  1. Me: "I think Pending or meat pie man had the best RP" Dead Doc Devo: "Hold my beer" Their son: "And my beer" Their other son: "And mine!" * I'm a little sad I didn't get to have the reveal that the WGG survival was from Quirk Lurching me, not me burning a Thug life, but I respect not wanting to spend the next two weeks getting to a predictable outcome. Pleasure being evil with you, Quirk! I was hesitant going into an RP heavy game, but I think it grew on me as the game went on. I appreciate everyone buying in and making it a fun game. Thanks for running this, Devo, Araris!
  2. "Are you actually kidding me "
  3. Rem had considered just plowing ahead with making a case for all of the Thug candidates being evil, or even trying to figure out possible teammates for them. He couldn't bring himself to do it though. "The infuriating thing is that I know who is evil. With 100% certainty I can name a Spiked. Except I don't and I can't."
  4. Rem wanted some of every Pending was drinking. "Don't you get it? There's six of us. This is it. The other Thug takes two voting sessions to kill, meaning they have time to kill everyone else and leave their partner in a tie with the last villager, giving them the win since ties kill no one. I'll add that me giving up the ability to tank an execution is a hefty price to pay for trickery. I know why the other Thug isn't claiming, but it'd be nice if someone else would point them out so I can convince you all."
  5. "I was drawn to voting Sono for reasons other than their role and it's revisionist history to say they weren't the best candidate even without knowledge of their role. Would you rather we killed you on the second Day? There was no need to undo the lie until after last Night, in order to give the gambit purpose, which is why I have held my tongue this long." "As for this... I know that Onon verbally acknowledged in our private communications that my fake claim was just pretend. I ascribe this to drugs addling their brain." Rem patted their pockets. "I appear to have left my deck of cards at the Stalehouse. I fear we require another means of resolving this."
  6. QF69: Aftermath: Three Strikes The drull had one last chance to strike. “It’s process of elimination now,” declared Mrat. “I’m processing who to eliminate.” “It should be you!” hollered Wei. “No way. No… Wei?” “Why do you have to be so accusatory? Can’t we just let this whole thing go?” They all exchanged sideways glances. “That doesn’t sound like something a sensible drull would say,” muttered Bastam. “WEI.” “I’m tired of living to die. You’re all crazy!” “WEI. WEI. WEI!” Drull were grown to kill. When they tackled their former friend, what happened at the bottom of the pile would have made even the Dark One himself proud. * “Do I have skin in my teeth?” asked Jenvee. Bastam squinted. “You’re good. Want to split the last leg, Mrat? Hey, why the long face?” Mrat looked solemnly into the horizon. Far, far away, he could just see the towering silhouette of the Dark Keep. “It took us a long time to catch them.” “Yeah. So?” “If our hearts were truly black, Wei should never have been able to trick us, not even for a moment.” Jenvee spat. “You’re saying they’ve corrupted us a little?” Mrat nodded. “We can never forget what they said. Their heathen thoughts reside in us.” Bastam wiped away a tear. “I think… I think I understand what must be done. Take up your spears, my brothers.” * A sensible drull lives for two things. To defeat the Dark One’s enemies and to die gloriously for their cause. In their final acts, the remaining drull would achieve both. Mrat fell on their spear gazing into what counted for a sunset in Mirandus. Jenvee made it quick with a slash across their throat. And Bastam laughed at them both. “You animals.” They waved their hands, dispelling the illusion spell that Koran had taught them. Wei could barely stand as they burst into a fit of laughter. “I’ve won! I’ve beat the Narrative!” As they basked in their victory, the ground beneath them trembled. Change was coming to Mirandus. * @Ookla the Destined has been killed by vote. They were a Sensible Drull. @Ookla of Ravens has also been slain. They were a Sensible Drull. Having reached parity, Illwei, @Ooklil the Wei, the lone Enlightened Drull, has won the