  1. So I'll vote for Joe, and I may or may not be able to come on again before the end of the game.
  2. Well. We have the unaligned Parshendi who claim that killing SoH is necessary for peace, because the SoH are going strong and more Parshendi dying, regardless of alignment, moves them closer to their win. Basically, killing the Voidbringer at this point means that we put ourselves at the mercy of the Alethi. Yes, we have a Shardbearer, but they're not too hard to hunt down if we're being honest. So from the Parshendi point of view, the Alethi are basically saying that they will work for peace so long as the Parshendi pose practically no threat to the Alethi. At which point the Alethi could work for peace... or could kill off all the Parshendi, because the Parshendi have no agency. The unaligned Alethi want threats to them eliminated because four of them have died. Which makes it more likely that a Voidbringer hits one of them instead of an SoH. They don't trust the Parshendi, Voidbringer or otherwise, because the Parshendi haven't helped with killing any of the Voidbringers. Words are easy in SE, actions are what truly tell you about someone's motives. I will admit that I did offer to help find the Ghostbloods and the last Voidbringer. Not that it turned out to make much of a difference. The Alethi think that if they don't kill the last Voidbringer, they'll keep dying to the point of no longer having the level of control they do now, which means they'll have no choice but to side with the SoH if they want to win. So in their eyes, Parshendi support to kill the Voidbringer is the way towards peace. (To be fair, I think that if we had more promotion of peace from the Alethi earlier, more SoH would be dead, and we might not have this problem.) So... we're at a place where peace is... I'm not quite sure. The Parshendi won't be comfortable until more SoH are dead, probably more than just killing one this cycle. And by that point, it's likely that the VB kills some unaligned Alethi. The Alethi aren't comfortable letting the VB stick around that long or even for one more cycle, by the looks of it. I don't really see how any way but peace is the way to go for the unaligned Parshendi though, and there's only one way I can promote it right now, even if it's hollow. I'll place a symbolic vote on cloud (symbolic because, honestly, does anyone believe Striker will be lynched now?). If you think I'm just putting on a show for peace or are suspicious of my true intentions, I don't blame you. But I don't know what else I can do this cycle. Vote count: Striker (3): Alv, Drake, cloud cloud (7): Joe, Sart, Straw, Yitzi, Stick, Striker, Mint
  3. I'll vote for BR. Targeting SoH is now priority. Most of the Voidbringers are dead, and a good number of the Ghostbloods are too. I wouldn't be surprised if someone protected cloud. We had talked about how protecting each other in warform would be useful in doc. Also, why would cloud tell everyone that she protected Drake last cycle if she knew she'd be caught the next time she was attacked? She could have been protecting Drake at risk to herself. But if she's either a shardbearer or VB, it would have made more sense to protect herself, first and foremost.
  4. Len had mentioned it in the doc before he died. Also, Orlok had said that he was roleblocked. Not that it will make a difference to the lynch either way now, but Jon. Yes. You are more dangerous now. This is obvious. What made you think there was trust in the first place, though? At all? This is SE. Trusting an opposite faction is... not exactly something that happens very much. I was thinking along the same lines as Drake, but I wouldn't use the word trust. I question how genuine the for-peace Alethi ever were if they're only comfortable with working together when they feel fairly safe. Of course, that doesn't apply to those who were against the peace treaty from the start. And I'm starting to get the feeling that the Ghostbloods are controlling this game. My gut says that there's something very fishy and very effective going on. Sorry I haven't been on much, this week has been much more hectic than expected. Can't make any promises that I'll be able to come on more often in the next few days.
  5. Don't know if I'll have time to get on again tonight so El. HH. I think it's the fairest agreement we're going to reach.
  6. ETA: Forgot to remove my vote on Orlok. Right. Good point. El. Your skepticism of peace is fair, but I see you siding with the SoH more easily than working towards peace which worries me. Not sure how much I trust this statement, but it'll keep me from voting on Yitzi for now. Orlok's dying next cycle, so we'll be able to see his alignment. If you ask me, we'll be in a better position to discuss lynching Jon then. I might change my vote before the end of the cycle. Let's see how this plays out.
  7. I don't think Jon is a Ghostblood considering that he's been somewhat active, and there have been no Ghostblood kills. If Orlok was roleblocked last cycle, then he knows that he'll probably die next cycle anyways. He has nothing to lose by lying. The other possibility is that the Ghostbloods are watching and waiting and letting the other factions kill us in the meantime which just emphasizes the need for peace. I'm pretty sure Alv echoed how all the Parshendi are feeling right now. If we're going to achieve peace, I need to some effort on the Alethi's part to get rid of the SoH which I am happy to say I am seeing. No, it assumes that the SoH believe that the unaligned Alethi would work with the SoH, even if the SoH decieved them, for the sake of winning the game. They could be hoping that a greater power imbalance will sway the Alethi for peace to adopt a "lynch all Parshendi" attitude. So if Orlok is lying, he's SoH. Or maybe a Ghostblood. If he's not, I wouldn't say that I have a SoH read on him. Therefore, I am going to place my vote on Orlok for now, and I will consider removing it if Orlok himself comes up with a more suspicious Alethi lynch target.
