  1. I don't think they would have unique powers
  2. As I recall, not all Orders need to be at oath three to summon their Blade.
  3. Ooooo, I like this. Id much rather see Stormlight animated: Jasnah - Maggie Q Dalinar - Bruce Greenwood Bruce Greenwood has a voice thats deep and luxurious enough to fit the Bondsmith, and just listen to Maggie Q as Wonderwoman and tell me that doesnt fit Jasnah (Greenwood is Batman here): Shallan - Mae Whitman Venli - Cree Summer Kaladin - Nolan North Syl - Tara Strong Adolin - Josh Newton Navani - Gina Torres Taravangian - Mark Hamil Stormfather/Tanavast - Keith Motherlovin David Hoid - Clopin from the Hunchback of Notre Dame ....minus the odd accent maybe? This dude just screams Hoid to me though. What a troll: https://youtu.be/R-XONxvdq4Y Szeth - Liam Obrien Basically I, want Szeth to sound like Gaara: Elhokar - Yuri Lowenthal Rock - Alec Baldwin Odium - Graham McTavish Jezrien - James Callis Blondie:
  4. Living shards or dead ones? If living: shardblade If dead: shardplate
  5. This makes a lot of sense. If he never used corrective lenses then stormlight would never be able to give him clear vision because that would be something he never experienced.
  6. @Eran of Acadia: You provided a simple summary and others provided more detail. Is there anything more that you find confusing? Do note though, we know the "what" at this point but not the "how." We cannot really give you the mechanics it all.
  7. What a guy. Constantly reminding me why he's my favorite author. Very, very pleased with this reading and with Leshwi having a large role. I found her immensely interesting in Oathbringer. A fraud though??? Wondering what my mans Moash is up to.... Agreed! It could explain why the flying fused are those we see the most they likely fared better than others due to spiritual gravitation....maybe.
  8. Basically, Tanavast stepped out on Cultivation, Zeus style, and had a bastard son. That son is Nohadon....and no Tanavast and Cultivation were not on a break.
  9. Ah yeah, I was just answering the OP as to what led to the belief that lesser spren could be Plate. I'm not particularly attached to that theory though I dont mind responding to your points: - I think that the spren manifest in the physical realm as Plate once that level has been reached and they have been summoned. Essentially, their function changes and they become "shardplatespren." -Kaladin did summon windspren at the oathgate....but he wasn't going to swear the oath at that time. I feel that he was closer to the oath and his bond deeper when he was contemplating on the ship than when he was desperate to save the team at the oathgate. Yes, he was trying to say the words but he just wasn't there. That wasnt the moment. Its similar to Lopen (apparently) intentionally trying to get a power up at the Thaylenar battle but failing only to accidentally advance while contemplating the 3rd oath later. Intention and thought on the part of the partnered true spren to start. Which leads into.... -This point. People find Syl's comments interesting as they could easily be forshadowing her role in molding subspren into their new role as Plate. As spren of Plate which were shaped by the true spren, the spren would be tied to the identy of the Radiant and shouldnt interfere with Plate. -See my first point. I find it relevant that there are small points of power converging into specific shapes. Regarding one of your earlier points, I dont think subspren are actually.....alive? Not really capable of conscious thought and so wouldn't scream. Its also worth noting that Plate bonds with its wearer but to a lesser extent that Blades.
  10. From what I remember: -Precedent. If True Spren can condense into the physical realm as a metallic material, why not the lesser mindless spren? -Radiants seem to frequently attract specific lesser sperm: windspren for Windrunners, creationspren for Lightweavera, gloryspren for Bondsmiths. Elhokar even noted that gloryspren appear more frequently around Dalinar and the Herald portraits that we see in Oathbringer feature the same sperm. -Windrunners gain Plate at the fourth oath. When Kaladin begins drawing close to the fourth oath, he attracts windspren though the he is in Shadesmar and there is no wind....i cannot think of any reasonable explanation for this other than those spren being drawn to his oaths. -Syl's talk about rounding up and directing spren -Jasnah being surrounded by lines of light taking geometric forms seems to point to individual points of power converging
  11. It's from Moash's description of the incident to Kaladin. The difficult situation I was referring to was Kaladin assisting Moash with achieving his greatest goal only then trying to snatch that goal away from him at the last instant. Kaladin might have been able to talk him down if he had attempted earlier when Moash came to visit him.
