover from last game where he framed everything as a gut read for a bit. * Jincs was smarter than everybody else. That wasn't just their opinion, it was a quantifiable fact. They were top three in all of their classes. Their tutor kept telling them that if they studied their teachers' marking styles more, they could be first even. The commoners made stupid decisions. Like wasting their energy on part time jobs. Jincs liked to prod classmates who fell asleep during lessons and remind them, "you can't achieve class consciousness if you can't stay conscious during class!" They were fools for thinking they could achieve any subversion of the world order anyway by attending the University. At best, they were trading the hierarchy of class relations for a lowly spot in the hierarchy of academia. Frankly, being poor was probably easier than being the apprentice to grumpy Master whatshisface in Alchemy. Whatshisface wasn't actually that bad a guy. He coached the rowing team, which Jincs had landed a place on thanks to their impressive performances for their preparatory school's travel team last year. Which was another reason they were smarter than everyone else: forward thinking extracurriculars and a willingness to network. People who didn't do high level sports deserved their lower profiles. If, no, when, Jincs got promoted, it'd be thanks to the hard work they'd put in to get that far. "Poverty mindset is a choice," they helpfully informed their peers. Peers sounded wrong, it made it seem like they were equals. Classmates. Eh, that sounded like they shared a social class. Whatever. "But I don't blame you for giving up on getting to my level. I'm just smarter than everybody else."
  8. "You didn't have to apologize," the Master whose name Jincs had forgotten intoned. "No one told you to write lines. Who let you in here anyway? And what happened to my chalk!" "You mean this chalk?" Jincs threw the pile of crushed chalk into the air. As the Master fell into a fit of coughing, Jincs tucked and rolled out the doorway. "You'll never take me alive!" They ran through the halls, only pausing for a moment to rip down a disgusting paper poster. They made it outside and started heading home. "Seriously, what was his name..." Jincs tried to remember the names of everyone, anyone they knew. But they couldn't. "I should get some more sleep. What's the point of living in a nice hotel if I never use it." The Horse and Four was a good place to crash for the evening. Unfortunately, the house band wasn't very talented. The Hoarse Four were as good singers as their names implied, and Jincs was almost certain the talent pipes they wore were fake. "Maybe that's why I'm so tired..." Jincs checked at the bar for death threats, but the only mail they'd been sent that day was a tuition bill. They chose to ignore it. "See ya in the morning, whoever you are. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day." 1.Shh I wasn't gonna tell TKN I ever suspected them. If you're reading this, TKN, don't believe these outrageous falsehoods. 2. Not a fan. Rich people should get all the perks So, opposite read as mine on Araris?
  9. I'm sorry you're idiots. Jincs quickly erased half the sentence from the blackboard before anyone noticed. It wasn't worth getting extra detention over. I'm sorry for shredding complaints. Had they really been shredding them? Chopping might be more accurate. Or mincing. Dicing. Using as toilet paper because they committed to a poop before they checked if the stall had any left and they didn't want to waddle over to the next stall and risk getting caught with their pants down. I'm sorry for evicerating complaints. Was that how it was spelled? It didn't look right. Maybe they should change that word. I'm sorry for destroying complaints. Perfect. One down, only nine hundred and ninety-nine lines left to write. I'm sorry for destroying my pants. Sheesh that trauma kept creeping back. Maybe they were the idiot. You always check before you poop, it's rule one of public washrooms. I'm sorry for destroying complaints. Wasn't there a way to magically write stuff on the chalk board? Or did it only work for writing names. They should have paid more attention in naming class. I'm sorry for They snapped the chalk. "Master, I need another one. Oh, all of the chalk in this room has mysteriously been stolen? Wonder when that happened, oh well! Guess I can't finish this assignment today, byeeee." * Kinda like the perseverance on the STINK vote. And I guess I need to try twice as hard to murder Ash then. Araris Ash
  10. I feel attacked rn Yeah ignore that part of the pre write. Surprised you didn't call me out for potentially killing off my biggest adversary. Worth noting that Drake and JNV are very different kill choices - can't think of the pattern. I'm leaning village on people who have double voted a single target. It's shows conviction. But it's does seem like him doing C2 is a little odd, that's more of what I consider a C1 Araris vote. You gonna vote for him? How'd people erase votes? * Reads list rn Yeah: Mat, Kas, TKN, JNV, Drake, TJ Nah: Steel, Wonko, Ash, Araris, Szeth, Stink, Sart Ash + Araris
