  1. Okay, time to come clean. First off, I am an Awakener. I have been talking with the dead, and keeping track of them. And I’d like to point off a few things going on with Shqueeves as part of it. So, Shqueeves has talked about an Awakener Contact, as well as a secret Worldhopper type role. Well, both of those are true to a degree, but shrouded in lies, So, there is someone in the dead doc, who only shows up once every 3-ish cycles. They apparently have a rotating Role, that will give them one of 3 roles every cycle. Awakener, (this one I know what it does, due to actually having it :P), Captain, and whatever the third one is called. (maybe it is just a vanilla role). We have been working, and have determined that, due to balance reasons, Shqueeves almost has to be an elim. This is due to the fact that the balance for an elim team compared to the Worldhopper (apparently it is called a Returned) has to be fairly large and powerful, and we have seen no evidence of that. Elenion, Randuir, and Lopen were all super nice and did a deap dive through old docs and threads, looking for whoever matched up with Returned’s posts, and they came across quite a few things that matched Shqueeves decently well. Beyond that, in doc, the person recently expressed that they trusted me, Drought, when Len asked about it, but Shqueeves obviously does not, which would make a liar of him, further putting for the idea that he is an Elim. We have also seen slight vote manip going on, every now and then, that could easily be chocked up to whenever Shqueeves has rolled the Vote Manip role, and used it to his advantage. This means that, there is someone with a secret role, and that Shqueeves is most likely that person. Due to how late we were able to figure this out, I’ll be keeping my vote on Coop, as changing over to Shqueeves last moment will not be effective, and I think that the info we will get from Lynching Coop will be very useful.
  2. @Drake Marshall the rollover time isn't working for me... What time is rollover at? (Time from now would be best)
  3. Tunneling probably wasn't the right word... It is more that he is focusing in on something small to put his vote on me. And, that it coincides with Coop doing something fairly similar. But then again I'm kinda doing that with their posts... That's kinda where we're at in the game, right now. So maybe I over reacted, but I don't want to get lynched, and I don't think anyone really does. A mis-lynch now could cost us the game. We all know that we are village, but no one else knows, for sure, that anyone else is village. So we're at the point where we look at small points in posts to try and find anything that could let us win... I think. Tl;dr I suspect him for, as stated above, placing his vote on me for something so little, as well as Coop doing the same. It feels like they are forcing a lynch
  4. This is from a multitude of posts that came before it: This one This one And this one I have been attempting to avoid the rules, but it is really hard to when most of the discussion in the past was based upon a rule, so, while I have yet to read the rules, I have still picked up on different roles, at least slightly. Did you expect me to ignore everything in the thread in the place of not knowing any of the rules? Although that's fun it is impossible to do both and also be able to respond to the thread as a whole, sadly. Now I'm curious why you are tunneling in on me so much as well... this coincides with Coop tunnelling in on me, and it puts you on my suspicions list as well. My current Elim reads are Shqueeves and Coop, and I'd be open for lynching either of them, so I'll keep my vote on Coop for now, but I'll be willing to move it at a later point.
  5. That is kinda what I was getting at, though. You were inactive, and most people who end up going inactive tend to stay inactive/fairly low posts. Of course, this changes dependin on the player, but I had assumed from my last experience with you in the AG that you would be a lesser poster, and not post a lot. Beyond that you have also been online in the Discord, which automatically makes me think that they've played more games than what they really have. Mainly because of how focused you have been on me, Coop focusing in on me makes it seem like you're targeting me for a specific reason, like a role you want to get rid of, or for something that I said you (and your potential) Elim team don't want brought back up.
