  1. Voidus looked at the ground sheepishly. "Special Atium spikes that steal people's birthdays so I can celebrate more than one a year. But I've managed to keep them secret so far so I'm the only one who knows the correct bindpoint for making them."
  2. Interestingly another collective for a group of cats is a comfort of cats, which these cats most certainly are not.
  3. Shall do, I suspect Scribbler will be referring to her copy of 'how to be snarky to Epics' by Sam and Revolution quite a bit
  4. Bioterror is on his way to Astoria accompanied by some awesome music. In other news I am all out of Easter chocolate
  5. Bioterror pulled the last member of the family out of the car, none of them had any physical signs of trauma to their body, he'd simply destroyed their nerve cells in an instant, eliminating their brains and killing them quickly and painlessly. Sometimes he liked to draw out deaths but these puny specimens didn't even deserve that, they'd just happened to have a car that still had some gas in the tank after his bike had run out. Starting the engine he wished once more that he had a mode of transportation other than driving. He'd tried growing himself some wings once but the levels of modifications he'd needed were just too numerous and too inconveniencing for everyday life. Driving down the empty highway gave him plenty of time to think, he'd decided to move to a bigger city, the smaller towns he'd been visiting lately just couldn't sustain him long enough. Every time he used his abilities he invariably killed a few dozen people and ensured a few dozen more would flee the city, this last town had only lasted him a month after arriving before everyone was either dead or gone. Well now he was going to find a city, he didn't want to bother with taking one over so one already with a firm leadership, stable population and a few other strong Epics to ensure that things stayed as they were, his services would be invaluable to any ruling Epic of course and they would accept him immediately. Few Epics could kill so many or so quickly as Bioterror could. He mentally ran through his options as he drove, mostly just looking out the window to watch the ocean and making occasional corrections. He briefly considered continuing on to Portland but then he didn't think there was any firm leadership there, he could just bypass Oregon completely and keep heading down the coast but he really didn't want to make this a long trip. He'd heard good things about Astoria though, home to Lucentia the diamond queen and he was already on the coast so it wouldn't be a long trip. "Well" Bioterror mused to himself "Can't hurt to check it out, and if it doesn't work out there's plenty of smaller places to keep me amused while I look for somewhere else." He put in a CD of his preferred driving music and took the turn off to Astoria to the wonderful tunes of Clint Mansell's Lux Aeterna.
  6. So Winter I'm trying to write my first post and I'm torn between using the character that Newan came up with or making one of my own but in the same position, did you have any ideas for interactions between characters that might influence things?
  7. Apparently it would be adorable.
  8. In a contest of sheer facial follicular purity the great beard of PP shall surely be triumphant but the subtle nature and dignity of a well kept mustache can be impressive in it's own right.
  9. It also makes him look like he'd get along fabulously with Aldo and Colonel Kernel of Connel.
  10. Do the others all hate Quota as much as we do?
  11. Together their rule would last an eternity! Their powers would be unstoppable.
  12. I knew there was a reason I felt like that name was familiar When? When is it coming!? I want it now
  13. Did someone say they needed cannon fodder?
  14. On that subject I propose that before we got all out nuking Oregon that we bring in an Epic known only as the Protector of pugs who automatically creates force fields around all pugs in the same state as him whenever they're in danger. It only says there are no people left in Oregon, not no pugs so I choose to believe it's still canon.
