  1. New Impact post up. Sorry. Neverthere was born in a nudist colony and just doesn't pay attention to clothing?
  2. Pulling her fist out of the last member of staff in the hospital, Impact looked down at her hands. Stained red from the mess she'd created. It would be easy enough to repel all the blood from her body but she thought it looked more intimidating to have blood dripping from her hands. It should also help to pull attention away from her injuries. Searching through the makeshift hospital she found a pair of earmuffs had fit her, pulling some of the medical tape off the pads on her ears and tucking them in allowed her to almost completely hide the injury. Combined with the program she'd downloaded onto her mobile to give text approximations of nearby speech and she should be able to fool at least a passing inspection. But for now she'd need to be careful around other Epics. Confident now that she wouldn't have to go into hiding she nudged the still-twitching corpse of Jeremy aside with one foot. His face now forever locked in an expression of surprise and betrayal. Even the one who'd already known she was an Epic had been surprised at the sudden violence that had been unleashed upon them. Utilizing her abilities to finish dressing, her pants sliding swiftly up her legs, seemingly of their own accord, Impact took one last look around the hospital, one final check to make sure she'd forgotten nothing. An ominous silence was all that greeted her, the occasional beep from a broken monitor was all that could be heard. Perhaps going through the maternity ward hadn't been strictly necessary but it paid to be thorough. Hovering gently through the ceiling, sending a slab of concrete flying as she did so, Impact gained her bearings. The changes to the suburb she'd grown up in had not been significant enough to disorient her and she quickly realized where she was. Now. Back to the Dalles or stay here? Impact mused. Should I make Megan a priority for now? She should have searched most of the Dalles by now and that idiot was supposed to go back to the museum wasn't he? Well in that case I suppose it's back to the Dalles so I can get revenge against that slontze Deathwish. Vanishing in a sudden streak of speed, Impact was unable to witness the morning light piercing through the hole she'd made in the ceiling. Red light reflecting off of redder pools as terrified screams slowly spread throughout the neighborhood.
  3. You see all the shadows and react to them all, since it involves visions of the future you don't need to actually deliberately analyze a shadow for it to split, when that shadow is created it creates a future where you would do that, which creates another shadow and so on and so on, hence why they all appear simultaneously instead of building up.
  4. The point is that many shadows only appear because each one you see creates a different future, you're not reacting to one you're reacting to all of them. You can't train your mind to see the future...
  5. It gives you visions of the future which changes what you'll do in the future, causing your Atium shadows to split just like other Atium burners.
  6. You want to go to Portland in order to be safe?
  7. Couple of points. The Doppler effect relates to the pitch or frequency of a wave, not its volume. If Allomantic lines were effected by the Doppler effect they'd shift in color not brightness. Now while I believe that larger or more massive objects give a stronger push I don't think they can actually be pushed for any longer, I believe that the appearance of thicker lines lasting longer is solely due to the difficulties in seeing something both incredibly thin and pale. Look at hair for instance, hold a single hair as much as a meter away and it can be difficult to see, hold a group of them together and you can see them for much longer. The opacity doesn't change, just your perspective.
  8. I'm not even sure that that's an improvement since she'd basically just become his evil student in 'how to be horrible 101'. The thought of someone treating Nighthound as a role model is... disturbing to say the least.
  9. I was hoping to avoid that. Ah well, *prepares brain bleach for Nevertheres upcoming scenes*
  10. Pretty much yeah. So between her potential torture-friendship with Mary and her potential loyalty to Nighthound I'm requesting that Neverthere be added to the 'ATTD' list a few more times.
  11. Eh. Maybe if it was Clinton.
  12. Isn't he always? It would be surprisingly effective if he wanted someone to be grateful to him. (A disturbing thought) She's acutely aware of how vulnerable she is once she's been found so she wouldn't exactly be trying to wheedle out potential motivations of her rescuer.
  13. Oh if they were serious about finding her they definitely could, Funtimes can port in way faster than she can run away, but if she sees Backtrack skulking around crying about all the people that've been blown up there then running back to the museum for backup she'd probably bolt before they got there. Same with Nighthound, if he went with Red when she tracked Neverthere and just went straight in he'd be in before she had time to run but if she saw Red first who then went to get Nighthound then she'd run. Basically it depends how much effort they're willing to put in.
