I made a friend take the quiz. I explained to her briefly what Elsecallers and Lightweavers were (the first because that's what she got and she asked if it was a good or a bad thing, and the second because she wanted to know what I had gotten), and she seems interested. Nothing sure yet since to begin with she hasn't finished her quarantine reading list, but apparently she will at least look into the series to see if it's something she'd like to read. This quiz might be a good way to introduce people to the series. Edit: So, she made another friend take the quiz now (another Elsecaller, they're a couple so I find it interesting). I'll be so happy if both of them end up reading the books.

Lewis took a cautious step into the building. The lights were on but there was no one directly inside. It surely wouldn't be empty, but clearly the people they were looking for didn't think necessary to have more than a couple guards directly at the entrance. On the way up though, they were sure to meet some of them. "I think we're good for now, but we should be careful. It's too bright inside, it won't be easy to hide." @I think I am here. @WrathofaShardKitten

What skills have you learned during Quarantine?
Eluvianii replied to NattyBo's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I've been wanting to start with piano again, but it's true what they say, it's harder to pick up an instrument you already played than a new one. Hopefully with school ending this week I'll be able to spend time on that instead of procrastinating. -
Weathering with You:

(Sorry, I couldn't resist the urge to correct this. In this case it's "muchas")

What if every fictional world we've created is actually real in another dimension, and the idea to create it came from "something" from that dimension seeping into ours?
-
Now that you mention it, I always thought they could move over ropes by removing their friction, which would probably work with the thickest ones, but the thinnest ones would turn into knives, so yeah, adding friction sounds more useful for those situations.

I was thinking, this is really great. I think most of us wanted to know which order we would fit into, but from lack of information it was kinda hard. I legitimately thought at some point we would have to wait till book 10 at this rate. Then the quiz came, which is good, really fun to do, but the important part is the new info on every order. We now have full personality traits for each one. I kinda identified with the Willshapers but only based on the literal one or two sentences we had about them. Now I was sorted with the Lightweavers and I ended up agreeing, because of that new info. If someone doesn't agree with their result it doesn't matter, the quiz itself says you should read the description for each order and pick one. Everyone can self-sort now and have a result they're happy with. So with new people converting to this series each day and with the success the quiz is seeing, it probably won't be long until you can ask a random fantasy fan about their order and they can confidently say "I'm an Elsecaller" or ”I'm with the Windrunners". Personally I'm excited.
-
Go ahead, our new order will be unstoppable! And yeah, you could grab any consecutive group of three and get all three by combining the extremes. Guess we got lucky with the results.
-
I'm actually hoping for Rysn to fulfill that role.
-
Just wait until people start taking their first two results and mixing them and making up new ideals for the combination. I call dibs on Lightshaper.
-
Well, I didn't really like ending up with Lightweaver, but after reading the description I'm actually really satisfied.

I got Bad Gateway, any chance there are so many people trying to take it that the server collapses? Edit: Wait, now it's under maintenance.

Trails of Cold Steel (and the Kiseki series in general)

It's not the best way to do it but it's valid. The most important part is the story so.. -

For now all 9 games combined cover around 4 years in Zemuria's history. The most we get about the past are certain stories, similar to flashbacks but not quite, and they're usually from before the Great Collapse. As for how big Zemuria is, here's a map: -
Who LOVES The Legend of Zelda!

If the Nasuverse and the SMT universe taught me something, it's that anything can be canon if you want it to be. Also yeah, Wind Waker is great, one of the best final battles out there. Beware of generic controllers, some last but others don't, original ones can be thrice the price but it's worth it. -

Not mainline but I've been playing a lot of Hyrule Warriors Legends these past few days. I can't believe it, I expected it to be good, fun, but this is amazing. The amount of fanservice is astounding in a good way, the soundtrack is godly and the gameplay which I was told was repetitive and boring is frenetic and intense and addictive instead. Also it never ends. I'm only 13 hours in but I've already beaten what appear to be, 2 main storylines? And there are more, side stories apparently, and maybe more main, I don't know, it wouldn't surprise me (I mean, I haven't seen credits rolling yet) and I wouldn't complain. Really surprised with how good this is. -

The shining ones are the best way to gain levels quickly, but normal attacks are useless, only 200CP S-crafts are any good against them. I'm at risk of making up stuff though, shining poms still exist on Cold Steel, right? -

Speed is probably the reason I couldn't beat Ao on hard. There came a point when certain bosses had way too many turns. -
I'm realizing I don't have a favorite series. If pressed I would eventually say Stormlight or Wheel of Time, (not that I have finished either yet), but I would hesitate first, and that for me is a clear sign that neither is actually my favorite. You know that feeling with your anything favorite of "Oh my gosh, I'm so in love with this I can't find any flaws in it whatsoever!"? I don't feel that with any book series yet. I should probably start looking for one.

Me. I think I tried them during middle school and I didn't get far. I liked it, but I'm a slow reader and library time constraints can be a problem. Right now I'm interested but a "Sometime in the eventual future" kind of interested.

I liked it. It's not exactly a "Top 10 thought-provoking movies of all time" but I would watch it again. Also, I really should watch Parasite.