  12. We dont know Elhokar's intent as we weren't in his head and he never stated his intent. We do know that Moash was aware of Roshone and his competition with Moash's grandparents but still found Elhokar ultimately responsible (and not just a dim button pusher). Yes he was. He empathized with the Singers and chose to join and support their cause. He had a clear reason for fighting. He wanted to prove himself to the Singers in the battle and help them to win it. He didnt lead his team to the palace because he thought he might have a shot to kill Elhokar; that was just chance. I agree. *nodding head in agreement* No....bottling. Blame Will Ferrell for getting it stuck in my head. I don't see this mentioned enough. Kaladin gave Moash permission to proceed with assassinating Elhokar and waited until the last possible instant to turn on Moash and oppose him. He put Moash in a very difficult position.
  13. I dont think a soldier can murder an enemy combatant during the middle of a battle. If, let's say, Jasnah got it in her head to kill Moash, I would understand the desire and sympathise. Elhokar is dead...... This can change. As a note, i don't care whether Moash is redeemed or dies like a dog so long as his story is compelling. Ultimately, how it's viewed depends on whether Elhokar was complicit in Roshones schemes and that seems to be where we most significantly differ in opinion. Hopefully, we learn more from Roshone since our other two sources are incredibly biased.
  14. "Legal maneuverings" is a really fancy way of saying that he ignored their right and threw them in a dungeon. If this concerned actual legal proceedings I would agree. For the purposes of this discussion, its just a matter of semantics as my intent when using the word murder was to indicate that what Elhokar did wasn't lawful. I'm still not sure how this was a matter of competence. Seems a simple matter of right and wrong....his skill at his job didn't matter. Odd comparison especially when you stick muder to the end. Let me make some adjustments: Let's say that there is a bus driver whose buddy tells him to smack into a car being driven by an elderly couple because he wants to delay that couples return home while they rob them of everything they own. Then "whoops" the couple dies of their injuries and this driver receives no punishment because he is simply too powerful and well connected. But hey, he feels bad about it, maybe (who knows)..... Also, Moash didnt murder Elohkar. He would have but he didn't. Elhokar was punished? I disagree. I think Moash was fully justified as he had no other way to seek justice. Okay. I dont think there is such thing as too far gone.
  15. Elhokar threw elderly people into a dungeon to make his buddy happy, ignored their right to a trial, and left them to rot. I don't see how it's a matter of his competence. He legitimately just didn't care about their lives, and it was unethical as well as unlawful. Would you prefer I say involuntary manslaughter rather than murder? Truly a pointless distinction for the purposes of this discussion.
  16. .....theres no need, truly. Being verbose isn't synonymous with being specific. Who said they could? The armies use scouts and maps for this reason among others. In the first bridge run we ever see, Kaladin specifically notes that the army intentionally chose a point to cross where the 2nd plateau is slightly lower and the gap between the two plateaus is smallest. Oh you really want us to explain how a character (who you described as a scholar) started reading a book and then finished it after a reasonable amount of time?
  17. .....I dont find his explanations to be clear at all. This is why Ive asked for clarification on how he is using "inconsistent."
  18. I liked Elhokar.....but the dudes a murderer. He got what he deserved. Yes. Hes easily one of the most realistic characters. Ive met Moash before....many times. I find the hatred people feel towards him to be mind bottling.
  19. To quote a separate story, you seem to want it to be one way.......but it's the other. Sadeas is too fallible to be a villain? Shallan has trouble focusing and so cannot devote herself to a task under any circumstances? ....what are you talking about? Please provide your definition of "inconsistency."
  20. Only 3 Bomdsmith if we're considering the Knights Radiant (those bonded to spren)....not all that complicated.
  21. Incredibly, none of those points mentioned are actually inconsistencies. Other posters have already explained why.
  22. Eating color and slicing through hard objects like a hot knife through butter seem sufficient as demonstration of its magical nature.
  23. I didnt know that.....thats really cool so thank you
  24. 1) Odium cannot force the transformation onto the Parsh. 2) There's nothing indicating that Odium actually has the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of spren required for everyone to take storm form.
  25. I'm sure Moash's story will not be ended abruptly. Brandon has done a lot to set him up. ....I may have agreed if he hadnt killed Jezrien. I cheered when he killed the king but killing some random civilian for no reason other than being ordered to?
