  1. Perhaps not. If Atium can serve as a wildcard metal for Hemalurgy (as we know it can), maybe the same is true for ettmetal/Harmonium and Feruchemy, and for Lerasium and Allomancy.
  2. Yolish Lightweaving is probably not associated with any of the Shards, as it seems to predate them. It may, however, have had the same relationship with Adonalsium as the other systems do with the Shards that power them.
  3. Hey, there's a lot more rules and strategy to be discussed at this moment than RPing; if anyone goes up to Garshin and starts a discussion, I'm happy to respond.
  4. One more question for the GM's: When a side wins, does everybody on that side win, or only those who have not yet been killed?
  5. Some more thoughts: -If the Inquisitor does show as a regular villager, then at the very least waiting for the Seeker (if there is one) will indicate people who are good targets for lynching (as they might be the Inquisitor, and if not, they at least won't allow a conversion when killed). -The point of thug roleclaims (assuming it's done by everybody) isn't really to draw out the inquisitor, but present him with a dilemma: If he does claim, and all the real thugs claim as well, there will be a higher-than-expected number of thugs, leading to suspicion on them. If he does not claim, then if he gets hit and survives it'll be highly suspicious (if everybody claims as soon as they snap thug, he'd have to claim to have either snapped that night, or claim to be mistborn). On the downside, it could end up revealing the mistborn, and of course lose most of the advantage of having a thug on our team, so it's not so clear it's a good idea. -Another not-sure-if-it's-a-good-idea is for everybody to name someone else and guess their role, or attach messages to role guesses; this would allow seekers to communicate with people they've investigated in a way that the Inquisitor can't tell even if he has super-tin. I would be interested in hearing thoughts about the latter two ideas.
  6. @Kipper @TheMightyLopen While the rules make no mention of what special powers the Inquisitor gets, past games suggest that they often take improved forms of the Misting powers. For instance, the improved Tin power lets the Inquisitor see PMs, and the improved Copper power lets him appear to Seekers as a regular villager (rather than just being undetectable like normal Smokers).
  7. The idea would be that even if they die, they'll first build a network of people who can trust each other not to be the inquisitor...but if there can also be super-copper, that makes it less valuable. I'm still not quite sure how analysis and gut reads can work against an inquisitor who knows what they're doing, though. If they just do whatever they would do as a villager, that would keep them from being detected...and once Mistings start getting lynched, they can build up a team.
  8. Interesting. So if you hadn't done the WGG, was there any way for the villagers to determine her ID?
  9. Ah, right. Forgot about that. Although if there are multiple seekers, some might still succeed.
  10. True, though given that the inquisitor can't protect everybody from seeking, it'd still be quite suspicious.
  11. (Back to RPing): Garshin walked away as the man droned on. Was Harmony this annoying when he was human? Although I suppose now that should be "is"...
  12. Day 1, there are no recruits...so if the smokers turn their powers off (which they can do, according to the rules), then anyone left smoking will be highly suspicious. (I'm assuming here that the Inquisitor doesn't have the ability to appear to be another role, as that would probably be overpowered and leave us with no recourse other than random guessing.) Another question: What are the conditions for nobody being lynched? Does it require a plurality explicitly voting for it, or what?
  13. However: I do think we might want to have an "investigation" vote, making suggestions as to whom the seekers should check first. After all, if a seeker finds the inquisitor before any misting is killed, they can PM everybody else, and then we'll have narrowed it down to two people (the supposed inquisitor, and the supposed seeker investigating them). And if two seekers agree, we can be certain (unless making someone else look like the inquisitor is an inquisitor power, but I doubt it; that would probably be a bit too strong).
  14. My thoughts regarding a first-day lynch: What we need isn't so much information, as an information advantage over the inquisitor. If we lynch someone and everybody finds out who it is, that won't give us an information advantage. (In most mafia games, the eliminators begin with an information advantage regarding roles, since they know each others' identities, but that doesn't apply here.) The biggest question, I think (though I have no idea how we might determine this) is what powers the inquisitor has. Knowing whether he has seeker powers, or PM-related powers, would be very useful...but that might not be feasible. It seems to me that as long as the town has more seeker abilities than the inquisitor at the moment (a likely proposition), the town benefits from a longer game, since it gives the seekers more time to build networks of trusted individuals (just remember that the supposed seeker may be the inquisitor, so don't trust him until he's been vetted by another seeker). So it may be best to not lynch anyone, and for the smokers and coinshots to keep their abilities off, at least until the first conversion (at which point things will begin to move more toward a normal mafia-style game). (Side note: You may or may not have noticed that I am phrasing things in a way that would be valid for the inquisitor as well. I have decided that this is the best approach for me, since I am reluctant to say "we" about the non-eliminators when I am the eliminator, and if I only used such phrasing in the games that I'm an eliminator, it would be too much of a giveaway.)
  15. Or maybe that's what he wants us to think...even if he was planning to, it might change now that you've posted it (assuming it's not you). Or maybe he'll decide that acting that way, now that I've posted this, is the best way to throw off suspicion... (Which aspects of his play in LG31 are you thinking of in particular, by the way?)
  16. Garshin looked at the man who'd talked about the "contribution crusade". "Your copperminds have memories of previous incidents of this sort? How long ago was this?"
  17. I'm extremely honest...but of course that's what they'd all say, and if I were the Inquisitor, it would manifest differently in this game than in real life. I haven't played any games of mafia before, though I have played other hidden identity games. For more insight into my mind...it might be informative that Kaladin is my favorite character largely because I'm a lot like him.
  18. Garshin read the letter, as he rubbed his head. Why couldn't he just use that trick with the mist again? He probably thinks he's being funny. Looking back up, Garshin noticed that the man had disappeared.
  19. Not the original, I hope. Aren't we assigned at game start whether we're mistings or not?
  20. Okay, that answers the question about my skill at High Imperial. Garshin shrugged. "Okay, I won't try to imitate your dialect any more, as apparently my skills in that area are lacking. Have you heard that the Sliver was killed about a week ago?"
  21. Something rustled in Garshin's pocket. He reached in, and found another letter. How did that get there? Something very strange is going on. He took it out and read it. "The Sliver died a week ago? Things are going to get chaotic soon." Should I meddle with history and warn the Ascendant Warrior about Ruin's plans? They'd probably just think I was crazy...and I don't even know what would happen if I succeeded. Not to mention that whatever force brought me back might not take kindly...or maybe that's just what it wants. Ah, it'll probably let me know soon.
  22. (I assume anything that's been roleplayed already is an exception...as happened for quite a few of us with the first one.)
  23. (I was asking, because we're roleplaying getting the letters, and since Garshin clearly hasn't read the second letter yet, I want to know so that I can roleplay it.)
  24. (So is that second letter coming to us later, or on the back of the first, or what?)