  15. I had a Reckoners dream once where I discovered that Steelheart makes amazing home-made pizzas.
  16. Welcome to the madness, Would you care for a welcome cookie?
  17. Neverthere looked at the blood bursting from underneath her in surprise, one moment Numnums had been smashing through the streets and gotten himself a tasty snack, the next what had looked like a laser beam had cut through the chill night, severing the Allosaurs flesh and causing blood to spray all over the street. Seemingly oblivious of the blood which was passing straight through her incorporeal projection, Neverthere looked to the man who was the source of the beams. She vaguely remembered seeing him when she was spying on Corpsemaker earlier that day, though she'd not noticed what his powers were then and none of the other members of the MEE had recognized the description. A newcomer then? Or perhaps just someone who had flown under the radar. Either way, he just lost me my evenings entertainment and has now royally pissed me off. Slapping an inane smile on her face Neverthere skipped through the pile of dinosaur blood and flesh towards the Epic. "Hiya!" She said as she stopped a respectable distance away, enough to seem like she was wary of their powers "That wasn't very nice to poor mr. Numnums you know, he was just hungry being all cooped up with stuffy old Wardy all day and he wanted some fun." She looked back at the Allosaurus as it twitched, blood pouring liberally onto the streets. Her grin slid from insane and childish to grim and murderous in an instant. "And now you've gone and killed him so I have nothing to do. I loathe not having anything to do, so either you can try to find out how to entertain me or else I can find a way to entertain myself which will no doubt lead to Corpsemaker being reeeeeeeally angry with you guys. Or maybe I'll just go visit him directly" She said, shifting her projection around rapidly before appearing directly in front of the Epic "I hear he doesn't cope well against teleporters."
  18. Just storing the extra muscle probably wouldn't work since you'd still be affected by Hemalurgy and so still be a Koloss, just a really weak one. Another potential problem is that you'd have trouble remembering the plan once you got spiked since you'd be a Koloss and just want to kill everyone.
  19. Awesome as it would be I think he'd probably corrupt pretty quickly, he'd want to be the hero too much to avoid using his powers.
  20. Compilation post: As Shuster reached the entrance to the tunnel, he turned to analyse the courtyard one last time. Neither Ned or Joran had returned... Which either meant the tunnel was the only safe option, or they had both been killed. Neither were particularly enthusiastic possibilities. A few prison guards challenged the group, but they were clearly novices in combat- perhaps held back from the wall to do other tasks because of what they lacked in their skill in fighting. Any guard worth his sword was at the gate, holding off the Kings forces- and as a result, Shusters party of prisoners made its way across the courtyard relatively unchallenged. Turning back, Shuster ushered the already tiring prisoners on again "Keep moving! We can't stop now, we shall rest only once we are away from this battle!" Such was the support Shuster provided over and over as they ran through the tunnels. Approaching the exit to the tunnel, they found no one was guarding the end of the tunnel How strange... No one here? How refreshing to have a stroke of good luck for once... "We can't afford to stop here, men! We're not out of the woods yet, the city is in uproar- if any Inquisitor supporters spot us, it could cost us everything we’ve worked for. Follow me, I have been in this city long enough to know the back alleys where we won't disturbed." Fear was wearing the prisoners down, and each one looked ready to bolt in separate directions- yet they all pushed on regardless. One of these men must be the Father... Which one though? Shuster lead them through the maze of back streets, which were surprisingly quiet compared to when he had used them earlier. Everyone must be at the Town Square, listening to the denouncing of the Inquisitors... Well, I'll take any advantages I can get... The gang of Prisoners kept up their pace, and soon the Kings palace came into view. The hope in their eyes dimmed slightly as they passed signs of a recent battle. As the Guards started to approach, Shuster waved to them and shouted out urgently. "I must see the King immediately! Tell him his Mercenary has returned, with a few guests. Go quickly, Time is of the essence!" Anxiously, Shuster fidgeted nervously as one of the guards went back round the corner. Large battles always made him twitchy. Its ok to calm down now... We're out of the fight, all I need to do is deliver the Father- pick up the reward, and get the heck out of this forsaken city... Avar, King of Menkor, fidgeted with the Eagle-adorned crown on his brow as he listened to the report of his guard. The outer walls of Estgarde had fallen, and the few remaining Inquisition soldiers there were holed up in the tower, under siege. “Sir, the Northerner, Shuster, has returned, and he’s brought a gaggle of prisoners with him. He requests an immediate audience with your Majesty. Shall I show him in?” Avar smiled as he heard the news. Father Julian was out of that foul