(1) I don't want to die. (2) I said I'd be willing to lynch Lotus at the beginning of the cycle and I stated my reasons for being suspicious of them in the last cycle.

@Fifth Scholar Well I'm glad I'm not dead, but gratitude doesn't have much to do with whether or not you're an elim. I can be grateful and still be suspicious of you. And like I said, I suspect that the motives behind your posts were to save a teammate (Striker). Even if that's not the case, it was incredibly strange. TJ brought up the good point that you didn't want to lynch me because there didn't seem to be much to it, which I agree with, but if that was your reasoning, it seems awfully strange that you agreed to a last minute lynch train. None of us were lynched, so how can you be sure of that? Since none of us have been confirmed village, it's possible that the analysis is completely spot on and we just don't know it. I want to point out that Fifth was the first one to bring up Devotary as a lynch target. She was one of the only players to have a decent level of trust last cycle. Bringing her up created more chaos and confusion last cycle and got another villager lynched. I'm going to vote Fifth for now. I agree we need consensus among the villagers on who to vote for this cycle so I'll switch as necessary. List of people I'm willing to lynch: Fifth, Striker, Lotus, Straw, Vapor I think everyone on that list has been mentioned by me before except for Vapor so just to touch on that, I'm wary of Vapor because he keeps voting without providing any reasoning.

I'm going to quote myself from last cycle: I keep seeing it mentioned that I always deflect suspicion, which is somehow... suspicious. What am I deflecting exactly? Because in C2, despite the lynch train on me, people didn't feel very strongly about lynching me. IMO the reason the suspicion keeps "sliding off me" is because there's no substance to it. I just see a lot of votes without much reasoning behind them. @MysticLotus @Vapor Both of you voted on me saying you find me suspicious, without elaborating. Would you guys be willing to share your reasons for suspecting me? Not sure if I'll be able to get on later so voting on Fifth for now.

Hell if I know, but I'll try to add something to the discussion. I don't like how quickly Vapor and Ash jumped on Mist. Vapor just repeated TJ's reasoning. Ash seems more tentative, so I'm interested in what their promised later post will contain. Yeah, this was odd. I could see an elim doing this to protect other lynch targets (myself and Striker). Same honestly, but I'd still like to hear some thoughts on players besides TJ, if you have any. Yeah, considering how things have been going, I don't like the amount of trust Straw has gotten and I've been taking a closer look at the end of last cycle. Straw kept the focus on TJ and Pyro in C2. In C3, he says he's suspicious of Ventyl and ended up voting for Striker. He worked very hard to provide reads in C1, which is how he gained everyone's trust but it's easy to do that in C1, because you can switch your reads later (since C1 reads have little basis anyways). Fifth provided a lot of reads on C2, but he marked Pyro as his primary elim read once the Pyro train already started. In C3, Fifth went in to defend Striker once it was apparent that Striker was a viable candidate for the lynch, successfully keeping the attention on myself and Ventyl. The Ventyl lynch was already getting some support from Straw and Gears when Fifth voted for me, and when Striker became a viable candidate (Straw and Gears, who were very likely going to lead the lynch both indicated that Striker wouldn't be a bad target), Fifth says he doesn't want to lynch Striker. I vote for Striker, then Fifth brings up Ventyl again. For the most part, the rest of the cycle turned into a Ventyl vs. Mint situation, which took a lot of attention off Striker. Right now I'm wondering if there's a Fifth-Striker-Lotus team, so I'm going to vote on Fifth. Lotus is the one who started with the Ventyl suspicions last cycle.

Yeah, I don't know why it's so quiet. It's kind of frustrating. As far as lynching me goes, I have no idea how to defend myself when no one is pointing to what I've done that's suspicious. Striker and TJ are the only ones who've provided reasons and I've answered them both. I'm also really hesitant to vote now since so many of my suspicions have proven to be wrong. I wanted to hear what other people have to say. I would really prefer if we didn't have a quiet cycle with an influx of posts in the last hour.

Alright. There's an hour left until rollover and the vote counts have barely shifted. Voting on Striker for the sake of self-preservation but I would really rather that another alternative came up. Also @The_Truthwatcher if you are indeed village, I think it's best if you vote on a suspicion rather than an inactive. Not sure if it means much since there's a fair amount of suspicion towards me right now, but I'm opposed to a Striker lynch. I have more neutral reads on Ventyl and Truthwatcher. It doesn't seem like there will be any support for lynching my main suspicions. Vote count: Frozen Mint (5): TJ Shade, Gears, Vapor, Ventyl, Fifth Striker (2): Lahilt, Straw TJ Shade (1): Striker Shard Of reasoning (1): Frozen Mint Ventyl (1): Mystic Sparkrunner (1): Truthwatcher

