  1. There was no one outside the basement, what had happened there? "Kira?" Lewis said. "Is everything alright?" It sounded silly to ask something like that, but they hadn't seen anything since they left the living room. @Ookla the Random
  2. Well, I understood the thread as trying to make a good guy look bad even if he wasn't and vice versa, so that's what I did, not that I really believe he's bad you know.
  3. A case against Kaladin: Lighteyes: His hatred for them is inhuman, he can't even be near one without glaring at them. Oh sure, he treated Laral and Shallan alright, but they are both pretty girls, and as soon as he saw that he lost his chance, he started ignoring them. There were clearly some hidden motives there. Amaram: Can a person really hate another so much that they keep a desire to kill for a year? He even threw away all his plans just for a chance to kill him. What plans you ask? Well... The Kholins: A good family that was kind to him from the beginning. He resisted himself at first, but then saw that they were his chance to do things his way. The best way to get power is to stay close to it after all. Elhokar: Once more his hatred almost ruined all his plans. The moment he hears about a plan to kill the king he almost jumped to his feet. Of course, that wouldn't look good on the eyes of the other Kholins but getting rid of a king surely would be the fastest way to become one, right? This logic was wrong of course, as his judgement was flawed by his craving for blood. He realized that in the end and kept going with his original plan. Gavinor: Of course, Kaladin got what he wanted in the end and Elhokar died. And left a son. Who's the first to run to pick him up? Kaladin of course. What would be better than to get even closer to the royal family by earning the trust and affection of a young and suceptible child? Conclusion: Kaladin is a potential dictator that will kill every lighteyes on Roshar given the chance.
  4. Lewis walked up to the others from his spot in the wall. He had been watching them talk and it had been, uncomfortable. But fortunately, the conversation was back to evil plots, and the more it went on, the more proof there was that checking that alley had been the end of his luck, and he wasn't even getting paid. But he couldn't leave now, these people, they weren't just killing random persons in an alley, they had taken hundreds of innocent lives and there was no one to stop them. But now there was. "Looking for someone to pick us up sounds like a good idea but, will we make it? It could take time to find someone willing." he said.
  5. And in case you can, if you bond an I-really-need-to-pee spren do you get a perpetual need to pee? Or do you give it to others? The latter would be really useful in the battlefield.
  6. Edwin made a longer way to school than last time. He would probably have to stop getting away from the straight path if he wanted to keep getting there in time but he told himself it was alright for now. The street he was on looked risky even on broad daylight, it was oddly empty and it looked fairly run-down, it probably hadn't been renovated in decades. He heard a sound to his left, a bush had moved. A Voidbringer? Now? He stood there, ready to fight, or run, he wouldn't be sure until he saw it, the bush shook more violently until... A gray cat walked out of it, looking wary but curious. Edwin relaxed, feeling like a fool for being scared. He squatted and extended a hand to the cat, it didn't move, he took part of the sandwich he had packed for lunch and put it on the ground before him. The cat started walking, slowly at first, then at a run and started eating. Up close he looked really thin, like he hadn't eaten in days. "Poor thing, she's so cute." said Twinkle. She? Well, might be. Wait a minute. He checked his phone, it was getting really late. He got up and started to walk away from the cat but stopped after a few steps. Would it be fine on its own? Well, a few minutes late won't hurt. Edwin took off his jacket and pushed it inside the backpack over his books, then put the rest of the sandwich over it, and finally the cat. He closed the backpack but just enough for it to not open on its own, so the cat could breathe, and continued his way to school, ready for the reprimand that awaited him at the classroom. "I hope the others won't mind." he said. "It'll be alright." answered Twin. Edwin hoped she was right.
  7. Glad to read it, then the fandom will wait for you. This thread doesn't see much activity but if you have anything to say, here it is.
  8. Always happy to help a new potential fan (seriously, we need more fans. The series is so niche right now we're constantly wondering if the next game will be localized.) And yeah, the "everything is connected" factor was a huge reason for me to get invested into this series, and it just keeps increasing. As I played through the series (and I'm not even done yet) I remember going from "This is a good RPG but meh." to "Hey, this is actually pretty cool." to "I've found my favorite game." to "Will there ever be a series that surpasses this one?". I may be over exaggerating but it's what it felt like to me. The world is huge, detailed and shrouded in mystery, the music is masterful, the characters start as walking tropes and grow to be practically living people, it's great. About the gameplay, as I said it's a bit old school but the combat system, though it's kinda simple at first, has a really interesting magic system which is really fun to mess with. You can go the easy route just learning the bare minimum, or you can try to master it and end up with really broken characters, which may sound bad but it's really satisfying because you know it's thanks to your inventiveness. And, when the time comes remember this. Choose a few NPCs you like and talk to them on every opportunity you have. NPCs are actually the selling point of the series for many people and, well, for something that simple to enchant that many people it has to be good, right? And I'm already rambling. Sorry, I tend to get a little too excited when it comes to this subject. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it when the time comes.
  9. There's no way out of that, and the best/worst part is that you won't regret it.
  10. Yes there is and yes it is. The series is divided into arcs which consist of several games (so far the shortest being 2 games long and the longest 4), which are set in different contries with different protagonists. At first when starting the second or third arc it might seem there's no relation with the earlier entries aside from the world but as you advance you start seeing recurring characters and in the background the overarching plot that got introduced in the first one. This has been running for 15 years and apparently there are at least another 3 arcs left so as you can imagine, the scope is huge. Because of this, the first game can feel somewhat slow. In fact, I'm not gonna lie to you, it's the slowest paced game I've ever played. You only see information about the country you are in in that game and only get bits and pieces about anything that isn't directly related to the protagonists, and the story takes about 40 hours to take off, but once you finish that first game, you'll be addicted. You probably already know about this but Trails in the Sky is 3 games and the first is called Trails in the Sky FC (stands for First Chapter), so you can start from there if you don't mind the gamplay and graphics being a bit old school, the story, characters and world definitely make up for it. It can be daunting at first but I hope that doesn't stop you, it's a great series.
  11. Edwin finished his toast and a glass of apple juice and went upstairs to get his backpack. Then waved at the people downstairs. "I'll go ahead." he said and left for the front door. He preferred walking to school.
  12. Somehow I'm sad that the biggest lose in the Ookla community didn't involve 20,000 people, I thought there were more.
  13. Oh storms, I was winning by, like two months now. I'll never get to a year at this pace.
  14. Honestly, for me the old one looked seriously outdated. It looked like it was made back in like 2005 (which probably was, I don't really know).
  15. I'd say the mobile version is still in development, since there's only one option available in the menu. It will probably update again soon, I hope.
  16. "You could always call and say you're sick. I just hope not everyone has the same idea, I might sleep through half the classes." said Edwin putting butter on a piece of toast.
