  1. Hi folks, sorry for the relative absence. Doesn't seem like I missed too much, but great job to whomever spotted xino. (not much additional analysis to add to that) I will note that I had just started a PM with xino and Snipexe... Both of them read my message around the same time and neither responded. Given xino's flip, I'm wondering about the potential for them to both be elim.
  2. Based on mechanics, it has to have been soothing, right? (full disclosure, that was already mentioned to me in a PM)
  3. Drake I am conveniently in a PM with both leading lynch candidates. So I have them jousting with each other for my vote currently. As I mentioned earlier, however, I'm leaning more elim on Fura than Devotary.
  4. Hi folks, I'm trying to keep up with the thread and will try to get some good analysis out there, but I'm kind of slammed at work right now. In the meantime, I'm not going to to a second day without a vote. Assuming Aman's votecount is correct, we're sitting here before my vote: Devotary (3) - Sart, Drake, Ventyl Fura (3) - Stick, Fifth, Lum Stick (1) - Fura Sart (1) - Araris Reads on people involved in the lynch so far: Devotary: neutral; lean village Sart: neutral - I rather enjoy how Sart is able to effectively incorporate game play into RP. Drake: lean elim - One of the main reasons I'm leaning elim on Drake is due to the potential for pocketing. Drake has twice brought up concerns specifically with me and managed to change those into village reads pretty quickly. Ventyl: neutral Fura: neutral; lean elim - So, this is where I'm sitting with Fura...but after Fura's performance last game where pretty much everyone was reading village.Fura, I'm actually wondering if the fact that I'm leaning elim.Fura means that village.Fura is more likely Stick: strong village Fifth: lean village Araris: neutral Somehow Aman is flying a bit under the radar and hasn't voted yet, but my Aman impression currently is *ninja Stick* neutral; lean village That leaves the following people somewhat unaccounted for: @Young Bard - hey, how's it going? Get a chance to catch up yet? @Aonar - sounds like you aren't going to be around for the rest of the cycle *Ninja Fura* @Snipexe - you had a chance to look at the thread and Aman's non-death yet? @Straw - I have to agree your first comment today read a bit elim-esque, and your second was rather NAI. Anything reads you want to get out? @xinoehp512 - What wagon are you falling off here? Struggling to be engaged in the game? If so, what can I (or anyone else) do to help? If you need more RP happening, no one seems to have had any information on my identity yet, so maybe you could jump in there? And with that, I've spent way too much time on this considering the amount of work I actually need to get done :/ Hopefully that's helpful for people to see where I stand right now. (Had to hop into a short meeting in the middle of this as well, so I'm hoping my thought processes make sense.) Oh, as for a vote? I might as well go with where my strongest suspicion lies. Drake - if that doesn't take off at all and the lynch remains between Devotary and Fura, I'll likely switch over to Fura between the two.
  5. OK, I'm in. Rash Williams. Somehow I got a weedeater fused with my arm in a time/space distortion incident while reading an old Greek novel.
  6. OK, activity level check: Super active: Drake Aman Rath Fifth Fura Devotary Stick Pretty active: Ventyl Lum Kind of active: Sart Aonar Snip Not really active: xino Araris Straw Walin (sorry to hear you aren't able to really play this game) As expected, most of the conversation has revolved around the seven of us who are rather active. For those of you not on the list, what thoughts do you have on the game? I've already created my PM for the turn, but feel free to start one with me or ask for one in the next day turn if I'm still around.
  7. Hmmm, OK...definitely don't think I was 'keeping my head down' D1... For reference, Aman and Stick both were highly active D1, didn't vote, and both voted D1 in the last LG.
  8. Wait, why? I'm having trouble following this logic. You seem to be specifically looking at people who were fairly active D1 but didn't vote and yet Aman doesn't fit the bill? Your last two bullets seem especially designed to remove Aman from your list. Edit: Side note, I chuckled at your conversation with Ark.