I don't see what elim!Mint would have to gain from switching her vote to Pyro, unless she was protecting elim!TJ. Which would be strange because I have been pretty vocal about finding TJ suspicious. I have village reads on Straw and Eternum at the moment. I'm also getting village vibes from Striker, especially based on their analysis this cycle. Reading over the posts last cycle, Gears' and TJ's interactions stood out to me: - Gears defended TJ in response to Eternum's post. This was after a number of suspicions had been raised about TJ. - Gears then says that we should lynch Pyro as opposed to TJ. He says that Pyro being an elim makes TJ more suspicious, and Pyro flipping village makes it more likely that TJ is village (playing off of Straw's idea). (This was also after Matrim asked Straw to choose between a Pyro lynch and a TJ lynch. Gears answered before Straw did.) I will also say that Gears has shown he plays well enough to potentially be good at disguising himself as a villager. So the whole new player thing is NAI. (Striker's reply to TJ.) This. Very much this. So I'm seeing an elim team with both Gears and TJ. On the other hand, I don't really know what to think at this point since my suspicions keep flipping village. I'd like to see what others' thoughts are. But one thing I've become more certain about on a reread is that I'm really wary of how Shard of Reasoning is voting and not contributing much to the discussion at all. And thus far, they have managed to stay completely out of the spotlight. Fair warning that my activity level is going to go down. This game started the weekend after I finished my course so I was pretty free but now it's onto the full-time job search. I realized that I was spending... a lot of time on the QF.

Okay, I stand by what I said about Pyro's earlier posts not being suspicious but I would've expected him to defend himself by now. Not only is it suspicious but this sort of hands-off approach does nothing to help the village. TJ. Pyro. Pyro: 9 (Gears, Matrim's Dice, Straw, Shard of Reading, The_Truthwatcher, Vapor, Lahlit, Pyro, Frozen Mint) TJ Shade: 4 (Eternum, StrikerEZ, MysticLotus, Ventyl)

You're contributing but you haven't taken any strong stances, which makes it easy for you to change your stances without drawing attention to yourself. I don't think it was flimsy. I had mentioned that I had an elim read on Silber earlier in the thread and shared my reasons for it. I didn't have elim reads on Pyro and Straw. My bad! You'd think I'd be better about this considering how many times I've run into the same issue lol. I'm getting more of a village vibe from Matrim's posts this round, but I find it really odd that he voted so quickly this round after I said he was suspicious for voting slowly on D1. It's almost like he was making a quick attempt to subvert my suspicions. His given explanation (that he saw something that stuck out to him earlier this round) is plausible but I have to say the whole thing is very coincidental. I want to look more closely at Straw's posts. The paranoia's setting in and the absolute lack of suspicion toward a single player is kind of alarming. I don't have time now so I'll see when I get to it. I still have a village read on him so I'm not too antsy about it. That being said, I really don't like how much weight is being put on Straw's opinion. Matrim and Gears both took Straw's directions re: lynching TJ vs. Pyro. I would highly encourage us... not to do that. Even if you have a village read on a player, they are not confirmed. And in general, this sort of thing can also lead to less analysis in the thread overall. I also really don't like Shard and Truthwatcher bandwagoning... But I also don't really like the plan to lynch Pyro so there's that. Honestly, I don't find Pyro particularly suspicious. His vote on Fifth to mimic Straw was strange, but it doesn't make me think they're an elim. I'd think an elim would try more to justify their votes, not less. And there wasn't much else going on so I don't think it was deflection. My gut also says he's village. I was already suspicious of TJ and honestly, his defenses make me more suspicious. There's a defensiveness about them. They give off the tone of someone who's been cornered. I'm curious about the players who haven't really posted so far, but I'm okay with letting the inactivity filter take care of them. As for players who have posted but posted minimally, we'll see how things shape up in the next couple of days.

I agree Ventyl's post is very odd. But it makes me think it's too odd to indicate elim. Not a good way to look un-suspicious. Matrim, your vote on Ventyl is interesting considering you took a while to consider your options last cycle. Is the change intentional? At this point, I'm pretty confident that Vapor's suspicious behavior is more due to his newness than anything else. I have a village read on Eternum for the same reason as Straw. They've made some good contributions to the discussion. I'm retracting my suspicions on Fifth for now. I didn't realize that the opinion of random voting leading to meaningful discussion was one that existed to be honest, which is why I jumped to the idea of it being a contradiction. But if that's Fifth's stance, I don't know if I agree with it, but disagreement isn't really cause for suspicion on its own. I'm looking more suspiciously at TJ Shade. They're providing commentary here and there but it's almost like they're trying to look like a helpful villager while lying low and not really pushing things one way or the other. But that could just be their playstyle. I'm certainly not one who should be pointing fingers at players for not being assertive enough. I don't want to vote for them, but I do want to keep an eye on them. And I'm sure I can trust y'all to point out any flaws in my reasoning because this game is very busy and keeping track of everything is wild. I'm not very good at analyzing voting patterns so am interested to see what other people come up with.

Here to place my vote before the cycle is up. I kind of want to put pressure on xino for informational purposes but voting on them doesn't seem useful given the current tally. Between Pyro, Silber, and Straw, I find Silber the most suspicious.

