  1. Did they end up using the sparkly rainbow paper for Warbreaker? I didn’t see it mentioned on Brandon’s website, so I don’t know whether to assume they were able to use it or not.
  2. Welcome! Hope to see you around the forums. You a fan of Critical Role?
  3. Dang. You wrote a whole novella? No wonder it’s so long! I’m looking forward to reading it.
  4. @BethG I don’t have time to read through it all right now, though I’m definitely coming back when I do have time. I just wanted to say it might be a good idea to contain each chapter in a spoiler tag for future reference, cause when I was scrolling through on my phone it was insanely long.
  5. The animation for red vs blue gets much better in later seasons (as in, they actually start animating stuff instead of just recording gameplay and dubbing it). I’ll check out RWBY if I have time though.
  6. Wait that's by rooster teeth right? The same guys that did red vs blue?
  7. Oooooh! I was wondering if it was a dragon and happened to be a WoT reference. @The Sovereign Do you know why I wear a hat? It is because the poofiness beneath is too poofy for any mere mortal to behold.
  8. 7/10, I am thoroughly intrigued, but I have no idea what's going on in the picture. Some gold ribbon is floating in front of a person shrouded in shadow? Hmmmm. Also, @CadCom, nice fcc lattice. Would rate 10/10.
  9. I'll make sure to take a late lunch break that day so I can listen to the episode while I eat.
  10. Oops. I really need to reread OB. Again.
  11. Pretty much what Invocation said. Just overwhelm their body with damage. I'm sure a thunderclast could take out a herald if they weren't careful, especially if they don't have access to a surge that increases mobility like Gravitation or Abrasion. Yes, we see Renarin recover from getting squashed, but imagine if a thunderclast crushed a person and held them like that. Considering their body can't actually return to an uncrushed state, I don't think even a herald could keep up a lost cause like that for more than a few minutes maximum.
  12. Wait, why'd you group connection with Fortune? I'd think Connection would be more closely tied to sDNA in general. In fact, I recall one theory that a person's Identity was comprised of their unique orientation, number, and types of Connections. So Connections are a fundamental aspect of the Spiritual realm while Identity is refers to the Connections that make a person who they are and makes them distinct from everyone else. Not sure if this theory is correct or not, but because of it I've always closely associated Identity, Connection, and sDNA with each other, while Fortune seems like its own separate thing having to do with the oneness of the spiritual realm, as you mentioned.
  13. Yeah it looks like you know what you're talking about . I wouldn't say I understand the nuances of realmatics as well as some people on the forums, but what you put down looks pretty accurate to me. I am curious why you think Khriss's analogy about the three realms is wrong. It is, after all, an analogy, and isn't a perfectly accurate representation. I think you're right in that the three realms coexist, and the spiritual realm isn't exactly the source of the physical realm. However, the spiritual realm basically contains the blueprints for the physical realm. And not only the physical realm as it is, but the past as well as all possible futures. While the physical realm can only exist in one state at a time, the spiritual realm exists in all possible states, simultaneously. So while the spiritual realm isn't responsible for the existence of the physical realm, it contains the seeds for everything that the physical realm is and could be. This is what the sunbeam metaphor is trying to get across. As for the cognitive realm, the idea that it is a ray of sunlight is meant to portray that it shares properties of the spiritual realm but is also a reflection of the physical realm, and thus can be thought of as a go-between between them. Also, I get the impression that you think the realms originally existed in isolation, but then bled into one another. Personally, I think the three realms have always been codependent, and are incapable of existing separately from one another. They're each simply a different facet of reality, all flip sides of the same coin.
  14. That theory does go along with the idea that the Ones Above are at least partially comprised of Scadrians, and I can’t think of any other creatures or magic users that could achieve the same effect. Mainly, I’m thinking about Knights Radiant. I’m not sure how a Radiant could fake their death for a prolonged period of time. Sure, they could heal themselves with stormlight, but any close inspection would reveal that they’re heart is still beating. A Sleepless could fake their death, but since their imitation of humans is so rough, you’d think they’d notice the difference after inspecting the body. A mundane option is that the person used drugs that lowered their heartbeat and breathing to basically imperceptible levels, then the Ones Above ensured they got the “body” back intact. However, I think your idea that it’s a kandra is the best bet.
  15. Truly the pinnacle of humor. I can die easily now knowing I have seen true, artistically transcendent comedy. Amen brother! There’s never a bad time for potty humor. The more the better. Seriously though, @Toaster Retribution, I’ve never been bothered by any slackening of tension their jokes cause. I never felt that any of their jokes withdrew from suspense that much anyways. Lopens shenanigans at the end of OB occurred after the climax, so if it was going to occur anywhere, that’s the place for it. And Lifts comments to Dalinar always felt short and self contained enough that they didn’t impact suspense or the tone for very long. I get if they’re not you’re taste though. Also, <3 Amaram.
  16. Agreed. I was just throwing the idea out there. Assuming Liss is Chana, she seems awesome and badass and I’d be sad to see her die prematurely.
