  1. The second trilogy would be the closest to the 1940's setting but that's about a Nicroburst pursuing a Mistborn serial killer I believe.
  2. For adding images there's a little button if you're using the full(non-mobile) version of the site just below and to the left of the smiley button. Alternatively you can just copy and paste an image I believe. Welcome to the insanity of the 17th Shard! Have a welcome cookie and upvote.

    Wax's Spike

Could be but I don't think Inquisitors often had those. And again, the charge would be so depleted that it likely matters little what it contains.
  4. Welcome new lurkers, the Dark Alleys are always open to those who seek them.
  5. I've heard that it actually makes it harder to tell the truth as well, any kind of answer that involves more than simply dredging up and revealing a memory becomes more difficult so it may just increase the odds that the person so drugged won't answer at all. That said, this needs to happen to Reader anyway
  6. Could just be limited to non-lethal dosages but I do think it's more likely to be hallucinatory rather than chemical in nature.
  7. I wonder if people still get hangovers after Intervention makes them drunk. Hungover!Lightwards waking up to his museum getting attacked could be fun.
  8. No problem, it's not too out of character, he'd just be more likely to react by trying to chop the dice in half than try to catch it. I imagine battle would hone the instinct to not just catch things your enemies throw at you On the familiar intangibility thing I meant more getting trapped by the door, I have no idea if chronomancy would affect them. But yeah I think it's all within bounds of reason for Samuel, he's had a stressful day of trying to burn everyone so he might be a little more susceptible to trickery, and I do like it for story purposes since he'd stay in contact with other Player characters this way.
  9. 1. If she discovered that as a secret why didn't Prof do the same? Firefight spoilers It would be a cool idea but I just don't see it.
  10. Sorry to hear that, I know the feeling about being at college without a job, luckily I'm not at risk of being homeless anytime soon though. Also congratulations on the job I guess I wrote that they both teamed up with Synesthesia at the moment, so if there's anyone with a Thoughttown Epic who'd like to fight them we could start a PM to plan it out. I would put up Strongsteel but he's trying to avoid using his powers right now and he's not particularly combative.
  11. Hey Unodus, just a couple of notes on that last post. In future I'd prefer if you ask before taking quite so many liberties with writing Samuel's reactions, particularly with something as plot changing as him getting kidnapped. Partly just because it's polite but also because he really wouldn't have reacted like that. He was already expecting an attack of some kind and had one hand on his sword, the second he noticed a time differential he would have drawn and probably used his Word of Force to buy some time for himself. For Murk as well since I think that Familiars can become semi-intangible. Funnily enough if he'd just cheated at the toss and insisted he take Samuel as his prisoner he would have just laughed and gone along with him. As it is I suppose I can just chalk it up to seeing a weird type of magic for the first time and keep the scene as is on Samuel's part, not sure how Kobold feels about Murk.
  12. After having met and teamed up with a league of other supervillains.
  13. And even more unfortunately, the same personality.
  14. Just a guess. Even outside of cosmere novels Brandon uses similar metaphysics sometimes. Like the camera from legion having something similar to Allomantic time bubbles bond with the planet. My guess would be that it has something to do with how the resurectee perceives themselves so a long enough period of time as a panda may cause their self-perception to shift.
  15. I'd think so for most resurrectionists but it could depend on how quickly after they were turned into a panda they died.
  16. If you make more Epics in future would you mind just editing into your first post in the Epics of Oregon thread? Just to try to prevent it becoming too long and so it's easy to see who has which Epics.
  17. And after suffering a fly-pig related blow to the head Scribbler created a massive sound system for the theme-music.
  18. Some fireworks and theme-music wouldn't go amiss I think it's great as it is though.
  19. Not particularly useful, no. But minor Epics need to pretend they're useful somehow. Scrapyard will probably join them later and do most of the actual digging.
  20. Vorinism, Shu-Korath, Shu-Dereth, Jeskeri Mysteries, Shu-Keseg, Stone shamanism, Steel Ministry, Church of the Survivor, Pathism, Austre, Terris, Purelaker (Nu Ralik) Sazed's religions bonus: Dadradah, Trellism, Larstaism, Astalsi I just did a Mistborn readthrough Quote four of David's metaphors/similes (Doesn't have to be word perfect obviously)
  21. And even for where there are not consequences it's not exactly handwaved, it has been explained that Feruchemy generally protects against the side effects of it's use.
  22. Welcome to the forums! The social groups are always a lot of fun to watch, and we have some great RPs if you're interested. But really all of the forums here are amazing, it's just up to personal preference.
  23. A cool mist formed slowly in the otherwise clear night, resolving into a streak of pink. Neverthere watched the attack proceed, sitting on the edge of Thought Town's walls, feet dangling over the edge. Having swiftly overcome the border the Epics had all split off, Refill leaving by himself into the halls of Though Town. What an idiot. The first person with a gun who realizes who he is will kill him in a heartbeat. His words of being just as good as the High Epics had sounded very grand but in practice, there were quite obvious differences. While a true High Epic could stride through an entire army without any fear whatsoever, Epics like Refill would still be forced to sneak around, hiding their true nature. Briefly, she contemplated projecting next to him to help him sneak through the guards. Bah. He deserves whatever happens to him. I wonder what Wardy's up to, maybe I should check up on him again. The streak of pink dissipated back into mist. Yorrick did his best to ignore his enthusiastic companion, content to let the exuberant Stitch do the talking he slowly guided them through the twilight to the cemetery. He sent a skull ahead to open the gates, the ethereal flames licking the bleached white bone provided some light among the gloom. The flickering lights revealed the tombstones of countless hundreds. Most were old, people didn't have a lot of time for proper funerals anymore, but some few were new and well maintained, the wealthier inhabitants of Portland had done their best to respect those who had left them. "So. Pick a grave and start digging?" Yorrick waved his hand towards a nearby grave, sending his skulls towards it to begin digging, flaming teeth straining against the ground.
  24. Yeah I was going to say, I'm not sure exactly why but most are tidally locked. So unfortunately only half the planet would get to see the rings. The 400,000 km was just the maximum distance the planet could be, that would give the full 3-earth-day cycle, anywhere between the Roche limit and that would be possible, although if it is inside the rings that raises some further problems that need solving. I'm a bio/chem major so most of my physics comes from helping friends in other classes and my goal to read every book in the library. (I'm about 0.0000000001% done) but I've always loved physics.