  8. Alright so I can't be on here long, but I'm going to cast a vote on Elenion. I do think that he's a Voidbringer, and I don't want this game to become an Alethi vs. Parshendi game, because I don't think that gives the Parshendi a better chance of winning. I highly doubt that asterion is lying. That would almost amount to him sacrificing himself to get Len lynched.
  9. That's how I interpreted the rules originally. Ngl, I'm kind of proud that I was the only one who knew what was going on, it's usually the opposite way around. Alright, I'm not gonna lie, I totally forgot that this game was today. The number of Parshendi players is a lot lower than the number of Alethi which makes sense. I thought it was strange that the Sons of Honor didn't have any additional abilities, unlike the other hidden factions, but now I see the balance. I don't think Yitzi is a Son of Honor, because he proposed that a SoH/Voidbringer alliance would be useful to those factions and I don't see a SoH seeing things that way. But Yitzi is pushing an Alethi/SoH alliance against the Parshendi, so as a Parshendi it's in my interest to vote for them. I also don't see how it would really help the unaligned Alethi more than an unaligned-Alethi/unaligned-Parshendi alliance either. Voidbringers have more abilities available to them. See my point about numbers above. The Parshendi have a faction doc, so if this turns into a Alethi/SoH vs Parshendi/Voidbringers game, the Alethi/SoH aren't necessarily stronger just because they outnumber us. Also this setting seems really cool and I should read the Stormlight Archive.
  10. Thanks for the offer, but no. Interesting notion though, player deaths would bring the game to an earlier end. Hmmm. I want to sign up, but I'll be going on vacation at the end of this month.
  11. I haven't read these books, but this looks fun. What are the chances that this game will end by the 28th?
  12. You know, it still looks like a little kid using paint, but I think this one turned out better than last cycle's. Just to be clear, that is a tongue, not blood. ___ Weaver worked hard at her desk. There had been whispers in Ponyville that she was a Changeling spy. She didn't know if she would last the night or be taken to Zecora's hut. But if so, she was going to leave them all behind something to remember her by in the meanwhile. Weaver held up her new design. A masterpiece.
  13. I... don't have anything to say other than I can't believe I didn't find the contradiction in my own logic. But I can speak to my thinking at the time. The thing is that I didn't know if there was foul play going on with the lynch, and I wasn't going to find out unless PK was lynched. And it wasn't just about the votes, but also about what opinions were being voiced about PK in general. PK was a strong lynch candidate, because so much discussion centered around him. We have so little information early game, I always feel uncomfortable voting for someone, because we're grasping at straws. But PK's posts got me thinking that we don't necessarily have to lynch to get an elim early on, we can lynch to get information. So I went in that direction. I still stand by the fact that lynching PK would have given the village useful info., although stating that voting for him makes players more suspicious didn't make sense. It's not possible to trust someone with 100% certainty in this game. To be fair, that's what got me so far in being an elim last time. I did say that I like the idea of the PM, and I suggested a way for it to be more foolproof against the elims: If we have three "confirmed good" players, it's unlikely that two of them are elims, so if there is betrayal, we can catch it more easily. As for asking questions, I will admit that I've always been kind of embarrassed to ask questions in the past since I'm new (this is my 4th game? I think?). But I've decided that's silly, so in this game, I think it, I ask it (after checking to see if it's already been answered somewhere). If asking more questions this game seems odd compared to how I've played in the past, that's why. And I do think that the answers to my questions are helpful to the village, even if they're also helpful to the elims. In general, information about gameplay is useful for everyone.
  14. I'm on my lunch hour right now and only have 5 minutes, so I'll throw up a quick post. Won't be on again until tonight, 6 at the earliest, but it'll probably be after 7. Dang, I'm kind of impressed by the reputation I've built in MR21 I asked about whether someone's role is revealed if they are kidnapped, because it would affect randuir's plan. If the Generosity pony is kidnapped, and it's not revealed in the write up, the elims could make up claims about who had the element and who they were passing it to. Of course, whoever had passed the element onto the kidnapped pony would reveal, but what if they were lynched that same cycle?
