  1. Born Ascending forms cool. Wondrous shapes start to appear. Birthed dreams awaken.
  2. Very Well. Calm Clouds dance lively jigs. A pillar of warmth surrounds. Behold the storm's eye.
  3. Can't for the same reason as Trutharchivist. I don't know that I would have the courage even if I could. The person below me has received multiple academic awards in school.
  4. @Mistbornwithakitty *hugs.* It's hard to advise on this sort of thing. However, I will say this. Is he really your friend if he so easily and constantly shuts you down when you have a disagreement? It may be that you put a higher value to your friendship than he does which is something serious to consider. If there can be no dialogue the question truly becomes is this friendship worth it? Remember your well being matters and if your feelings are being ignored it might be time to cut this "friend" out of your life because they don't really seem to care much for your feelings.
  5. I'm sure that you will. Fantasy Life Drifting in warm silk. Calm holds the entire world still. Living in a dream
  6. Only good things. A poem for all of your thoughts. Steps The mountains whisper. A slight cool breeze wends with grace. Dancing in the heights.
  7. He is indeed! Welcome! Which book is your favorite?
  8. Not really. The person below me has read the prologue of SA5.
  9. If this is Cultivation's doing it's curious that she with her future-sight that this is not something she would have anticipated. It makes little sense that she would even pretend to be shocked. Why react at all? It may indeed all come down to duty. Gavilar is a cynic. For him everything is a means to an end to achieve power and legacy. The Way of Kings, the codes, the stormfather. He does not mean anything that he says. Being a bondsmith as Dalinar is abhors things being means to an end. As a bondsmith he would have a duty to unite that no cynicism will allow. Saying the words are worthless if he does not mean them. Jezrien back in the very beginning calls the oathpact a burden that they willingly picked up. Well while that is not explicitly speaking of a duty implicitly it seems clear that that is the subtext. Without speaking of duty Gavilar's intent is hollow. What he seeks is impossible. I think that duty is the missing piece.
  10. We're still in the news!! https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/31/authors-record-breaking-kickstarter-campaign-closes-at-41point7-million.html
  11. I haven't posted in hundreds of pages. It's wonderful to see it continuing to go strong. Nostalgia gets me every time.
  12. The voids are mine to bring forth!!
  13. @Amira SA is a deep and awesome rabbit hole. You're in for the ride of your life. Another secret there always is.
  14. More than double the original leader!!
  15. Did someone say 40,000,000?
  16. Though as we know the "law " was set up by Nale. Nale knew what was coming.
  17. Hmmm... the diagram. In a way sort of paints me into a corner. He would not lie to himself. So you are right unless the diagram was wrong in that instance then that is problematic. By the way this is an awesome WoB!!! Questioner Does Gavilar and Amaram know that Nale and Kalak are the Heralds and that all the other Heralds also... Brandon Sanderson That's a spoiler. Can you talk around it? Questioner Yeah. So did they know that the people being met, who were they and also if they knew, why'd they still continue on the missions? Brandon Sanderson Let's just say that information is not being shared clearly and succinctly between different groups that are interacting in the prologues of the Stormlight books. How about that. But the cat obviously got out of that particular bag that you're asking about and the ramifications of it are in the first prologue. You'll find out. When this book comes out, your question will get answered pretty clearly so just know that you'll get your answer in about a year. ICon 2019 (Oct. 15, 2019)
  18. Just wait til she finds out what happened to the rest of the family.
  19. He was a cynic and a narcissist. Everything was about him and his legacy. The codes and the Way of Kings were meant to serve him. The Irony is that his cynicism created true greatness. Dalinar, Elokhar, and Jasnah the legacy that he never wanted became the very thing that ha most wanted.
  20. True. Brandon, does not believe in them.
  21. Forgive me if the words that come from their mouths are less than trustworthy. They did not even have to coordinate to easily manipulate someone that they knew to be unstable at best. The base stormfather that we have seen to this point is so starkly different to what we have seen that chalking it up to a change in methods seems for too extreme to easily explain what we see in this prologue.