game! My sincere thanks to my IM @Araris Valerian for watching over me, to my balance consultant @DrakeMarshall for their advice, and to you, the players for joining me on this journey. Final Vote Tally Mat / OT Destined (4): Illwei / OT Wei, JNV Illwei / OT Wei (2): Mat / OT Destined, Raven / OT Ravens Word Sneak Results The following players are owed incredible prizes for their efforts. In lieu of those, here’s some meaningless awards! @Ookla the Destined is awarded a hefty trophy filled with purple and yellow confetti! @Stick. has won a Bag of Beans! @Ookla of Ravens has won a single coin, with the words Death and Life inscribed on opposite sides! The award for guessing the most Word Sneaks goes to… no one! Nobody attempted that challenge, although TheRavenHasLanded thought Kasimir’s might have to do with mentioning his wrist... 7. "HELP HELP SOMEONE HAS ATTACKED. Oh, you're all already up." Rem rubbed his eyes. "I'm still a little sleepy, but I do want to clarify one thing. " I am a Thug. After I was attacked, I convinced Onon to reframe how I was portrayed in order to direct the kill towards less obvious places. I can envision no world where I and the other Thug are both innocent, so my vote is going on the other guy. Kindly reveal yourself so I can do that." * EDIT: “Now that I’ve taken care of some other business, allow me to more fully explain myself,” Rem said. “I suspected Sono on our first Day of meetings. When Onon waffled, I claimed my Thug role to them in an effort to show why I thought a Lurcher was a balanced fit for the Spiked. During the first Night, Onon somewhat carelessly announced to us all that there are two Thugs among us. Fearing that I would be targeted again by the killers in the Night, I asked them to alter that narrative to present me as a Lurcher. It was a longshot claim that I would be a Lurcher would two charges, and in retrospect, I suspect the Spiked didn’t believe it. Onon should have left a recap of these events with his personal confidants who may speak up to verify it.”
  8. The game is over! The Aftermath will be up no sooner than 4 hours from now. Vote Count: Mat (4): Illwei, JNV Illwei (2): Raven, Mat NK: Raven Winner:
  9. QF69: Cycle Three: The Ironkeeper's Blade “What’s the quickest way we can figure this out?” mused Bastam. “I know the perfect test!” Kelk pushed their way to the front, dragging behind them a black blade the length of two drull. “After the last great battle, I recovered this sword from the crushed carcass of an Ironkeeper. As you know, the Legion of Empty Death was animated by the Dark One himself. We will balance the blade on this stone and make it rotate-“ “Kind of like spin the bottle?” “And the residual, almighty power of the Dark One will point the blade towards our suspect.” “It’s basically spin the bottle.” The drull gathered in a circle. “SPIN. SPIN. SPIN.” Kelk gave the sword a push. It whirled, and immediately decapitated Stick. The drull cheered. Kelk scowled at them. “That’s not what supposed to happen, you fools! When blood is shed with this, it, it requires a sacrifice.” His grey-blue skin turned white as the sword exacted its toll. Kelk's lifeforce drained into it, leaving nothing but a withered corpse. The mob was unperturbed. “WHO’S NEXT!” @Stick. was killed on purpose. They were a Sensible Drull. Kelk @Kasimir was killed by accident (NKed)! They were a Sensible Drull. This cycle ends in 24 hours, at 8pm EST on November 30th. Players: Clarifications
  10. It is said that on Mirandus there are no days or nights, nor hours and seconds, and yet. The drull knew it was time to finish their discussion for now. BE QUIET
  11. Rem kindled a fire to throw his notes into. "This is fine." "I have no intentions of joining our... I guess ally then! I have no intentions of joining Sono in the Great Beyond, so I will be making liberal use of my Lurcher ability to defend myself." He fingered his coin purse subconsciously. "Actually no, I'll flip a coin to decide whether I self protect or if I stand guard outside the home of someone I trust."
  12. "SonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescenceSonoluminescence."
  13. " ya think" Rem threw out their ballot and filled in a new one accusing Sono again. "Hey Sirta, just checking, who'd you shoot?"
