I have to say, my favorite plot twist of all time is still Enders Game. Just that one book, by itself, is one of my favorite works of science fiction.

That confused me. Did he KNOW the glyph for the Windrunners?
-
Why did you mention me? I hadn't even commented on this thread yet I had this weird idea that wax never talked to bleeder using spikes, it was only Autonomy. The idea seems to work. Only when they talk actually does bleeder reveal anything regarding stuff only lessie would know. So yeah, I'm a fan of the autonomy thing.

Ok what? Yo. That's crazy. She can't breathe in storm light. That's crazy

The most powerful cross system combos
Steeldancer replied to Steeldancer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Oh that's the other one! The invincible healer! Gold compounding and a truthwatcher. Heals everyone, can't be touched. Freaking best healer powers ever. -
Mainly I will focus on metal born radiants. This is all totally speculation. My favorite is obviously a coinshot/steelrunner edgedancer (or dustbringer). That would allow for essential compounding of speed, with infinite speed (up to the speed of light). Being a coinshot edgedancer also has another fun thing- instead of pushing off of things to get speed, they can push on surrounding metal to get their horizontal speed (instead of using it to fly). I like Steeldancer's power set for a reason Another really powerful one would be a skimmer/windrunner. Being able to store their weight would give a windrunner much more versatility with their gravitation surge, including using a lot less storm light to fly. An elantrian doesn't really match up with any one metal born to make them a lot more powerful, but I imagine a duralumin misting would be able to have some fun. Just as aluminum doesn't just clear allomancy, duralumin shouldnt just boost allomancy. Therefore, I think a duralumin elantrian would be able to create a really powerful aon (for a brief time). It would also pair well with any other investiture system, actually. As a result, nicrosil mistings would also be useful. I haven't figured out a way that nicrosil ferrings could get an edge in any other magic system, but I imagine there are some ways.

I want to know why glyphs appear on shardplate / shardblades. Why don't they just glow omnidirectionally? Why in specific glyphs? It's just so organized. Why that shape for that order? I want to know.

An elantrian! Behold, I doth rise through the ranks quite quickly.

This is why I love brandon. He seems like a genuinely great guy. He has his beliefs but his characters aren't defined by them. He can explore other things, and does so without it feeling forced *AHEM MARVEL COMICS AHEM*.

Nerdspren- appears in the presence of nerdouts. Looks like little nerd glasses. Eurekaspren: the spren of discovery

[OB] Theorizing some more about Shardplate
Steeldancer replied to yulerule's topic in Stormlight Archive
First off I'm going to assume that Shardplate has some advantages we haven't seen yet. Remember the overlaying thing for Adolin during the battle on the shattered plains? I'm sure there are more functions of sharplate we haven't seen yet, especially when they start making their own. I'm sure active Shardplate will have distinct advantages (such as the whole instant summoning thing) -
Long Game 38: In the beginning...
Steeldancer replied to AliasSheep's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I hope I'm no longer starving now that I got some more pancakes. Sorry for not being around. Craziness in life. Might remain boring for now. Unless anyone wants to get married?- 713 replies

I mean the actual plate itself. Not the glowy stuff. That's obviously different. But the plate itself is silvery if it's alive. Still wondering how those glyphs form though. He's a live blade. Big difference between alive and dead.
-
Right.
-
Guys you all realize that renarin still has his shardplate?! He isn't disgusted by it. He's disgusted by the BLADE.
-
It was an oathbringer post lol.
-
I have no idea what an originator is, but I got my first ever popular post and I'm very pleased.
-
I'm not sure it's forged. I think it just kind of appears, like in the flashback. it'll probably appear in some dramatic moment. Occams razor. The simplest explanation is often the best. If it was windspren, windspren are usually visible.
-
But why would he ditch dalinar... I mean Adolins great and all, but he's still Dalinars horse.
-
There are 2 theories: it's either made of stormlight or spren. Me? I'm inclined to say it's stormlight. Because... you feed light to it? And then the light turns into whatever shardplate actually is. It would also explain how KR keep their storm light handy: no need for gems when your armor is MADE OF STORM LIGHT. The spren theory is nice too, but I'm not sure it's quite as plausable. The reason I put it here is due to the whole "spren kid" thing. I don't think it's Syl hinting at shardplate. Also, I feel like there should have been windspren in the WoK when Dalinar had the vision of the Windrunner and the Stonewarden. He dismissed parts of his plate, and there were no spren of any kind to speak of. Another idea is that it is somehow a hybrid, stormlight with little windspren inside. But... all shardplate looks the same (as in there aren't 10 colors of shardplate). It's all grey (or silvery in the visions). I'm hoping we'll see shardplate by the end of the book! Then we'll get some answers.

She wouldn't have her blade.
-
I also called the highking thing. Called it in the last thread. It was the only way it could go.
-
SAME! Ok. Parshmen strategy. Stealing boats, food, and making demands? Where is all the destruction? I want VOIDING not POLITICS. Also when is tarangavian going to betray dalinar
-
But it's not a shardblade: it's a sylblade. Gumfren. I think that's it. They sound weird. Also I had finished before I posted. Speed reading at work
-
Ok All the renarin haters can SHUT UP because he clearly used regrowth, and has a shardblade. Please stop hating. Although, that moved fast for Renarin. Hm. Also a new critter! A creature that has a gemheart that allows for meat making.