  11. Kinda digging the 12 hour waiting period. Some thoughts: -TJ said Drake has been claim baity in PMs. I don't think Drake goes after me for phishing if evil. It draws attention to their evil strategy and leads to allegations of hypocrisy. -(@ Drake that's on you for posting RP without analysis then. I went looking for content to engage with and found very little, so I was forced to read into analysis packaged as RP. Hence my annoyance when you, who had only RPed, seemed to be complaining people weren't introducing themselves and their thoughts enough - which seemed to turn into votes on just people who made an effort to do more than RP. My theoretical elim profile would be the opposite, I'm looking for people who say a lot to get the mechanical edge, but otherwise avoid contraversy. I consider putting myself out there with wild OOC suggestions like role claiming to be vote baiting in a round where the smart thing would be to safely focus on saying nothing through RP.) -JNV was C2edin MR64. Mat placed that kill so I don't think he, and less certain but probably his teammate TJ, would take the JNV shot early in this game if they were evil. -Genuinely confused why people are splitting their votes. Thought it was e!cautiousness but everybody is doing it Edit: just ignore half of that. he got attacked, he's village Also I've been roleblocked by the exe, in case you're wondering why we're bothering to vote for people
  12. Mat's tell isn't mentioning how busy he'll be, it's that he repeatedly mentions it, often to try to deflect suspicion he feels is unwarranted. My rule is his first mention gets a pass, then after that its a red flag. As for the blatant phishing, would you like to join my actions planning club? You seem well versed in the rules and would be of great benefit. :3. Why worry about Kas trying to shield himself when the consequence for exeing him is *checks notes* he might have to write more RP to apologize? Frankly it'd be a good plot opportunity for him I'm definitely going to read the rules very soon, but in the meantime, I'm sensing the exe isn't as effective as roles? Which is honestly great because I don't have a rank and so y'all can handle the heavy lifting here.
  13. How come I got sent to horny jail even though Drake had more votes than me? I'm sleeping through 2/3rds of this round and busy on Saturday, so don't expect much. Drake Drake
  14. Kinda confused what you're claiming your motivations are here. And why you think just voting the top two wagons is especially accurate - unless you have two compelling cases for me and Mat, both of equal merit to warrant splitting your votes? It looks a lot like you didn't vote based on who they were but what position they were in. You have the votes to pull anyone else into a 2-2-2 tie with us, rather than solidify the existing options. If you had actual suspicions, I reckon you'd either double up on me, or double vote someone else. Instead you pull the I don't know anyone line which reads as you saying oh well, guess I'm stuck voting these two options because it's too late, when it's not completely too late, and if it was, that's on you for not bothering to develop suspicions and prod them before now. Arbitrary voting based on the VC hides your lack of villager legwork. My AA meetings look a lot like e!info phishing, so it can be used to justify a vote. It's enough putting myself out there to make people go hm anyway. If you don't really think through your suspicions, you might identify that as a potential wagon Purely to rile you up :P. Your RP stream is fine, but I wanted to see how far you'd go to push that vote Steel actually kinda fits my elim profile, which is mostly RP and staying out of sight. And maybe stalling initially while they strategize. Their opening Mat vote was very safe and justifiable, while helping get some votes down to add certainty.
  15. That's new for you, but I'm guessing it's one of those rules things I'm too book-adverse to have picked up on yet :P. *laughs in wealthier than everyone else* It's a tough to read situation, but what have you done to change that? It's uncreative to vote leading wagons, and hedgy to split your votes. I've been waiting (/baiting) for a bad vote on me to come along, and yours looks like one. we get money for posting? Last call for Actions Anonymous, it's an exciting opportunity to tell me what to do so I don't squander it all
  16. JNV Kas Drake Drake "Since apparently everyone knows I'm the expert on the subject, I can authoratively state that that's rich."
  17. Jincs fished their tuition cheque out of their pocket. "Oh that money. I'm really not that rich. How much is this beer, by the way? Ten, twenty talents? Just put it on my tab, thank you, rabble man." * I was planning on putting all my info out in the open, but now I don't like it. >:( Putting my second vote on Kas in defense of Steel
  18. Just remembered that was a canonical aspect of the world building. Oh well :D. Why do you think I'm a noble? If you join my PM gang I'll confirm or deny it * Jincs enjoyed paper mâché. Sorry, paper *machete. They liked using a large knife to chop up complaints. It was cathartic to make people's problems disappear. "And more bounty money for me, tee hee!"
