  1. I'll go ahead and vote Jondesu as well. I'll probably analyze and stuff later. @Seonid Also, I changed my vote to HH at some point last cycle.
  2. You now have a complete catalogue of the spren of Roshar, but it's all in the Women's Script. You also now do not have access to the Coppermind or the post(s) on the Shard where they translated the Women's Script. I wish to be able to create money of any kind.
  3. Hey, welcome to the Shard! I'm out of upvotes for the day, but have a free spiked delicious cookie! DISCLAIMER: Side effects include, but are not limited to, hearing voices, gaining supernatural powers, having the sudden urge to kill everyone, and completely losing control over your mind and body. The Dark Alley™ claims no liability for any damage done to/by the eater of this cookie. @TeleWorms already did a pretty good job of introducing you, actually. Though, I'm gonna ask if youve read any of Brandon's non-Cosmere books, like The Reckoners or The Rithmatist? Anyway, have fun! This site is absolutely amazing, and there are so many cool places to post.
  4. Remind me to come back and upvote this later. lol
  5. Ugh, I wanted to upvote most of the posts above me because @Calderis and @Extesian are pretty awesome, but I'm out of upvotes. You're both too hard on yourselves, you guys are awesome. I haven't seen Pagerunner, Spool, Argent, or the others in all their glory yet (though I know how good they are), but you guys are just amazing. Like, I'm starting to get into the theory scene, and you guys are like the perfect role models for what I want to be as a theorizer. Oh, @The One Who Connects is another amazing example of a modern theorizer that's awesome. Basically everything has already been said about you guys, but I just wanted to say it all again.
  6. Okay, Jon HH. I think this a reasonable lynch, if we're trying to promote the Alethi/Parshendi peace. I'm not gonna elaborate too much because I'm tired.
  7. Hey, welcome to the Shard! Have an upvote! And don't listen to @Calderis, have a free spiked delicious cookie! DISCLAIMER: Side effects include, but are not limited to, hearing voices, gaining supernatural powers, having the sudden urge to kill everyone, and completely losing control over your mind and body. The Dark Alley™ claims no liability for any damage done to/by the eater of this cookie. Also, I feel you. I discovered Sanderson through The Reckoners because of my middle school librarian, and I'm so glad for it. I've become obsessed, and I absolutely love everything about his stories. Have you read Warbreaker? Have you read Alloy of Law? Do you know about the Cosmere? What's your favorite story by Brandon? Anyway, I think you'll fit right in.
  8. Well, this could probably be easily explained by the fact that the people of Scadrial used to not be in such hot climates before Rashek's Ascension. Plus, the ash and what Rashek did while ascended probably protect people from getting too dark becuase of UV rays. Plus, it was only a 1,000 years with a hotter climate-that is nowhere near enough time for an entire species to become super dark like the equivalents on our planet (Africans would be the example for this). They'd probably be more like the Native Americans, but probably a bit lighter considering they hadn't been affected by it for that long. And back in topic, I'm white, so I tend to imagine characters as white unless I'm told otherwise. It's just how imagine things. Im not trying to be racist while I'm reading the book, it's just easier for me to connect that way. Of course, doesn't mean I'd connect any less to any non-white characters, I just wouldn't think of them as white.
  9. Okay, this might be a bit off-topic, but this made me think of something. So, we know that the mists are an important part of the Scadrial world, as the ground of the Scadrial CR is mist. On Roshar, we know that the CR ground is instead made of orbs. This makes me think, would the dead body of a Vessel on Roshar still have mist leaking from them, or would it be something like the orbs?
  10. Hmm...@Elbereth I never said I wanted to lynch Orlok. I said I wanted to lynch Yitzi, who is almost certainly a SoH, just based on his posts and attitude so far. So...I don't know why you accused me of wanting to lynch the person who could help us win. I agree that I don't see why everyone seems to be voting on him, it makes no sense. It's the same situation from last cycle. If Orlok is lying about his scan, then he'll just be lynched the next cycle. At least, I'll be pushing the lynch for him. But I don't think he's lying. It'd just be suicide, and with a really good role too. Of course, considering both of our claimed artifabrians were roleblocked, The might both die, which could be really inconvenient. I don't think any more artifabrians should publicly announce their results from their scans. Try and use the PMs to spread the information as much as possible, preferably with someone you trust (assuming there are more out there). And, I know that Jon probably needs to die as well, even on the off chance that he isn't a Ghostblood. I think it's highly likely that he really is a Ghostblood. The main reason I voted on Yitzi before was because I believed we should be fair to the Parshendi by lynching an Alethi who probably wants them all dead anyway. Honestly though, it doesn't matter which of Jon or Yitzi we lynch first. I wanna stick with my guns about lynching Yitzi, but I do realize lynching Jon would be a good idea.