  6. Yes! I know Ecth has been really busy recently, as well that he just started a new tri at his school, so his schedule is still setting into place, and Ecth did RP, which seems very in character for Ecth to be doing. Coop, again, I saw this as being something that is fairly normal for him, and was more of him sticking to his usual play style rather than him staying under the radar. Monster posted RP, which I quite enjoy, and ended up changing my gut read for him, because it was fun I haven't played a game with Straw in a while, and remember little of playing with them, but seemed to recall that they tended to be more active overall, so it seemed more like they were flying under the radar. Mac, Bort, and Devotary were all Deductive instead of Inductive (had to google search the difference to be sure). I had had a slight gut read on all 3 of them, either slight village or elim, and I looked at their posts and tried to figure out what we making me lean that way. I didn't realize that I had given practically the same reasoning for both of them. It was probably tone of their posts, or maybe even something as simple as profile pictures that made me lean one way or the other. I have really no idea. (hopefully that all makes sense) NOW WHY WOULD YOU READ THE RULES AT ALL?!?!?!?!? THAT IS BADNESS! Ecthelion Not really, Ecth. Lopen(3): Arinian, Bort, EcthMac(1): MonsterArinian(2): Joe, CoopMonster(1): BRLegend(1): Lopen Shqueeves(1): Devotary BR(1): Drought In reality I need a vote, and I still don't see that much of a reason for lynching Lopen, Arinian made a more thought out post which I quite like, and I don't overly know where to put my vote for now. So, I would like to bring someone new into the spotlight, someone who has been lurking in the shadows this whole time! Alvron come out of the shadows! BR. BR, you have been busy, yes, but you have yet to really contribute much to this thread. I would really like you to become more active, and participate with the rest of us more, if possible. This is not a poke vote because I'm confused by the game because I didn't read the rules, and then there is all this talk of secret things, and Drake said something that I didn't read cause it seemed Rule-like and I'm not confused in any way shape or form. @BrightnessRadiant
  7. Well, I do not have a good number of reasons to trust Shqueeves as a village captain, from my point of view, I have seen a player who is mostly disconnected from the game, and has yet to do anything for me to get a super solid read. I've gone back through his posts, and have still have yet to see something that convinces me that he is village (or a captain, for that matter, but that doesn't matter too much). If you could give me some reasons, either in thread for everyone to see (which would probably be best for everyone) or in PM, and I'm more than willing to take my vote off if I am given more of a reason that 'I just really trust this guy.' as it could easily be a defense that an elim could make for a teammate. That being said, Coop, I have a good read on you currently so I don't think you're an elim, but if Shqueeves ends up as one then I will take a deep look at you. I will also, as soon as I can, take a look at you and see if my village read is mostly gut, or is founded. Your 'several' people is actually just you and Arinian, so far. If you would like to keep your vote on me, for the sake of the village as a whole, please try and go find specific things that are giving you a bad read on me? You said that this is your first full game, so I'll give you a few tips for analysis: 1) Take a look at all of the players posts, and make some notes of what they are doing, and your response to it 2) Point out specific points that stand out as either being good or bad 3) Synthesize the good and the bad together, give a summary, and a final read. That is my general protocol, but it allows you to get specific points of evidence to convince others of what you are seeing, and allows others to come to their own conclusions. Also, while doing analysis, it will help others figure out your alignment due to what you do and do not notice. I would suggest going after only one person at a time, as looking at everyone can be very overwhelming. Good luck with analysis! And I hope that it goes well for you.
  8. Yay for full vote participation! I'd like to make a few requests this cycle, 1. Please vote 2. When you vote, please C/P the vote tally that I'll have at the end of this post, and update it, so that we can always attempt to have the most up to date vote count. This way there are no chance for errors, as people will only have to worry about updating their vote on the chart. Shqueeves: The tone of your posts has been fairly off, and you have not contributed much to the discussion. This vote is partially for you to say more, but also partially because the tone of your posts seems almost uncaring, as if you have an elim team that could back you up, and prevent you from getting killed. You have pointed out 'something here seems off' but you didn't spend any time looking at the post, and trying to figure out what it is so that the village could benefit from it. This also reads slightly like an elim to me. (Also, see Elenion's post above) I'll be taking a closer look at other players hopefully before the cycle ends, and try to make a post analyzing at least 3 more players. I'll probably go for Len, Lopen, and Joe as they have contributed the most and this way we can make sure that we aren't following an elim. Votes (Please Copy and Paste this when you make a vote!): Shqueeves(1): Drought Devotary(1):Lopen
  9. Could you explain what you mean by this? I am slightly confused what you mean by me saying little. I have said more, but I have also posted analysis, which no one else has done yet. If you have a way that you would like me to structure my posts so you can get more info out of them, then let me know. I've also tried to explain why Arinian is my biggest read, so... what can I do to help with that?