What do you mean by this? I think I've complained about the random voting and the Fifth bandwagon. I've argued quite a bit about the random voting, and I've done my best to encourage people to give reasons for votes. As for the Fifth bandwagon, I've done my best to get Vapor and Pyro to say why they were suspicious of Fifth. I was referring to how you hadn't yet shared any suspicions on anyone back when you posted this: You were contributing to the discussion but you hadn't voted or provided reasoning as to why we should or shouldn't lynch a particular player. edit: nesting fail... sorry about that

I agree. I'm not against lynching Fifth but I'm not a fan of voting to hop on a train unless there's a specific reason for it (like Devotary's). Not that I'm particularly suspicious of Vapor and Pyro. Vapor's new and Pyro said they'd be busy this cycle. But I really hope that no one else jumps on the train without providing some reasoning. edit: So Pyro's back and retracted his vote which seems strange? For now I'm just going to take that as he managed to get some free time. Also we no longer have a train on Fifth which... I'm glad we've exploring a broad range of possibilities. But I would really like for @Fifth Scholar to respond to the accusations. Hoping he will do that even without the train on him though, considering all the attention he's gotten. What does circle voting mean? In general, I'd like to hear more from @Shard of Reading @MysticLotus @Mist @Experience @Ventyl @StrikerEZ @Lahilt @Sparkrunner Long list. Sorry. Some reads: Gears - mild village. Someone already mentioned this (forgot who) but I agree that a new player casting the first vote is unlikely to be elim. Matrim's Dice - slight elim. Generally seems to be promoting discussion and wants to be thoughtful about his vote. But I wonder if the hesitation to vote might be an elim delay tactic. It's easier to feign innocence if you get more involved in things later rather than sooner. Straw - mild village. I didn't like his idea about waiting to vote until he has a reason so early on but that seems more like a genuine disagreement. He's done a lot to promote discussion since then. One thing I will point out that it's kind of strange Straw complained about the current voting trend when he hadn't done anything to try and influence it. Silber - slight elim. Jumped on the Fifth-xino team idea rather quickly. Before you all jump on me for hypocrisy, my main complaint isn't that it was hasty. Elims are unlikely to support each other out in the open so early on. There's no reason for them to at this point and it just makes them more suspicious. This could just be a disagreement but I feel like this kind of grouping could also be used as an elim tactic. Plants the seed in our heads. Proposing a pairing now could be a distraction tactic. Fifth - slight elim. Their initial post is strange. They want meaningful discussion but also say they're okay with random votes. TJ Shade - mild village. They seemed to be laying low at first which I thought was suspicious but their recent commentary on Straw seems more helpful and less bandwagon-y. Xino - slight elim. This is more instinct than anything (sorry xino). They seem somewhat unpredictable and also noncommittal. This might just have to do with the nature of stab voting? I'm not really sure what that is. But I'm not feeling great about them. I'll vote later. Mostly because this post took forever and I want a little SE break now. @Gears You need to take back your last vote by writing that person's name in green before you can vote on a new person (if you did and I missed it, apologies, this thread is moving faster than my brain can lol). Vote Count: Fifth Scholar (3) - Lord Silberfarben, Devotary of Spontaneity, Vapor Lahilt (1) - Xinoeph Gears (1) - Frozen Mint Eternum (1) - StrikerEZ Straw (2) - Fifth Scholar, MysticLotus Pyro (3) - Eternum, Matrim's Dice, Straw Xinoehp (1) - TJ Lord Silberfarben (1) - Truthwatcher

Oh I agree that it's preemptive. It's just the best reasoning I had thus far. Still flimsy reasoning since it's still D1. I didn't. I appreciate that you pointed it out though. Gears. I don't want to vote on any new players in the first couple of rounds so if y'all could let me know if I do, that'd be grand. I should clarify, my primary motivation for voting on Gears was to provoke discussion. In my experience, the only way to start meaningful discussion on D1 is for someone to place the first reasoned (as opposed to random) vote and that reasoning is going to be tenacious no matter what so early in the game. I have some commentary, but I'm going to read through the thread again and take some time to put together my thoughts before writing up a more detailed post.

Hm. There's a contradiction here. Your first post heavily implies that your "vote on someone with no votes" plan applies to all of C1. Without much else to go on yet, I'll vote Gears. We'll see how the cycle plays out. We won't get any information with this strategy. SE games only work with accusations, betrayal, and backstabbing. We have to lynch based on suspicion if we want meaningful lynch discussions. In fact, because of the inactivity filter, we can safely assume that if someone's not voting, it's not an elim trying to get out of killing a teammate, and is indeed someone who's gotten caught up with life. I'm firmly against lynching people we see being inactive.

That stuck out to me too. I'm leaning towards the explanation that a whole lot of people drew the Taylor defense. Which would also mean that there'll be a lot more bloodshed next round. I find it unlikely that the vast majority of players drew Lines of Forbiddance.