  11. Hmmm.... Okay, I guess that isn't the case then. I don't know what it could be, and I'm tired and have already spent way too much time trying to figure this out lol.
  12. This is amazing. Just had to say that, in case anyone didn't notice.
  13. Ah...I think the problem just sounds like a miscommunication problem, not really a lying problem. Of course, without the PM to see for myself, who knows? EDIT: I realized it could've been miscommunication between your contact and the Highprince. Maybe they both thought they were supposed to protect you. @Seonid Okay, Person A is protected by Person B, a Guardsman. Person A is also protected by Person C, a Highprince. Person D attacks Person A. What happens?
  14. Ah okay, that makes sense. Sorry for coming at you like that. It was just a big misunderstanding! Though that does make me wonder why that contact of yours claimed Highprince when they were guardsman. Are you sure they didn't say that they had a guardsmen ally protect you? I'm just trying to piece this together, because that's really weird.
  15. Well, I do agree that Roadwalker couldn't have attacked asterion, because the Highprince protection wouldn't have been triggered and asterion would've died instead. So I think Roadwalker was killed by a Shardbearer with a Shardblade. That's the only real explanation. And, @asterion137 that leaves you with some explaining. Since Roadwalker couldn't have killed you, but you were attacked and survived, but no one else is dead, that means you couldn't have been protected by a Highprince. Care to explain? EDIT: Just ninja'd by asterion, never mind then I guess.
  16. I'm kind of tired right now, so I'm not gonna work too hard on this post right now. Hmmm...that's certainly interesting. I'm glad that we managed to get rid of two Voidbringers. It'll make peace so much easier this game. I'm assuming that there's probably 1-2 more Voidbringers out there. I'm inclined to believe that there's only one, because otherwise, assuming there's at least 1 Ghostblood Parshendi as well (which is supposedly Jon), that'd leave less than half of the Parshendi unaligned. Plus, now that we know Jon's role (probably), we can take him out later at any time. In order to show that us Alethi are actually willing to fight for peace, I'm willing to lynch Yitzi right now, because he's probably a SoH. I don't think he's a Ghostblood, though who knows?
  17. Yes, I looooove SotD! Not many people like it that much, so it's awesome to find someone else who really like's it as well! And I loved Warbreaker as well. Yeah, the graphic novel wasn't the greatest, but I haven't read the prose version yet (which technically isn't canon).
  18. I almost didn't welcome you because giving away cookies is my thing. Welcome to the Shard! Have an upvote! I agree, when you begin to notice all the similarities, it's so cool. Of course, I went into it knowing they were connected, and had a certain someone's true identity in a book spoiled (it's someone in WoR), and I knew that Hoid was a worldhopper before I started reading, either way, it's so cool that it's all connected. Have fun theorizing with everyone on here a out the crazy workings of the Cosmere. Also, which book by Brandon Sanderson is your favorite?
  19. This. This is amazing. I need this in my life.
  20. We'll, he can't. He had his in WoK, and he's gonna have actual chapters near the end of the book. I have no idea who the interlude character will be, but I'm just excited to read Oathbringer.
  21. I don't even know what to say. This absolutely blew my mind. I guess we haven't seen Taldain recently (around the time AU was written), so we don't really know if they still have Sand Mastery. If this is the case, I'm sure that the Investiture would've stopped fueling the sand, so possibly Sand Mastery would've died out as they used up all the sand, turning the entire desert black. This could be really interesting, as white sand would become really rare and valuable to find a collect for Sand Masters. It'd be a finite resource, but not super finite, considering there's an entire island that's mostly a desert to get the sand from.
  22. Yeah, I've been thinking that for a long time now as well. I'm so glad there's another Steven Universe fan on here!
  23. Oh...I didn't even notice that. Nice eye. I have no idea what it could be. You're right though, that looks nothing like what I'd imagined the soulcaster would like like.
  24. It doesn't look like anything is in it to me, just that she has her hand in a fist. Also, this is kind of obvious, but why the heck is her safehand not completely covered, assuming it is Jasnah? For some reason, when I look at her face, I see marbled skin, though I doubt it's a Parshendi. I don't think I remember them having hair/clothes, though they might've.
  25. Hmmm...I still don't think it works out how you seem to think it does. Even assuming that Len isn't Voidbringer and is lynched, even us Alethi would agree to lynch aster, as it would serve almost no purpose to keep him around if he lied like that (as he would almost certainly be a SoH or a Ghostblood). Keeping him around would just lead to mistrust between the Alethi and Parshendi. Like I've said, I'd be willing to help you guys find the Sons of Honor in exchange for help taking out the Voidbringers. If Len turns out to not be a Voidbringer, I'll help lead the lynch against aster.