  14. "I suppose there's a world where Pending is a Thug, but that doesn't explain how they correctly guessed your role out of three or four reasonable options. Perhaps a Seeker teammate could be involved, I'll grant you that. But then why would he announce the result, unless he is, as you guess, a Thug. The question then is did Pending feel endangered enough to be simply buying time with bold moves? "What ya fail to mention here is the possibility of you having enough metal for another shot toNight. If we shoot Pending and he simply dies, we go to seven. If the Spiked fire off two successful kills, we go to five. That's a loss with three Spiked in play before we can execute you. If there's only two, we could theoretically trade kills and enter a Day with one Spiked and two villagers. They'd have a protection advantage, but if they mess up that vote, we lose."
  15. QF69: Cycle Two: The Evermouth’s Feast “We agrees! Aeorgh is the most likely traitor to our ways?” The crowd cheered, Bastam's voice among them, saying, “yes… this… this is right.” “Then release the EVERMOUTH!” A giant, snarling lizard beast tore around the corner. It’s crocodile-like jaws clamped down on Aeorgh, swallowing them whole. “EAT. EAT. EAT.” The drull raised their spears in celebration. Koran watched the as the folds of skin around the Evermouth’s belly seemed to ripple as the drull inside tried to claw its way out. “I think she’s still alive.” “Should be,” grinned the drull next to them. “Usually takes a couple of hours to digest.” “Riiight. I just remembered that I have somewhere to be. Goodbye!” Koran bolted, his illusionary disguise shimmering, then falling as he ran. “He was human! A spy from the Kingdom of Light!” “Better that than a corrupted drull. Come, we must find the rot within us. Who’s next?” In the distance, Koran screamed as they came across the rest of the Evermouth pack. @Ookla the Resolute has been executed! They were a Sensible Drull. @Ookla the Bald has been chased off (NKed). They were a Sensible Drull. This cycle ends in 24 hours, at 8pm EST on November 29th. Players: I am rescinding the @ the person you're voting for recommendation. It wasn't necessary (but you may still do it if you'd like!). I'd also like to clarify that the site-pre-selected colors known as Pumpkin and Carrot are not red. Pale Red, Strong Red, and old-school coded red are reds. Those who choose to play color Russian roulette do so at their own risk.
  16. Rem had the urge to brag that they had an impeccable record recently of figuring out who was evil in the same round that someone else scanned them. But that didn't make sense because Rem only existed in this world. "Why'd you have to announce that right after I talked myself into thinking you might be evil?"
  17. Hark! There's a little under two hours left. Please correct me if necessary.
  18. Rem clocked the new person in town. "Welcome to the investigation! You don't need to get too bogged down in what was at the expense of being present." They then searched their memories for what they knew of Lord Pending. They had started off strongly, in Rem's opinion. He remembered when they broke a many-way tie. "I like that kind of confidence. It's a shame it shriveled up at the end of the Day." "I'm not sure this logic holds up. I'm just a cowboy with a gambling addiction, but from my humble perspective, abilities being charge-limited makes them more likely to be duplicated. I wasn't willing to kill/not kill on the basis of a Lurcher role-claim in this context, so I don't see the point in this ask." Rem sighed. "The crux of Onon's accusation against Pending is what they haven't done. Looking specifically at the second half of the Day, I can see it. You'd expect their (gentlemanly) killer instinct to ramp up, rather than to ramp down, as it did." "And yeah, this was like a burrowsquirrel tap-dancing. I tip my hat to Dasenk though for limiting the suspect pool, rather than seizing on an opportunity to expand it. Unless paired with Onon, I think this is a bold intervention for them to immediately make." Rem pondered whether Pending had been behind the Revir kill, but they'd declined to claim it, so it was a moot point. Sono called out to them. "You're right that this is a quick vote. So quick, I had it down a Day ago!" Rem pulled out their trusty die. "But sure, I'm willing to spice things up a little. Sirta, Rilla, Pending, or you? Sirta! You stand accused of being bad luck. I'll justify that later, but I spent all my thoughts on trying to figure out Lord Pending." edit: Sono
  19. I do not consider this to be a vote.
  20. This is a special request from the GM. It's technically voluntary, but to avoid situations where someone changes their name mid-Cycle and I can't figure out who your vote refers to, I'd appreciate if you'd @ people you vote for as well.