  10. You see, this is what makes me suspect you. You say suspecting you is insanity, yet you give no reason for why it is actually insanity. You are simply saying I'm not an elim! but then you aren't giving actually reasoning as to why you are not an elim. If you give reasoning, and do not just respond to me voicing my concerns, and pointing out what I think is suspicious, by not doing anything constructive, then I will be able to lower my elim read on you. As it stands, this response seemed to be an attempt at just saying you arent an elim, which succeeded in convicning me more that you are an elim. Arinian - Made a post defending himself against my allegations without actually saying why he is not an elim. Elim Read Arinian Mac Reading back through this post: The tone seems slightly rude, but I dont know how to fix it while still conveying my meaning (and I'am mostly out of time to be typing this currently.) If it comes of in a bad tone then please let me know, and I will attempt to fix it as soon as I get a chance
  11. I meant you, Shqueeves. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll move you down to Very Slight Elim Read, cause I doubt an elim would have pointed that out.
  12. I would really appreciate that, as I won't have a chance to play it for.... probably a long time
  13. Sorry, Arinian. Didn't end up removing my vote, I completely forgot about how short cycles are in QF... (Apparently only a day this game, who woulda thunk? Don't recall reading that in the rules ) Well, thoughts: Getting Rand lynched for the elims seems like an amazing play, but I feel like most elim teams wouldn't try to hit such a prominent player D1, as it would put some suspicion on them fairly early. So I don't think Straw and Mac are elims, but it could be worth looking at again. I also don't think that we should be leaving the lynch up to the gods of luck and chance each day, cause it could cause us to lose a vote due to elim vote manipulation, and we might lose a useful villager who is helping us. Now, on to reads, 1. A Joe in the Bush Has seemed fairly useful, and seemed genuinely concerned for the village at the end of the last cycle. Slight Village Read 2. Elenion Has also been useful to the village, and been pointing out possible elim ploys, encouraging activity, and being useful. Slight Village Read 3. Randuir Idrian Captain Had some really useful posts, but has yet to post this cycle. I'm thinking that he is conspiring with the elims! Major Elim Read 4. Livinglegend Been fairly quiet, and did a random poke vote. Hasn't contributed much to the discussion, but also apparently got a new job. Congrats on the new job! Very Slight Village Read 5. Shqueeves - "didn't really care who ended up dying." Hasn't done much, and the previous quote seems almost like an attempt to distance himself from the lynch. Slight Elim Read 6. Bort - Hasn't said anything yet, this cycle in thread, and was fairly quiet last cycle. Recently posted (30 min before I typed this part of the post) on another part of the shard. Did a poke vote, and hasn't said much. Very Slight Elim Read 7. BrightnessRadiant - Has had less activity than her normal, but has not been active on the SE discord either, and has said that she is busy. Don't blame her too much. Neutral Read 8. Straw - Voted on Rand, only really done poke votes, and hasn't contributed much else. Very Slight Elim Read 9. TheMightyLopen - Done lots of vote counts, and participated tons in the thread. Very useful. Slight Village Read 10. MacThorstenson - Has been active, but hasn't contributed too much to actual discussion, maybe trying to appear active while staying under the radar? Slight Elim Read 11. Devotary of Spontaneity - Hasn't been too active, but done vote counts, so decently useful. Mainly used fairly random voting Day 1, but didn't we all? Very Slight Village Read 12. Ecthelion - Hasn't been that active, and posted RP mainly. But, from what I remember of past games doesn't seem out of character for Ecth, Very Slight Village Read 13. Coop772 - Lots of talking, with fairly little actual content, but seems fairly what I recall of playing with Coop, Very slight Village Read 14. MonsterMetroid - Lots of RP, but has been fun to read. Would like more discussoin from you, but, RP is good too, Very Slight Village Read 15. Droughtbringer - Obviously the most Eliminator like player on this list, Very Very Major Elim Read 16. RippleGylf - Again not too much, but seems to be fairly genuine in the tone of his posts. Very Slight Village Read 17. Arinian - Two posts, sounded fairly sarcastic in defense of himself, which put a slightly bad read on him. Slight Elim Read Hopefully this list of reads will help, I didn't spend too much time on it so please correct me if anything I said about you was long, and I'll update my list accordingly. My elim reads, so far have been Slight Elim Reads: Shqueeves, Mac, and Arinian Very Slight Elim Reads: Bort, and Straw I still feel bad for not removing my vote on Arinian, and I think that MacThorestenson has a slightly higher chance of being an Elim than Straw, so that's where I'll place my vote for now.
