  1. So the elims didn't even try to kill anyone this night? Very strange... (Just to confirm, @OrlokTsubodai , you didn't just forget to put "attacked but survived notes, right?) Also, @TheMightyLopen have you been Tineye since the beginning of the game? Or did you snap more recently?
  2. So you were involved enough in the game to serve as a front for another player and actively participate in designing the Tineye messages, but not enough to remember your own role?
  3. Rae is either the Inquisitor, or a Thug who was covering for the Tineye, or (as per Wilson's reasoning when she suggested the bandwagon that led to the lynch) the convert using the Thug spike. Most likely, the thug spike is the answer.
  4. Are you saying that you're a vanilla villager?
  5. Rae, if Mark was converted, and Wilson was the one who'd been given a false lead, why would the elims try to take her out last night?
  6. Of him becoming an elim when? In particular, what do you think happened when he roleclaimed lurcher, claimed to have protected himself, and nobody called him on it?
  7. If you were going to be a front for a Tineye, you'd want the messages to obviously point to you and not-so-obviously point to the real Tineye; after all, the whole point of the messages is so that the Tineye can use them to identify to friends who he really is. IMPORTANT EDIT: What impact does UberIron have on the credibility of Seekings?
  8. (OOC: Rioters/soothers do not actually have the ability to feel the emotions they're manipulating.)
  9. I find it unlikely you were convert #3, since you're the one who pushed the lynch on Randuir, and that seems a bit much for a WGG (especially as you'd be probably be a thug, and therefore less beneficial for the town to find than Randuir would).
  10. I notice that the first conversion came from a "smoker" and the second from a "coppercloud"; assuming the distinction held, that would mean Randuir was the first convert and Jondesu the second. Also, the elims are now without Smoker support, so the village seeker(s) can now act unhindered. (It may be good for the seeker(s) to ask for lurcher protection.)
  11. I find it interesting that nobody on the elim side has tried to take out Wilson, despite her being so vocal and pivotal. I'm wondering if she's been converted recently (or is planned for the next conversion).
  12. Wilson's arguments against Kipper being the inquisitor are based on personality reads, and I'm not sure how much stock to put in those. There's also the fact that, even if innocent, he's somewhat of a liability because he's a thug that can be used for a conversion later if not killed now. That said, Rand has seemed somewhat suspicious, so in lights of the votes by others, perhaps he is a better choice. Kipper Randuir
  13. 19 left alive, now including 3 elims. I will vote for Kipper, on the theory that a strong convert is happening next night anyway.
  14. I will be unable to post for the rest of day six. Just in case someone wants to try soothing me again, I will vote for lamspartacus, because he seems to be inactive.
  15. True, though again I feel that thug is one of the stronger late-game roles, especially for the elims.
  16. Yes, the elims can probably kill a coinshot if they want to and are willing to spend the kill. If the coinshot hits the wrong one, it only saves us a mislynch if we'd be lynching one of the three prior to seeker vetting (which will work if we kill the enemy smokers before losing all our seekers, and maybe even otherwise assuming we have seekers). I am assuming here that thug is a powerful conversion metal and the reason that the elims aren't taking out thugs is because they want to leave the inquisitor harder to find. If it's because it's a weak conversion metal, your argument makes a lot more sense...but I don't think thug is so weak. (It might not be as strong as Steel...but I'd actually place it over rioting/soothing because once a rioter/soother gets converted we can simply make sure all lynches are too overwhelming for one rioter/soother to sway them, and only the very last one before we lose would be subject to the rioter/soother; conversely, Pewter can be used at any stage of the game, and is good against coinshots as well. Seeking is of course the strongest early on, but once three Mistings are converted already, finding more Mistings to kill becomes somewhat less worthwhile because the Inquisitor is likely to have enough opportunities anyway, and the only real advantage from a seeker is finding the strongest mistings such as (IMO) Pewter and Steel.) EDIT: You also seem to be implying that if an elim is killed, that allows a conversion. @OrlokTsubodai @STINK do kills of Spiked allow conversions?
  17. He only gets a new convert if a misting is killed. Which is significantly more likely if we lynch someone with a strong chance of being a thug. (And thug is probably one of the worse recruits for them to get, since it's a passive ability and is harder to deal with even once found.)
  18. Metacognition wasn't a lynch, though; I presume the reason he was specified is because it was Pewter (or uber-Pewter), not iron. There is. Two attacks in a single night, after the Inquisitor gave up uber-Steel, means at least one is a coinshot.
  19. We definitely started with at least two, since Kipper, Ecthelion, and Metacognition all survived with their name given in the writeup of the event (which seems to mean pewter). Only one can be the inquisitor (at most), so that means at least two thugs. (Or a thug and a very lucky mistborn.)
  20. By this point, we've had three people who were lynched/attacked and survived. And if both of the spiked Smokers cover people, I don't think they'll be able to carry out a kill...so it's probably worth having at least a chance of scanning anyway. It may be best not to try to coinshot/relynch them quite yet; the smokers are less protected anyway, and probably more directly dangerous now that the Inquisitor gave up his steel. (Oh, and apologies for not voting; I simply didn't get around to picking someone, and since I already had my vote changed it didn't seem so important to do so again. Hopefully I'll get a chance next cycle, though I might end up not having a chance to post over day 6.)
  21. "I'm afraid not. Not that it would do you much good; pretty much everything we know about the ancient past is due to the Terris keepers, so you'd do better to deal with it directly from the source. Well, except for a few details that have been corrupted, but they're not in your area of expertise anyway. Still, if you get a chance to meet with other Keepers, you might want to let them know that the Terris prophecies regarding the Hero of Ages have been altered, and not to trust any writings on mediums other than metal."
  22. (Small OOC note: Garshin can't actually show Herwynbe what he does, but can tell him; I've corrected it in the quote, and would appreciate if you'd edit your post to match when convenient. Also, sorry I missed the bit where you said that you were told that yours was the protection.) "So my mundane practices are primarily centered around reading. I come from the future, you see, and after everything is all done with in terms of the current events, things will be significantly brighter and people will have time for recreational reading. When I was pulled away to join this mess, I was in the middle of two works in particular. One is an adventure serial, called Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania; after the completion of the main story, a bonus edition was printed in book form, with notes by the supposed editor, a Terrisman named Handerwym. I doubt much is factual, though I am under the impression that Jak and Handerwym are real people. The other is a three-volume history I found in an out-of-the-way bookshop, covering the events we are in the middle of right now from the perspective of the actual individuals involved. The first describes how the Sliver was killed, the second describes coming political events and the accidental release of Ruin, and the third covers the events leading to Ruin's eventual defeat. I was in the middle of the second volume when I was pulled away to join this mess."
  23. You know, Herowannabe, your assumption that the attack was on you is based on you being the only lurcher, which may not be the case. If not, then there's another lurcher around (and the elims already know that, if it wasn't you who was protected), and the elims need not be anyone who targeted you. I don't see anything from you in my inbox. Did you miss that I was soothed last cycle? (Although, I realized that if the inquisitor has a version of zinc that does negate their own vote, it's not a perfect proof...but I think we decided that the most likely form of uber-zinc, if that's in play, is that it does not negate their own vote.)
  24. I think it's more fundamental than that; Syl (like all honorspren) is extremely focused on doing what's right and keeping one's word, while Pattern (like all cryptics) enjoys lies (even if his definition of "lies" is not what humans usually mean by the term). That, more than "boring" is probably where the conflict comes from.
  25. Aonar, will you please share your suspicions and other relevant information, if not with the entire thread, at least with those who have been vetted by their votes being changed?