  9. What was going on with this place? He still had no idea who he was or how he'd gotten there...only that it seemed likely that he was a police officer based on the uniform he was wearing. He'd had a few people give him cautious nods so far, but no one had given him enough of an opening to get much information out of them. Then, they'd decided to beat one of the other officers half to death?! He got a sinking feeling that was how he'd ended up in this situation, unable to remember anything. ~~ OK, so elim.Drake doesn't make much sense to me either, although I didn't actually see who was online around rollover and could have affected the final vote tally. (I need to start paying a bit more attention to that) Based on posts, me, Devotary, and Fura were all online....and all decided to not vote that close to rollover... So, that definitely doesn't clear any of us to any degree unless Drake is an elim. (At that point, I think we'd all get soft cleared from being elims...but kandra is still outstanding)
  10. OK, so first point. I was starting to wonder why everyone was pointing me out as having come up with the idea of role madness by myself when I clearly said 'I agree'. So I went back to see who had come up with it initially...and found that no one had. OK, my bad. *Cue "Oh, so you must have had that discussion in the elim doc" comment* Well, nothing I can do about that. A combinations of Fifth's, Devotary's, and Drake's comments probably meshed in my head and I came up with, "Oh, somebody else thinks that we're in role madness". *sigh* Stick - Might be going for the derp clear with the '...the kandra can be among the elim team?' 'Yeah, I'm assuming that the Kandra would have a kill.' I'm still trying to figure out what I think of the assertion that mechanical analysis at the start of the game is a slight elim read. *looks at comment about Stick* OK, guess I'm not entirely off there. Drake - " And because I think an eliminator or an elim!kandra would keep such a discovery to themself, you can have one of my Villager Bucks (TM). " - Actually a response to part of what I pointed out from Stick... I disagree. Everyone here assumes there are enough people who read deeply into the rules that something like that could easily be found by someone else. It quickly becomes a bit of IKYK, but I don't think there's any reason for elim.kandra or even neutral.kandra from pointing that out. (Actually, I think neutral.kandra - and yes, I know neutral isn't quite right...but just pointing out it's not elim.kandra - would be more likely to point something like that out to put the elim team off balance. Drake - " A mistborn wouldn't generally make sense in this setting, so it's not out of the question for the mistborn to be a secret role. And we know Bleeder was capable of switching out different spikes to gain different abilities, just only one ability at a time (which is exactly how the mistborn mechanic works). " - somehow I missed this on my first read through. I like this reasoning. That could be why the kandra's abilities weren't explicitly stated. Both Aman and Drake almost forgive their earlier suspicion on my a bit too quickly. Could easily be pocketing by one of them. I doubt both would take the same strategy within like 3 posts of each other...but I guess it's possible. /*side note - Aman still hasn't responded as to whether my d: counts toward the emoji count. Clear elim read.*/ /*Mechanical question - if we have group pms, and one person dies, how is that going to be handled @StrikerEZ?*/ Sart - I'm going to have to some additional reading on the Devotary/Aman interactions. I didn't really notice that in my first read-through. I'm looking back at Lum's assertion that Aman was defensive in the conversation with Fifth. I'm thinking this might be where that comes in: " Every innocent life is precious. Sure this might just be a game, but that's the way I see it. Although it's a risk people sign up for, who honestly enjoys dying? I know I don't. And because I'm a naturally empathetic person, I have issues killing other people. "Do only onto others what you want done to yourself," right? While there's no hard feelings between factions (we're just doing our job), I still take this philosophy into account with every post I write and every action I take. " Everything else was very calm and rational, but this sends out a slightly different tone. Gah, I'm going to get this out right now...but I'm having a lot of trouble finding someone to vote on. I could easily see Araris or Lum being elims and kind of just making sure they checked in but not worrying about getting too involved with the conversation since no elims are under fire. I hate putting off votes to the last minute on D1 since people may not get to appropriately respond :/
  11. So, about 74 minutes now?
  12. I believe we're at about 90 minutes to rollover? (Assuming CDT is Central time.) I'm trying to get a semi-reasonable vote figured out right now.
  13. With poke votes, if they are entirely designed to get someone into the thread and are removed based on that criteria, then I think they are moderately useful. Getting additional discussion in the thread results in more information (or disinformation) being thrown around that can be used to determine who are elims. If the last part of your comment is calling out Drake's truncated list to vote from, I'm actually not too opposed to that kind of logic if nothing better presents itself.
  14. Oh, right. t = using rp to play...or something like that Sart's post was all in RP, but actually had a bit of analysis and a vote. Figured it was worth separating out.
