  1. "It is sentient. It is a primal being, but there is enough intelligence to be most dangerous and bargained with. We could potentially offer it what it wants."
  2. The faintest look of amusement appears in my eyes. "Reasoning with it will not end well. It can however be bargained with I suppose. We can make a deal and use this to our advantage if and only if we can get to it first."
  3. The exhaustion returns to my eyes as I listen to Vale and Fadran. "We are powerful, but we have limits. We cannot prosecute a war alone. What happens to these people once we leave this place? They must be allowed to stand on their own. If we alone fight for them and even if we summon supernatural aid then they are far worse off for it. I have seen what happens when immortals take interest in worlds and agree to fight for them. Mortals must not lose the ability to wage war for themselves." "We have to be cleverer than they. We will have to hold a weapon over them. If we want to force Wyrn's hand we will need to gain the help of the fox."
  4. "We may be able to train them to fight, but to properly turn this ragtag group into a war machine will take more time than we have. If we can teach them to fight smart then we'll be able to get find a way to get Herate back."
  5. "We will need guile and power on our side. Alas we don't know where the beast is now. Wyrn and his thugs do. We will need them if we want to find it easily. If we want to defeat it we need to plan." I sigh. "I know that is why I asked Daolan if he honestly thought that they were battle ready."
  6. "No it is not. They are likely far more dangerous now than ever before. Being locked away for all eternity could make them angry."
  7. "They are strong enough to make lakes boil beneath their breath. Theirs is a fire that is cursed. Let us put it this way mortal armies have been left smoldering in their wake."
  8. "Those monsters escaped the prison after the gates were destroyed. They were among the first that I cast into that place. Wyrn cannot stop them on his own because they are so must mightier than any mortal creature. If they are here then this world is in grave danger indeed."
  9. I turn to Fadran. "Perhaps. I recall our encounters with those creatures. Those foxes that they claim are loose on this world could pose an even greater threat than some withergeists."
  10. Trying not to betray any more of the maelstrom that blows within I walk through the camp and enter the command tent.
  11. I command the winds to transmit my words to his ears alone. "We must discuss what happened in that tower. If what they said is true then we will have to be ready. Let us retire to the command tent immediately." The air again allows words to flow freely.
  12. Inwardly I sigh. I step forward. "I have fought in many battles. Before he was taken Daolan and I had arranged to figure out a way to train this army to withstand the enemy. I have a feeling that it will be no easy task."
  13. A forlorn tree stands alone forgotten on a mountain top. It is mellowed by aged and unashamed of it's solemn watch. It is a guardian at the top of the world. Alight with Aurora's torch it glows. Merry illumination colors it with a sublime palette. Emotions that it does not feel wash over it as in silence it waits and watches the far north.
  14. You protest too much. What is poetry? Does the sky glow with the sight of a thousand windspren circling? Trees alight with emeralds filled with pale blue power born in the storms. A warm hearth not a ruby provide warmth ti the axehound snuggled up by the fire. The peal of laughter that an honorspren provides gently fills the air. A carpet from the farthest edge of the continent. A halfshard shimmers in fire light on middlefest eve.
  15. Well folks tis the season! On ookla and all that jazz. Here is the place for Christmas/Holiday Poetry! Have at it!
  16. I suppose that I could handle poetry. A thread does not take too long to set up. The question is whether it will go in the games section or perhaps the creative corner.
  17. I feel that I should do this correctly. As I have said before I am thankful for all of you here on the shard! It is no understatement to say that I am a better and richer for knowing all of you! For my family even though they don't understand why I'm a Sanderfan. Yes Chocolate is wonderful!! For the invention of pens and paper so much for efficient than a tablet and chisel.
  18. I'm a blast? I'm truly grateful for many things. If you had not created Fellowship of the thing I likely would not have rejoined the RP scene after the 1st RP that I joined fizzled out. I can only do what I do because you made it possible! Thank You for making it possible!!
  19. I hear Fadran despite the storm. My head snaps in his direction. With tremendous effort I throw the chains back over the beast and pull them tight. The anger falls away and shame appear on my face. Instantly, the storm ends and the sky above is banished to join my rage. I sag for a moment. "We are going to need it. We are one. His aggression may be necessary. I may have been wrong."
  20. The monster does not surrender its hold on my form. As my spirit rages so does the thunder. It grows louder and lightning shatters the sky above me. Rain begins to fall as I set it free. Hot droplets fall as the winds do not come. I stalk through the falling rain flowing from one darkened patch to the next as though I belong to the darkness. My eyes glow with the immortal destruction that once brought civilizations to their knees.
  21. "As you wish." The voice which emerges in my own no longer. It is a roar of challenge. Something ancient and raw fills the room. My eyes fill completely with violence and something else something primordial. I don't break eye contact with my foe as I catch the blade as it flies. In a single fluid motion I swipe the tip of the blade across the ground. Rock shears away as if it were a gossamer layer of silk. The weapon vanishes though the shattered stone remains. I bow mockingly and stalk from the room. The sky outside begins to darken and thunder begins to crash as the monster shakes off his chains.
  22. All emotion empties from my face. That is what escaped here. Loathsome and unpleasant beasts whose presence would have at other times been no more than an annoyance. However, now this will be task. "They would. Pesky little creatures that they are. You would call it false bravado, but let me tell you truth." I lean in. Some of the creature rises to my eyes. Their lust just visible. "When I tossed them into the prison from whence they came I was a youth inexperienced in the ways of war. You who claim to save this world have been unable to stop them. Tell me who is the failure. The hunter that jailed them or the prey who they victimized?" Something bestial enters my voice.
  23. I turn to Xanthos and I let out a chuckle. Mirth fills my eyes. "Blade of false pride. I can see how zealots might believe it." All of the mirth melts away in an instant. "False pride will be your undoing." I call to myself the warmth that surrounds my two antagonists. In an instant the stones beneath their feet freeze and shatter in an explosion of stone. "That was no more than a taste of what I could do. You wish our help you may have it. However, crossing us would be a mistake."