  17. I put Amaram down for the poll (yep, 2 years late) because his arc in OB felt lackluster. As Toaster Retribution already pointed out, he's not a bad character. In fact, he's a good one, if not my favorite. He simply didn't get the screen time he needed to provide a satisfying ending to his arc. And since Shallan has been discussed so much recently, here are my thoughts on her as well. I like Shallan. I may complain about her development and arc in the latter half of OB now and then, but IMO she is a great character, especially in WoR. I love her in that book. She really shines during her interactions with the Ghostbloods, which is why I'm crossing my fingers that she'll be much more involved with them in RoW. I get why people dislike her, and after Part 3 of OB (where she actually has a some great character development) I had difficulty investing in her arc, especially the ending. But I'm optimistic going forward. As for Lift and Lopen, what can I say, I like them. I mean look at my username! I'm obviously a Wayne fan, and they share his obnoxious, stupid, and IMO hilarious qualities. I just like Brandon's sense of humor in these cases, though I will say I am definitely excited to see Lift mature in the second half of SA.
  18. I'm hoping Moash's next victim is one of the female heralds since we've had so few interactions with them. I will say I hope it isn't Ash because I'm excited to get a book about her and I want her to be active and not dead like poor Eshonai, but I'm game for any of the other 4. So far, we've been confirmed to see all 5 male heralds on screen except for Ishar, and he's been heavily referenced to. Meanwhile, all we've gotten from the female heralds is Ash, and Taravangian's reference to Battar, which Brandon won't even confirm to be her and not another female herald. So Moash going about on a murder spree is a perfect opportunity to expand our view of the heralds. On the other hand, I agree that the herald should be someone we've either seen on screen or are familiar with. Considering we didn't see Jezrien apart from WoK's prologue until OB though, it's not hard to see a new herald being introduced and then killed. Or it could be a herald we've seen on screen but hasn't been confirmed to be a herald, like the Liss is Chana theory. They never returned a signed book? How did that happen? Did they move away or something? I'm just asking because personally, I would hound anybody who borrowed a signed book until they returned it.
  19. Same! I keep on watching reaction videos so I can convince myself that I’m watching something new when I’m really not. I love the concept and execution of the pilot. It’s not flawless in regards to pacing and sound engineering, but it’s all really well put together considering the creator had never done a full length episode like this before. And the characters, my god the characters. I am actually in love and so hyped for a full season potentially coming down the road.
  20. The fact that this is the only decent theory I've made makes me want to come up with more.
  21. It seems pretty unlikely. The only way we know that Odium could get stronger is by merging with the shards he splinters, and he isn't doing that because he doesn't want to dilute the intent of his shard. And if there were another method of him gaining power each time he splinters a shard, you'd think his track record taking down shards would be getting better, which doesn't seem to be the case considering he became trapped in the Rosharan system in the first place and took millienia to splinter Honor.
  22. Oh, I definitely agree that the whole love triangle was handled poorly in OB. There was no build up, no conflict, no climactic resolution. It felt like nothing was happening on that front throughout the entire book, and at the end, everything just worked ok fine and dandy. After seeing other people reactions on the forums, I agree that the arc was in character for all of them. But my guttural reaction at the end of OB on my first read was “What kind of a resolution is this?” That being said, I see why this fiasco of an arc occurred. Brandon set up the love triangle quite deftly in WoR. But, it feels like when he was writing OB, he realized just how bloated the book was. I think the published draft was well-paced and didn’t feel bloated, but the SA books have been getting longer and longer. So when it came to the love triangle, he tried to resolve it with as few words as possible since it wasn’t integral to the plot. And IMO, failed. At this point I just want to move on from the love triangle in the next book and forget it happened. And one more thing; there are more people than you think on the forums who don’t like how the love triangle played out. Especially around the release of OB, there were certainly people who share your and my opinion. However, most people have come to terms with it since the book had been out so long, even people who initially disliked it, which may be why the general opinion seems so one-sided to you.
  23. That’s true but I think Oltux’s point is that there still needs to be an underlying cause since the first shades weren’t influenced by perception. And if the original shades were already bound by the rules, then why wouldn’t subsequent shades also be bound for whatever reason? I think their point was that it’s superfluous for perception to be a factor that perpetuates the 3 rules.
  24. Other than the last few scenes of OB (which as I already mentioned are basically the honeymoon phase of their relationship and isn’t necessarily indicative of deep love on Shallan’s part), I’m mainly thinking of their early interactions in OB. I think it’s clear that Shallan is happier when she’s around Adolin and they have a lot of chemistry. Because Shallan is so messed up throughout the book it’s hard to determine exactly what she feels since she herself doesn’t know what she feels. However, in my experience, when someone cares for you deeply and is able to help you out of a poor mental state, feelings more than attraction often develop. So it’s more that I think there’s a lot of potential for Shallan to grow in love for Adolin. I’m a little bit confused... what do you want me to suggest that fits what?