  14. If he had the foresight and ability to recognize a bomb then he could, of course if he brought Funtimes with him she could just teleport them both inside since she wouldn't blow herself up, or Lightwards could just raid it with dinosaurs or send Nighthound. Of course any kind of delay like that gives her a chance to escape. She's not called Neverthere for nothing Well it would give me the chance to blow up Nighthound a few times. Even if he heals I think it'd be immensely satisfying.
  15. Depends on what Kobold was planning for Lightwards to do. She doesn't know about Backtrack but both would likely die if they attempted to track her down solo even if she didn't know they were trying. She has a bunch of proximity alarms and explosives rigged around her safehouse, not much defense against a determined High Epic but enough to kill lesser Epics if they don't already know about it.
  16. I'm still undecided on how much control Neverthere has over what her projection looks like, whether its just a straight copy of her or whether she can change its appearance somewhat, in which case yes absolutely they can. Yeah I think so, she could extend it further by moving but she doesn't really have any reason to and moving is always dangerous. Yeah she'll probably try to ensure he meets an accident somehow and in the meantime keep an eye on him and not give Corpsemaker any reason to look for her.
  17. She could pretend to link arms but unfortunately shes still intangible (Or rather, fortunately given that it's Nighthound) I've got ~100mi written down, enough that I think she can reach all of the RP cities. She probably would but not his specific powerset, just that he's good at gathering information. That's the plan yeah.
  18. Neverthere post up with some of the MEE's plans for the day. If anyone has any ideas for other characters that would be good at subterfuge on one level or another (And they don't mind that those characters will almost certainly die) feel free to get in touch to plan out what they might be doing.
  19. Lucentia has a brother? Watching carefully for any indications he was lying, Neverthere scanned his face, mentally comparing it to Lucentias. True there was perhaps some resemblance, and why would he risk such a lie when Lucentia herself could disprove it in a moment. But very few Epics still had any living relatives, those with destructive powers almost never did. And if there was one thing the attack on the museum had shown it was that both Lucentia and this Nighthound had destructive powers. Interesting. "Her brother you say? Well that must make for some lively sibling rivalry." Neverthere quipped, trying to decide how best to use this information. Watch for now, watching is always best until you know more. Stick with little pushes until you know their capabilities and motivations. "Well, speaking of getting things done, did you have any plans for the morning? I must admit that you've piqued my interest and I'm sure you'll find having someone who can spy on anyone in the state to be useful if you'll let me tag along for a while." She didn't give Nighthound an exact range, it was always better to give as little information as possible even when you were trying to appear to be open and honest. Perhaps especially when you were appearing open and honest. Subtext strutted down the street, happy to finally be given a mission. And though he wouldn't say it, thankful that his mission wasn't as dangerous as those attacks. Picking an apple off a nearby stall he nearly walked away before he stopped and turned to the owner. "How much?" He asked. Can't stand out, blend in with the crowd, safety in numbers. "Normally a dollar but since you look like you can afford it, I'll charge five." The woman blurted out, eyes widening as her mouth kept moving. Smiling, Subtext handed the money over. It was time to wreak a little havok in the factions of Portland.
  20. Yeah, his powers work perfectly fine on things that aren't capable of fearing him so while a mosquito might be able to since it at least could technically fear him I don't think a bacteria or virus could since they're not even capable of fear.
  21. Only if she can get Nighthound to 'lend her a hand' so to speak.
  22. Then Funtimes murdered Lightwards a dozen times and he decided that the best way to expand the Empire of Light was by baking as many cakes as possible and leaving them for people.
  23. And once he appears theres just no conceivable way that any city would agree to be ruled by anyone else. I might do something like that, I just feel that if I ever got around to actually writing Metronome he'd lose something as a character. I'm happy to keep his semi-canonical appearance in the 'Day in the life of' section and leave it at that for now. Yeah I'll try to get her reaction to that up and then Mrs. Voidus and I will bring the Carlisles up sometime after that when it seems appropriate/when a pie is located nearby that they can throw at Nighthound.
  24. I'm still undecided on that, I'm just not sure if I could ever write his er... truly awe inspiring presence well enough. PP and Saccharine should arrive at the museum soon unless you wanted the NeverNight conversation to cover anything else in particular?
  25. *raises hand* Gogodancer!Steelheart from one of Megans alternate universes.
