Wow. That's quite the write-up. A point of clarification though, I've yet to see a DA member actually sell a cookie. As far as I can tell they make them for *ahem* 'scientific reasons', or to give away for free as gifts (with ulterior motives of course ). Not really selling per say.

I actually have no idea what the psychology behind people's upvoting is. I turned off the option to get notifications whenever someone upvotes me. I'm still not sure if it was the right call or not, since I have no idea what my popular posts are anymore. I do get less notifications now, but sometimes I'll log in and be greeted by a new rep title and no obvious reason why. It's flattering and confusing all at the same time. That said, I'm told being funny is a good strategy. Especially self-deprecating humour (I've yet to get the hang of that one) and clever pop-culture references (remember half the people on here are from Utah. So joke about BYU, hoodoos, county fairs, rectangles etc. They'll love it).

Welcome! I haven't read all the books you mentioned, so I skipped over some of the bits that might spoil stuff for me. As a result, I can't answer your question. A good place to ask hard questions is the Q&A section. There's usually some pretty knowledgeable people who will give you an answer. Another resource you might try is the Arcanum (see links dropdown for the link) which is a collection of transcripts of recordings of Brandon answering fan questions among other things.

You've probably already noticed, but a cool feature of this site is the swearing filter. If you common swear words, they get turned into cosmere equivalents. If you have a colourful vocabulary, you could mine words that way. But to get you started, these spring to mind: Lord Ruler, slontze, colors, calamity, sparks, storms, stormfather.

Funny story about Seagulls! When it came out I binge listened to it for weeks, then totally forgot about it. Then out of the blue one day it came up on a playlist and my brain was like 'I got this'. Sang the whole thing right up until the log interlude. *high-fives memory I never knew I had* +1 to Hooked on a Feeling I'd mention a Hamilton one, but it's explicit. So my actual suggestions: if you're fine with more than one Bon Jovi on the list, Because we can and thick as thieves are good. And keeping with the classic music theme (because modern music just isn't the same) ELO's Mr Blue Sky and The Clash's London Calling are fabulous
