Actually, there are closer to 1600 Shardblades somewhere. Remember, the Recreance vision only showed two orders.

As I mentioned, the "random and improbable events that do not work for or against the Ferring" are a side effect produced both during storage and tapping. This is a inference from WoT, where ta'veren powers have the same side effect.

I think the Elantrians will probably use their powers to make weapons and tools. For example: Crystals or such carved with Aon Daa or Aon Ehe. Throw at enemy Swords that are unnaturally strong and sharp. Pendants carved Aon Edo to shield against attacks.

I think another point is that Honor is one of the most dangerous Shards to Odium, so he doesn't want anybody reuniting that Shard.

I think it more likely that the two lands will formally stop hating each other, Idris will renounce its claim to the throne, Hallendren will renounce its claim to Idris lands, and both parties will enter into trade and mutual defense treaties. Idris copper and wool will be sold across the sea and they will gain the support of the Phantoms and Lifeless, while Hallendren dyes will be sold across the mountains and they will gain someone to protect their northern border.

Inorganic material can't be awakened without the ninth heightening. Animal bodies create Lifeless, just like human bodies. Animal parts (leather, fur, etc) can be awakened in the normal manner.