  14. Well, color me excited This sounds like an amazing thing to listen to, and I've been needing more things to waste my time on, so... please help me, I already waste enough time on listening to Podcasts!!!!
  15. To join you wait until singups are up for a game (I can send you a PM when the next one goes up, as I tend to spend too much time in the subforum), and you simply say "I am signing up" and give a character if you would like to RP at all during the game, but you don't have to (in most games) Rand did a great job of explaining pretty much everything else, so... Welcome to SE!
  16. Well that's annoying. Now I actually know one of the rules. To start this game off I'd like to request that if you are going to be talking about any of the mechanics or rules of the game, if you could preface it with something that stands out, probably in bold, that tells me that there are rules, cause I really don't want to know the rules of the game Besides that, I'd suggest that we make sure that we have a lynch this cycle, as not having a lynch tends to be bad for the village day one. (According to tons of game stats(that I've never actually seen, so...) Ploys: I could see the elims holding vote manipulation, if they have it, until near the end, allowing them to pull unexpected Vote Manip out near the end of the game, when we don't expect it. For us to counter this, we need everyone to stay active throughout the game. The village also can hold their vote manip, but there is a chance of them being killed by the elims and never getting a chance of using it. I could also see the elims doing the opposite, and using their vote manip to make us think that the Village is using Vote Manip, and then turn on us. Again, the only viable option for this is to work is making sure that everyone stays active, to do our best to cancel out their manip. As a general rule, I think that we should always assume that the village has two less votes than what we think the village has, just to be safe. (Is there vote manipulation in this game? I'm really not certain... Don't actually tell me though, please. I'll just work under the assumption that every type of role I can think of is in the game) I'll spend some time thinking of other possible ploys. So, it seems like there will be 3 or 4 elims, 3 being the /5 rule, and 4 being the Square Root rule. This means a few things: Assuming higher elims, that puts the village at 13, and the Elims at 4. A perfect elim game, with a lynch and a kill every cycle puts us ending at the end of cycle (assuming the elims have to only tie, not outnumber) cycle 5. (Actually would be the same for both tie and outnumber), but that is assuming without any Vig kills. If there is a Vig than being sparing with your kill, as missing with it each day ends the game at the end of cycle 3, and I don't quite want to lose that fast. If there is a Vig, than it will almost definitely have to be on the side of the village, as ending at cycle 3 is slightly ridiculous, even for a QF. If you are a Vig, then please try to PM around, and get reads in the thread on people. Don't just assume that because you're in a PM with someone that they won't lie to you, and that you can trust them. I could see the elims having a PM spy, though. So, if you are going to claim to someone try to set up a code one cycle, and then claim using the code the next. This means that a potential elim spying on you will either have to spy on you two nights in a row, or will only get your coded claim, being useless to them. Roleblockers, I could see there being a lot of them, but I don't think that there would be that crazy of a distribution for a new GM, like Drake is, so there probably are only 1 or two. I see the elims possibly having one, and the village having one or two. As Randuir said earlier, just be careful with the info you get from it, and try to keep it in good hands. Scanner: Rand didn't mention this in his post, but there still might be one so... Scan people! But, as a village, we can not be dependant on scans. We all have a much cooler version of it that lets us scan everyone in a single cycle, and it is called Analysis! (Crazy, right? :P). Just make sure that you are doing at least some analysis each cycle. (Back to actual Scanner stuff) if you scan someone as an elim, then let one or two people know via PM. Please start doing a lot of analysis now, and discovering who you can (probably) trust. Thug: Do tons of analysis, and tons of reads to try and make the elims scared of you, if they are scared of you, and they don't know you're a thug, then they are likely to waste a kill on you, which would be nice. (Also, be wary of a WGG) Other roles I forgot about, or decided not to type up because we probably don't have them (Like I doubt we have open ended roles): Do analysis, and try to stay active. Not being active can get you killed fast. Because we need to vote and the time is not working for me, I'll be placing a starting vote on Arinian as he has not showed up yet, and also was the last to sign up. @Arinian if you come online, and don't make a super suspicious vote, then I'll take my vote off of you. (Make sure to ping me though, so I can be sure to see the vote) Also, if you're lurking, please come say something! If you don't have time for much then say "I didn't like some of "X's" posts, so I'll be voting on them" as it will at least keep you in the game, and that is more useful for us than having you die Cycle 2 to the filter.
