  1. Also, while it would work by using Cosmere-based powers to fight Epics, the Reckoners isn't Cosmere, so no one would ever be able to actually test it in-world.
  2. This is really cool. I've always liked the idea of time travel, and how it is, in my opinion, impossible. At least, traveling back in time can't be possible. I like how you worked the explanation, but I'm still personally in the belief that traveling back in time is impossible, as no matter what, whatever reason you go back in time for will never have existed if you stop/caus/etc it, so you never would've gone back in time in the first place. Forward time travel, however...I can see that as more possible. Of course, you wouldn't be able to return to your original time period, again because of my explanation above. Anyway, sorry for slightly derailing things, I really did like the story. I love time travel stories, even if I don't think they'd actually ever be possible.
  3. Wait, how have I not heard of that song? Is it from their latest album? Maybe that's why, because I haven't listened to tem in awhile.
  4. Well, it just sounds like you really like her, and if this is something new that you two haven't done before, of course you're going to be nervous. But don't worry, everything will he just fine. All you need to do is act confident.
  5. Man, that really was inspirational. I loved that little story so much! That person really was a genius with words. Sorry if this is a sore subject, but is he gone as in no longer friends with you or moved away? Also, just know that you're appreciated here, and we all love and support you. I'm not that great at motivational stuff, but I'll be here to help you if you ever need it, as I'm sure the rest of the community here will be as well.
  6. What version of the song is this? I have YouTube restricted because of my parents, so I can't even see what the video is. If it's Imagine Dragons, I wanna listen to it.
  7. I hope the one you're in, but I doubt that's the one they went to.
  8. I've got Elantris, The Alloy of Law, and The Way of Kings checked out. I'm not sure which one I should read first. I kinda wanna read Elantris first because it's a standalone novel (for now, at least). Which should I read?
  9. Hi, welcome to the Shard! I hope you have an awesome stay here! Here, have an upvote! Also, don't listen to @Darkness Ascendant, the cookies are great. Here, have one! I promise, it only has natural spikes chocolate chips.
  10. This. This bothers me so much. And when people say heighth instead of height.
  11. Man, that was awesome! The only thing I felt was off was the how you referred to the blackcloak guy. Sometimes, it felt like you wore talking about someone else, then I realized you were actually talking about the killer. You should make that a little clearer. Besides that, and some very minor grammar things, it was really good. I would definitely pay good money to read the rest of the book, if that's what I had to decide whether I wanted to read the book or not. Also, I wouldn't mind being a beta reader, either.
  12. I just finishe Scythe by Neal Shusterman. It was really good, and it honestly didn't take me that long to read. Especially compared with how long it took me to read the first Mistborn trilogy. I never realized how much more Brandon Sanderson writes than most other authors. Of course, Scythe was still amazing. I loved how he worked with the idea of death being something humans control.
  13. Hello there, newcomer! I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Shard. Have an upvote, and a cookie! Trust me, the cookie doesn't have spikes chocolate chips.
  14. @Prontos G'day mate, and welcome to the Shard! Have an upvote, and don't listen to what @Flynn said, take a cookie! Anyway, what's your favorite Sanderson book?
  15. @A Budgie That was awesome. And I recognized Manzani as apple. It looks a lot like manzana, which means apple in Spanish. What language are those names?
  16. Wait, what? To me, if looked like he was sleeping or something in that scene.
  17. That's fine. It'd probably be boring if it were too long anyway. And could you? I wanna read it.
  18. That...I think I would actually read that. That'd be amazing.
  19. The shadow looks like a streamlined seagull. XD
  20. Thank you, that means a lot.
  21. Well, sadly, I did not make it to phase 2 of the drum major tryouts. I didn't expect to actually make drum major, but I wasn't expecting to not even make phase 2. I'm just sad and surprised, because I feel like I did really well, besides some minor mistakes. Guess there's always next year.
  22. Aww, don't worry, we're all here for you. It can be any more stupid than some of the things I've done.
  23. I'm so excited! I have the first round of Drum Major auditions tomorrow after school. Honestly, I'm mostly worried about the commands and marching portion of the audition, not so much the conducting. The only thing I have to worry about for conducting is making sure my downbeats are all in the same spot, and I stay in the "plane" so to speak with my hands. What I'm worried about is that I won't be able to march the box drill that well, since it's been so long. Well, I'm still excited.
  24. You get a shiny new vending machine! *inserts Kelsier*
  25. Hey there. Have an upvote, and a spiked chocolate chip cookie! Which part of Chicago do you live in? I might've been around last December for the Midwest Clinic.