  19. Scab >. > Jincs took it upon themselves to empty the suggestion box outside the Administration Offices. They tossed the ones written on paper, of course. Those were made by people with poor taste. "Funny that. They've all been filed by people with poor taste today. This one has so little conviction it looks fake. Be free, little papers!" They hustled up the walkway, spying a dropbox for exams deserving of the same treatment. JNV
  20. mm yes I definitely know what these are I'm making a group PM called Actions Anonymous that's going to be a support group for people who are okay playing open handed if it means getting to strategize with other players in a meaningful way. Full disclosure, I haven't read the long rules yet, but I hope to sometime. :P. Message me if you want in and are okay sharing most of your starting information. * Jincs watched a bard walk into a bar. Bards were notorious for leaving their money unsecured, often times in boxes or hats at their feet. Jincs had never done a crime before, but they were eager to try. They instinctively checked their own cloak to make sure they hadn't been pickpocketed themselves. Fortunately, no one seemed interested in swiping a couple of drabs and a cheque. "Quite surprising we still use paper to transfer funds these days, huh!" they remarked, making eye contact with a passing student. The student lengthened their stride to get past them quicker. "Books will be our downfall! I can send you my video lecture on the subject..." With a sigh, Jincs stepped inside. The dive had too many menus for their taste. "Beer please. Regular? And large. Actually, extra large. And have you considered using QR code links instead of these?"
  21. HAHAHAHAHA IT WAS TJ That's actually a very satisfying elim team. I feel like I suspected all of them at one point or another, just couldn't follow through Mat, I'll stop pursuing it the day I mix V!you. :P. You shouldn't have used math either, very sus. Lucky for you, DeTess steered me wrong and I ignored my gut about her too. In retrospect, I shouldn't have let this slide from her: Oh well. Good game, baddies. The distro was weird because I was assuming no assassin, but I also didn't properly grasp how the resurrection stuff and knives worked, so I trust it was balanced. The docs were surprisingly quiet - I think people felt more dead than alive and checked out. Thanks for running this, GM, IM!
  22. Numbers in a parity equation can't vote. I think we should treat banished people as as good as dead because once we lose thread control, it's basically over. Plus, eventually the Shard ends up in evil hands and that tap gets shut off. I find it hard to believe V!Mat misinterprets this the way he has. If we review the LG95 evil doc, Mat acknowledges my theory that every time he's been evil recently, he's taken pains to mention is unavailability, presumably to head off playstyle change accusations. It's two for two so far, and Mat has brought up his vacay three times this game. It seemed more natural to start, but he's bringing it up regularly now, so I think it falls within the realm of his tell. So Wonko why do I call Devo's point out then? If I wanted to stage that convo, I'd just respond to you to make my point. If Devo copied you from an elim doc info dump, why would I respond - and like this?
  23. I mostly don't like her Aman vote, but I understand the logic of her claiming and then volunteering to go (presumably kill Aman) means she's villagey. You think the elim team got what is essentially a free extra kill every other cycle? Versus a villager, for whom it should be more like a village death half the time, an elim death half the time, so much less painful to the balance of the game. I didn't realize TKN was trying to pressure the Homestead Leader because of concerns about their alignment, I thought we were just floating who we'd like to see dead too. If we banish, exe, NK this cycle, that's makes 5/11 people banished. With 4 knives in play, it's very likely a knife makes it through without extra intervention. Mat Detess I'm using this tell as my pretext, but also remember my suspect pool is fairly narrow. JNV is unanalyzable, no one is willing to vote TJ, so it's you or Devo that are left. Also I don't think kill Archer because he's trying to block DeTess' ascension to the shadow realm so we won't get any flips is a serious theory. See above where I discuss there being four knives in play. There's a chance I die and no one has fessed up to it in PMs so here's a tidbit. I was attacked by a Fighter last night. Gut says they're village because they maybe wanted to stop me from submitting the NK, but actually it's on a delayed cycle so never mind that theory. Could be either alignment.
  24. I'm a big fan of the style matching the personality of the roasting character, so I quite enjoyed how that rap progressed Preservation's Rebuttal >:(
  25. So you also think we should banish DeTess :P. Also, we have 4 knives in play probably, so odds are okay that someone with one gets there organically. It felt more like a continuation of this thought, 90 minutes before rollover Where he says I'm not gonna let Aman die. Then fails (due to IRL stuff allegedly) to follow through. Hence the apology. If Aman is WGGing, the plan would have to be a backup one. Aman is okay ending up at a tie and counting on a resurrection. But at least 2 people wanted him dead, what if one is the Shard holder? (Alpha kill might make sense in that light though because you want the choice to be between a NOT consensus villager who got NKed versus you. But it kinda confirms a villager was voting for you, making it seem less nefarious....). In what world does e!Wonko accuse Alpha of game throwing? Everyone involved in that had too much genuine emotion for them to be not village. I feel e!Alpha would have been less hurt but it, e!Wonko wouldn't have called it game throwing. Reread that interaction, they went hard at each other. Is there any appetite for a TJ exe now? I genuinely believe theyre evil still.