  15. For the first sentence, OK, that's a good point. If there were 25 players, I definitely wouldn't have made the same assumption, so maybe it wasn't a very good one. For the second, I agree that is almost definitely not w/w... I'm almost hesitant to post this since it may kind of disrupt the flow of their conversation. In general, I agree quite closely with Aman's comments. *Ninja Fifth* *Reads Fifth's essay* OK, there go the couple things I was going to bring up... So, new content. So, I'm always curious about how things are going to look in different ways. Here's a brief outline of what's happened so far this turn: a = game analysis p = player analysis l = quick post, usually a response to something specific c = check in or non-game related post r = role play only Aman aaaalllca Ark rrr Lum c Fifth aaaa Araris l Ventyl rr Fura cllllll Rath alllll Devotary aaa Sart t Stick alllla Walin Aonar al Snip r Straw Drake aallap Xino cc Not sure what to get out of that so far. Just thought it interesting. (One of these days I'm going to find some different way to analyze posts that people actually like...) Do these count toward my score? d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d: d:
  16. Hmmm, I guess I've seen several games with the disclaimer 'not all roles are guaranteed to be included in the game' so made the assumption that all roles would be included in this one.
  17. Other than my quick reasoning that having 11 unique roles and 17 players already put us most of the way there?
  18. A kandra on the elim team with the goal of killing the other elims would definitely be quite fun. I'm 100% rooting for this to be the case now. That person would have to somehow get the other elims lynched slowly throughout the game.
  19. For the kandra, I'm interpreting that the same as 'there are elims hiding among the village'. Why do I think everyone likely has a role? With 17 players and 10 allomantic abilities, plus the kandra, I'd say it's much more likely that there are duplicate abilities than 6 players just got left out of having abilities.
  20. Looks like someone saw that and decided you weren't 1337 anymore. My point on thugs was that I don't think we'll be able to convince anyone to willingly die if they can prevent it.
  21. He woke up in the middle of a park and looked around. At least, he assumed it was a park. Grass and trees, looked like there were buildings nearby. What had happened? He couldn't remember anything about who he was, what he was doing, or how he had gotten here. There were a large number of people gathered across the park from where he was, I'm sure that had something to do with what had happened. He looked down. He was wearing a police uniform. Well, guess I'd better go help out. I'm sure someone will recognize me and help clear these cobwebs. ~~ So, I have no idea where my RP is actually going to end up, but hopefully I'm able to have some fun with it. As for some minor game analysis: I agree that it's likely everyone has some sort of role. I actually didn't see anything explicitly stating so, but does the kandra have a kill as well? (Yes, Amanuensis, I'm working on my post right now - this is where I was mentioned, not trying to imply that Aman is the kandra...haha...although...maybe you knew I was mentioning the kandra in my post, so this was a role claim to me?) I'm not sure if I'm interpreting the Thug ability differently than you Aman...but I don't think we'll be able to convince any Thugs to not protect themselves if they're up for the lynch. If I'm reading correctly, they are only able to protect themselves in either the day or the night, right? Based on the numbers in this game, I'm assuming we can expect 3-4 elims along with the kandra. The hazekiller ability seems to imply that there are non-allomancers in the game. Obviously the kandra would be in this boat. I'm wondering if we can make a reasonable assumption that the kandra is the only non-allomancer? As for the inactivity filter. It's not as harsh as it initially seemed, but yes, I agree, please make sure to stay active everyone! It's way more fun if everyone stays active!
  22. Well folks, great game. The three-faction game definitely was a fun wrinkle. Although you didn't win, great job to Maill and Stick for, in my opinion, winning the game for the village, with Lum taking it home at the end. Devotary, Steel, and Fura, it was great working with you all, and Fifth, that was a terrific game. Thanks for putting it on. I don't really have too much analysis on the game, but I had a great time playing.
  23. Hmmm, I'm trying to remember if they ever used a John Doe equivalent in MB Era 2. Let's start with 'X' unless I can find a reference. Also, a question came up amongst the dead in the current LG - for the inactivity filter, just to make sure I (we) understand, if you post twice D1 and then not again, when would you be killed? And if you post twice each day turn but never at night, would you be killed at any point?
  24. Btw, in case my original response didn't satisfy you, I kind of decided on the spot that I was going to RP a character with amnesia who might discover his name if I don't get killed too soon.
  25. Yes...but my character seems to be suffering from amnesia.