cell, and soon all would be as it should be. He had missed the aged priest’s advice these past years. “Yes, soldier. Show him in post-haste.” Samuel tested his gag once more, they’d done a good job of it, he’d been completely unable to move it enough even to get out one word. Which was lucky for his captors he supposed, one word and they’d all be dead before they could react. He reviewed what had happened in the tower in his minds eye, replaying the entire scene over and over from memory until he could make sense of it, what he’d done wrong, his surprise as the heretic had suddenly vanished from view, everything happening in a blur too fast for even his eyes to follow. He should have acted as soon as he’d noticed something strange, that sort of situation was exactly why the Inquisition had honed the Word of Power. His mind ran through it all once more, calmly analytical, his emotions he separated, seething and powerful though they were they would just distract him right now. He would think, meditate, recognise his mistakes and learn from them. Then, when he was free, he would kill the heretic along with whoever he served. He continued alternately tensing and relaxing all his muscles, steadily loosening his binds. Even without magic if he could free his hands and get a weapon… Well he’d been a lethal man for many years before he’d met Murk, he had no qualms about killing with steel instead of sorcery. Indeed he usually prefered it. Shuster was whispering to the prisoners as the guard returned, "Wait here while I speak with the king, and I'll see to it that you each receive your rewards for your efforts." Then after glancing at the prisoner Inquisitor- who was staring intensly at him like a wolf that had been tied down, added "Make sure to keep the prisoner with you, too- don't let the guards take him in until after the King and I have finished our discussion. Whatever you do, do not let him take off that gag." With that, Shuster left the prisoners and followed the guard to the Kings room. On the way, he tried to clean himself up a little: straightening his hat, wiping the blood of his coat, and other such exercises in attempt to make him seem more presentable. Upon arriving, unsure how to greet the king- Shuster bowed awkwardly, trying to impersonate the guards. Rising, Shuster spoke carefully to explain himself. "My Liege, sorry to keep you waiting. There were... Complications with the retrieval of the Father. It appears that there was an informant among your fellows who warned the inquisitors of our advance, which made the Fathers extraction more complicated than was predicted- I was forced to improvise. Fortunately, I was able to rescue all the surviving prisoners from the tower- and I managed to capture and restrain a full inquisitor. I figured he'd be worth more to you alive than dead, sir- and I made sure to have them all wait by the gates until our business is concluded. I'd love to stay and see you all reunited, sir- but business has callen me elsewhere, and I must depart soon. By your leave, I would like to take my pay as soon as possible- and make my way south, if that is alright with you. While working under you has indeed been an honour and a privilege, as a lowly mercenary- I am forced to swap coats for whichever employer pays best- I apologize for the inconvenience. But first, I would very much like to collect my earnings for todays hard work- 500 gold marks, plus my standard retainer, and a bonus 50 for the inquisitor? That sounds about right to me..." Shuster smiled hopefully. He needed the money desperately, and he wasn't the best at negotiating. Negotiating had always been her job, while he took down the targets. Now that she wasn't here, being a mercenary had become a great deal more difficult. At least he was starting to get the hang of it now...
  21. The Adventurer noticed the presence suddenly appear again, near where he'd been talking to Lockvault before. He struggled to load his rifle with the ammunition Lockvault had provided as he took up a position near the window. "They're back" He said, voice kept low as he finally managed to finish loading up. "Only one person, right near where we were just standing." He gestured back down the street to give the direction to his companion. "So, tactics? I think I can still fast travel during combat so my maneuverability should be pretty good, though I really think the devs need to patch that." The Adventurer continued somewhat critically. Looking over at Lockvault he noticed that he had a sniper out. "Woah sweet, you weren't kidding about having an awesome inventory were you? Well that simplifies things we can just camp here and spawn-kill whoever it is every time they appear. Not particularly nice or fair as a tactic but hey, they keep spawning in the same spot they're asking for it."
  22. When having a post:rep ratio of 1:1 was considered nearly impossible and only Brandon could dream of a higher ratio.
  23. A simpler time when reaching Kobolds reputation seemed like a reasonable goal Yeah I think that's all.
  24. Winter, in your last Astoria post did you mean for Brightdeath to immediately find the Adventurer and Lockvault? Because they teleported half a street away and are hiding in a building so I'm not sure how she'd manage to just teleport right on top of them like that.
  25. Neither was I, but it made for an awesome scene to read