  21. Quick Fix 69: Cycle One: A Corrupted Kretchsire “I haven’t hurt a soul!” “That’s exactly our point! Drull are killers.” They dragged Ionil away from the field of sprouts. “Who else have you corrupted with your pacifism?” Her heels kicked up an angry cloud of red dust. “The binary of Light and Dark is an illusion. We can chart our own path!” “Who have you corrupted?” “I will die with that secret. The first ever drull to die not in service of the Narrative.” “Then die,” said the mob. “Who’s next?” Ionil was executed! They were an Enlightened Drull. * Welcome to QF69! I'm your GM, Archer. Basics Each Day and Night are combined into one 24-hour-long Cycle. Every Cycle, there is an execution, which is decided by a vote. The minimum number of votes somebody can be exed by is 1. Ties result in no death. Every Cycle, one of the Enlightened Drull can submit an order to kill one player. If you don't post for two cycles in a row, you will be removed from the game and, if one is available, replaced by a pinch hitter. If none are available, you die. PMs are not open. Votes are submitted using RED TEXT. Please do not overuse red text or similar colors. Once a vote has been submitted, it can not be revoked for the rest of the cycle. EXCEPT, once per game, players may submit an order in their GM PM to either i) secretly remove their vote or ii) secretly double their vote. The vote tally will reflect the change, but the names will not. This can be done in addition to submitting a kill order. All actions occur simultaneously. Alignments Sensible Drull: You win when all the Enlightened Drull are eliminated. Enlightened Drull: You have a shared doc in which to conspire. You win when you reach parity with the Sensible Drull. Bonus Activity: Word Sneak Over the centuries, a handful of travellers have moved between the realms. As you were stalking one once, you heard them say a funny-sounding phrase. As an inside joke, like to slip it into your conversations. Players will be assigned a short phrase at the start of the game. Any players who use their phrase three times in-thread (in roleplay of out-of-character speech) before the end of the game without it being guessed by other players wins a (meaningless) prize! Players may guess other players' phrases in their GM PMs. Once they get one wrong, they may not guess again. Guesses may be slightly more than correct, but they can not contain omissions. The player who makes the most correct guesses wins an even greater (meaningless) prize! Schedule The game begins NOW, on Monday, November 27 at 8pm EST (GMT-5). The cycle ends in 24 hours, on November 28th at 8pm. Ookla Season Rules Please put your previous name in your member title. It’d also make my life easier if you’d ping the person you vote for to make it perfectly clear who you’re accusing. Participants IM: Araris Players @Ookla the Destined (Matrim's Dice) @Ookla the Resolute (Aeoryi) @Kasimir as Kelk @Stick. @Ookla the Bald (The Known Novel) as Koran @Illwei @JNV @Ookla of Ravens (Theravenhaslanded) as Bastam Please tell me if you signed up but did not receive a GM PM!
  22. "WAKE UP! WAKE UP! I'VE BEEN ATTACKED!" Rem ran through the streets, banging on doors. "Who attacked you?" someone asked. "HARD TO SAY." If they'd witnessed Revir's murder, they might have been inclined to think of it as a villager Coinshot, based on how it had been framed. "How did you survive?" "That's a secret I'd rather not share. Please, no autographs. Okay, maybe a few..." Sono
  23. "I really need to take an isolated look at Pending. I'll grant you that their foray against Onon looked forced, but I didn't feel comfortable switching to that vote. An evil Sono implies an innocent Pending, based on how the votes went, so I was hoping one of they or Revir would take action. Do I believe, after how the dream ended, that Pending didn't know the tie rules?" Rem shrugged. He wasn't happy with how things had turned out. "I'm not swayed by the role-related argument for Sono's innocence. I don't think Onon is evil, but they certainly are the person who helped Sono out there." Although some significant inaction had also been a factor, so Rem was interested in looking at the people who sat on the sidelines. Making matters worse, no one had died, so no one's horse was available to be borrowed.
