  1. Well prepare to be amazed in advance, he writes some of the best prose I've ever read.
  2. I did intend to include slippage in his powers as a side effect and a limiting factor, the exact ammount depending upon how OP whoever picks him up wants to be / what the setting demands, so feel free to correct me if needed
  3. As is always the case when the Reckoners RP invades a topic it quickly moves from whatever it's intended topic is to some form of random insanity and/or pugs/ponies.
  4. It's the same kind of progression as a half-life decay, an inverse exponential function but half-life is a specific example of it, so kind of yes kind of no
  5. I was in the middle of a reread when I realized I had no Sympathetic Epics (In both senses of the word) If someone could merge Brandon Sanderson and Pat Rothfuss I would be one very happy reader
  6. I think Winter did introduce another Epic commentator who just didn't speak much during the Savannah fights so if someone wanted to write them that'd be fine, or use their own Epic.
  7. I'm happy to leave it for Winter to write in the events when she's back, potentially in a flashback or else just exposition the whole thing when talking to Nighthound and for now just assume Whittle died somehow.
  8. Mistborn spoilers: Well I'd point out that Jasnah is an avowed atheist so there are certainly secular users of magic, but in general I think it's just an example of Sanderson naturally building coherent societies around his magic systems. If magic did exist it's pretty natural that people would develop religious beliefs about it, I don't think this necessarily implies that there must be a religion for the magic to develop. After all, no one could worship Returned before the Returned appeared, no one could worship Elantrians until after the first Elantrian.
  9. Or had a family member or loved one die from skin cancer. Fear of the sun is more commonly a phobia than a fear to my knowledge but it's by no means impossible. Also remember that it could be a representation of something, as with Newton her fear was not actually being complimented, it was that the compliments became the embodiement of her fear although they were only tangentially related.
  10. I understands the intention and the motives behind it but at the same time it can come across as somewhat pushy and arrogant, the implication is that either you haven't heard of the bible or christianity (Which let's be honest in this day and age is pretty much impossible) or that you weren't clever or open minded enough to accept the truths that seem obvious to the preacher. I know that that's obviously not what most people are thinking when they're preaching the gospels, they're just trying to share something that's given them joy with someone else. It's not a perfect analogy but I generally compare it to your favourite food. Personally mine is tacos, I can eat 20 tacos in a sitting because they're just awesome. It makes me happy, so if I may try to recommend them to other people so that they can taste the delicious awesomeness of tacos, but what I should not and do not do is try to tell someone who says that they don't like tacos that they're wrong and that tacos are amazing regardless of their opinion and try to force them to eat tacos, that person has their own favourite food that gives them happiness, I can't judge my happiness compared to theirs and force them into liking tacos if they don't. No harshness or criticism is meant from this post, it's not an accusation of the motives of those who try to share the gospel but rather the impressions of someone who's had it preached to them many times.
  11. Asking for help with an Epic idea while I'm online is opening the gate to a flood of several thousand suggestions
  12. Metronome 7 Soulcaster 6 Bone 7 Savannah 6 Brighthead 4 Inhuman 16 Deathskull 6 Substance 3
  13. SpaceJam: Gravitational manipulation and substance cushioning. Can cause a timed gravitational shift in any object he touches, though he lacks the ability to cancel or change the shift in gravity after he's applied it. Also has the ability to cause a cushioning effect in any material he touches, causing it to become soft and capable of cushioning a fall. Hephaestos: Fire Epic with secondary metal manipulating capabilities. Quickshift: Former street performer and sleight of hand expert, now a force manipulating Epic who can join two objects so that any force applied to one is also applied to the other. Pivotal: Can manipulate own rotational inertia. Viscera: Can manipulate atmospheric pressure, in combat creates a small ball of incredibly dense air which she feeds to her opponent, then allows it to expand again.
  14. I think it's due to Hemalurgic decay eventually shallowing out, I'm pretty sure it's exponential so it never quite reaches 0 it just gets pretty close, but that extra .1% is still enough to pierce copperclouds and any amount of extra Ruin would repel the Mists.
  15. Oh noes! The Alethi are holding our ninja emoti's captive!
  16. So if you're a paradoxspren does that mean you only appear when you don't? Welcome to the forums! Would you care for a cookie?
  17. Just gonna leave this here with no comment.
  18. I think it was confirmed somewhere that the earring was pewter, and also that it came from a dead Inquisitor, I'll try to hunt down the qoutes on it.
  19. She probably would have yes, she's given one to each of her parents so she can quickly protect them if needed. I'm somewhat tempted to have her dog become her super powered sidekick with various tattoo-endowed abilities but that might be stretching canon a bit
  20. I was leaning towards a beagle but why not mix some pug in there I guess. Well there you haveit folks, Scribbler is the proud owner of a Puggle.
  21. I think I may have mentioned Scribbler having a dog at some points but it's not in my notes on her backstory, regardless it's now been added so consider it canon that the Lockser family does indeed on a dog of some as yet undescribed breed.
  22. Lack of concern over impending moral doom, excitement over newfound powers. Lark's Epic status: Confirmed.
  23. Well I can rest easy in the knowledge that no one will ever discover my weakness. *Smug grin*
  24. What if people who can lick their own Elbow are Epics and we've entered the age of Calamity? Lark, do you feel any overwhelming urges to dehumanize or mistreat your fellow humans because they lack your divine elbow licking ability?
  25. Shhhh, we slowpokes have our own way of spelling things.
