  1. That's a really interesting theory! I hadn't thought of that. It would be really cool if marasi did do that, and it would be interesting to find out why she would. I guess we'll have to wait for the Lost Metal though (sigh).
  2. In the the Wax and Wayne series, it was mentioned that if a Slider and a Pulser both create bubbles in the same place, the bubbles cancel each other's effects. However, I was wondering what happens if you have multiple sliders or multiple Pulsers create bubbles at the same time. Would the effects stack exponentially, or would it be as if only one bubble was in place? If the effects did accumulate, it wouldn't mean much for sliders. I mean, it doesn't matter that much whether you could compress 1 minute into 5 seconds, or 1 minute into 0.001 seconds, since there's only a few seconds difference. However, with Pulsers, it would be an entirely different case. Since cadmium burns so slowly, you could probably travel years into the future, potentially decades if you gathered enough allomancers, and if you had enough cadmium to restock them. I'm not sure why you would want to travel forward in time so far, but it would be an interesting mechanic if it worked. I haven't seen this addressed in Theoryland or the books. If there's another forum on the 17th shard discussing this, could you redirect me to it?
  3. Knock knock. Who's there? Wayne. Wayne who? Wayne you're stuck in the middle of a god-forsaken frozen wasteland, trying to outrun an evil organization trying to obtain a fabled artifact granting incredible powers, and all you can think about is where you're hat blew off to.
  4. Instead of explaining how deeply connected I am to the characters I read in Sanderson's books, I'm just going to provide a link to a discussion about dumb cosmere jokes. Based on how serious everybody is about how they identify with characters, we need to cool down a bit and spend a few minutes thinking up dumb jokes lol
  5. When did the events of forests of hell take place in relation to mistborn second era, then? I didn't see the novella on any approximations of the cosmeres chronology...
  6. I'm a total noobie. If anybody comes across this message, how are the number of reputation points you earn determined? I have no idea...
  7. I'm really bad at thinking up names for shards. Out of the examples other people suggested, though, Wisdom seems the most likely to be the driving force for a shard. I don't think any of the currently shards really address this attribute, and looking at the Bible, Quran, etc this characteristic is highly emphasized. I whole-heartedly expect one of the future shards to be a spin off of this idea.
  8. This is my first (and poor) attempt at a theory. But I was wondering, how likely is it that Wayn could eventually become a worldhopper? I mean after the events of Mistborn era 2. When I first saw a stranger mentioned on Threnody that was wearing a hat, I started thinking that if the person was a worldhopper, he might be Wayne. After all, we all know his obsession with hats is ridiculous. To be fair, we have no reason to believe that that character in Forests of Hell is worldhopper. But he was mentioned by both Silence and Daggon in passing, and wouldn't it just be epic if Wayne actually was a worldhopper. His skills seem to prepare him for life blending in with the cultures of other planets. He's a master of disguises and an excellent actor, allowing him to move efficiently in any society without drawing attention. He's charismatic, and can quickly make friends, so he can learn about various cultures. Also, he's proficiencient with dueling canes, meaning he can be an effective fighter on planets without firearms and gun powder, even if he doesn't have access to bendalloy or gold reserves. Plus, he seems like the kind of character who loves adventure, and I could see him traversing planets for this reason. Now, as for how he would gain access to the cognitive realm, I have no idea. Perhaps Kelsier, who must be extremely knowledgeable on the subject after being stuck there, could play a role. Anyways, this theory is pure speculation, with little evidence to back it. Still, I want to see what other people think about it. If there are any characters that you think SHOULD become worldhoppers (even if they probably never will, like poor Wayne), please share your ideas.
  9. Could red have anything to do with Adonalsium's opposite (as confirmed by WoB)? I mean, since the God Beyond created everything, presumably his opposite would seek to undo what he did and destroy everything. I mean, putting it that way makes this other force seem like a buffed up ruin, which is kinda repetitive. Still, thought I'd throw it out there
  10. I feel so dumb. I took me scanning this thread of posts to figure out the Ire were Elantrians. Duh!!! Their skin was fudging GLOWING!!! And i just couldn't take the hin