  17. The Breaths of ten-thousand, the life-giving aspect of everyone contained here. Zaffer thought, pulling his cloak tighter around his shoulders. It didn't have a command, no. this wasn't an object to be Awakened, it didn't have that spark that Zaffer could feel in others. No, this was merely a tool. Something to use to hide himself while he watched. And there was plenty of watching to be done. Zaffer hobbled down the street, his left leg dragging behind him uselessly, his head to the ground. He was a drab, someone that most people payed little attention to, and it would serve him well in the coming days. Each person in the city was his enemy, each object a deadly weapon. He kept his posture low, and his head bowed, but his eyes were flicking around, searching for any sign of a coming attack. It was dangerous, Zaffer knew, to be walking around without anything protecting him, but it was just as dangerous to be walking around with all of his Breath with him, so he stumbled down the street, each action deliberate, to make him seem much weaker than he was. Something caught his eye, it was a long scarf rapped around someone's neck. It was made of a thousand threads, each woven together in such a way that the colour of it didn't seem to be a dye, but something more. It was as if the materials that this scarf was made of were destined to be made into a scarf. and Zaffer knew that he must have it. He shuffled through the crowd, making slower progress than he would have liked, but eventually he made it, a few feet away from the Scarf. He carefully stuck his leg out, causing the person wearing the scarf to trip. If someone would like to be wearing a scarf, then feel free to. If not I'll continue this later, by myself. Also Xaffer just sees objects, and that's what the 'spark' is.
  18. Do not take the cookies if you know what is good for you. Welcome to the shard! Hope you enjoy your stay. What books have you read?
  19. I litterally stopped reading, closed my eyes, and slowly moved my hand across the screen so I could quote just this, without reading the rest of the post
  20. Wow! I already got some fun information, so lets get started (Doing a new post, because new information). Fifth scholar is killing Bugsy! Sart and Fifth Scholar are working with Orlok to kill me and Bugsy! Orlok will help Sart and Fifth to work towards killing all the Fnords once he has a monopoly on the kill! Also, this set was fun cause it has to deal incorrectly with me. Awesome. Wonder if someone made it up to make me hesitate on things, or not  @Orlok Tsubodai@Fifth Scholar@Sart@Bugsy@Droughtbringer@Fnords!
  21. What do you have against being brutally murdered, then having your bones and some almost human creature run around, pretending to be you? That doesn't seem bad to me at all Edit: Well, this game has been quiet, and I feel like part of that could have been PMs, and that type of thing, but I think that we could really use some more activity going on, in thread. Soooo, lets talk secrets. Behind each one of us, there is either an inactive player, or someone who is scheming behind the scenes, and, since I have no value for my life and just want to have fun, feel free to PM me secrets that you want outed, and I'll make sure to post them in the thread probably next cycle. Any all secrets I tell are not for sure to be true, as someone could PM me outright lies. But I feel like the thread is just being quiet, and boring, so I'll start this up and see where it goes. At the very least it should make the thread more useful. I will be a good information dealer, and only say things that appear in my PMs for LG42, so I'm not going to look through old games where someone told me X was plotting to kill X, or make things up myself and just type them here and post them. So the information might be reliable. But hopefully this make the thread more active, or gets me killed, but fun either way.
  22. I had an absolute blast playing this game, I wish I could have been a bit more active, but overall it was amazing. Thank you Orlok, Wilson, STINK, El and Heron for helping with the behind the scenes stuff. And voting.... gah. I have no idea who to vote for :/