  15. Yes, but we lost Loyalty to the lynch. I'm wondering if it'll still be mentioned if it's a kidnap.
  16. Hold up, Mad Eye Moody wasn't evil, he was one of the good guys! As for voting this cycle, I'm getting a slight village read on Jon since he's trying to promote discussion. I have a stronger village read on PK, because trying so hard to get a villager (i.e. Jon) lynched seems like a pretty risky move for an elim. Unless they're both elims, and they're playing us. Which is possible, but we don't have enough evidence to be going down that route at this point. Randuir is also reading village to me, and I like the plan for the element of generosity. I also have a village read on BB, BR, and Flash. Although I'm more hesitant about the latter two, because they're newer. I personally found it easier to be less suspicious as an elim in the last game I played, because I was newer. Gosh, coming up with someone to lynch is hard... I have to go for now, but I'll come on tomorrow, although I'm not sure how elaborate my post will be. The one thing about the element of generosity plan that I want to mention before I go is that it's a good way for confirming that someone is an eliminator, but it doesn't necessarily confirm with completely certainty that someone is village. For example, an elim could make a lucky guess about who the element was passed on to, as unlikely as that may be. My gut is telling me there's another kink in the plan, but I can't place my finger on it right now... I like this plan too, but the PM should have at least three people, in case one happens to be an elim (see above on how we can't confirm a village pony with 100% certainty). @Herowannabe If the Changelings kidnap a pony with an element, is it revealed in the write up? (Sorry if this has been answered, I've been looking through the threads but can't find it.)
  17. Weaver looked around as almost everypony panicked. There was only one thing on her mind. She walked back to her house and went down into the basement where she kept all her supplies. The news about the changelings was absolutely horrific. Terrifying. Equestria-shattering. And the perfect inspiration for her new creation! She picked up her needle and got to work. Once she had enough fezzes for everypony in Ponyville, she stood back admiring her work. The hats were designed to look like sirens. Perfect for the end of the world, if she did say so herself. Weaver picked up as many fezzes as she could carry and ran out to share them. ____ Fez provided as promised. Notice, however, I made no promises regarding my drawing skills. I tried.
  18. I was thinking about this today too. I had said earlier that the pony with the element of honesty should be scanning pegasi, but then I started thinking that if they scanned pegasi and unicorns made more one-on-one PM's to hopefully connect the pony with honesty with a trusted village unicorn... It's an overly-simplistic plan, but I couldn't get any further. Just putting the thoughts out there. I'm honestly getting neutral vibes from PK and BR, and I'd find Straw's bandwagoning suspicious, but this seems like Straw's normal style. I would like @Straw to expand on her reasoning for the vote though. I considered voting for Jedal since they voted on PK and then retracted their vote with little comment. That's the best I have for elim leads, but even that feels like very weak evidence. However, following PK's own logic, I think that killing PK would be the most helpful in terms of obtaining information. Many people are suspicious of PK, and a good elim move would be to join that train of thought (if PK is in fact village). While saying that PK is suspicious isn't necessarily an elim-like thing to do, going along with the majority suspicion of the village (particularly when it's backed by decent reasoning) would be. So, PK. If PK is village, I'm going to be more suspicious of those who supported lynching him.
  19. To be fair, we do want to lynch someone otherwise a village pony is guaranteed to be eliminated this cycle due to the element of generosity. I do think everyone's being pretty quick to cast votes, but I always think that. I agree that unicorns should be creating PM's every cycle and make a special effort to include earth ponies and pegasi. Whoever holds the element of honesty should target unicorns if they feel it will help them establish a trustworthy link with whom they can share information. But IMO knowing which pegasi are elims would be preferable in terms of information that would benefit the village. I would avoid targeting earth ponies without a very good reason to do so, since the use of their ability is completely public. I also have a quick question. If the pony holding the element of honesty targets a pony holding another element, will they be told the target's element?
  20. Dang it, I shouldn't join, but I will. I can't not play an MLP game. Name: Weaver Type: Unicorn Cutie Mark: A fez Cosmetic Role: Will make a special kind of fez for everypony to fit the tone of the cycle I, for one, am completely trustworthy.
  21. Alright so, first off I'd like to apologize for how scrambled my brain has been this game. I didn't really have the mental energy for a longer post yesterday, and I've come to realize that work plus trying to keep track of an SE game is not a good combination. @Amanuensis I performed a Line of Making on you, because like I've said through out the game, I find you incredibly hard to read. I an try to garner something from others' posts, but yours always sound like you're trying so hard to be village while at the same time containing some very helpful analysis. Yes, I had been PMing with Lopen. As randuir had pointed out, he had told I and a few others his role earlier on. So I'll confirm that much.
  22. I used a Line of Making on Aman last cycle, and he drew Line of Warding. So Jondesu.
  23. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to devote as much time to this game as I'd like, so I probably didn't help the lack of early lynch discussion. But I'll try to share some quick thoughts. This explanation assuages me somewhat. If it was earlier in the game, I would have probably been more satisfied, but I feel like we're on a thin line right now which is making me more suspicious of everyone in general. Some of you have to be elims. I won't vote on Seonid this cycle, but I still want to keep an eye on him. Ornstein is really rubbing me the wrong way this cycle. Again, he has voted on someone without contributing to the discussion. I had said before that his posts lack subtlety that I would expect from elims. But I'm not quite sure what would motivate a villager to post the way he's been doing. At least if he's an elim, I can imagine that there could be some reverse psychology going on. Because what elim would post in a way that was so directly unhelpful to the village? @Ornstein Could you elaborate on your vote for Aman? Moving on to other lynch candidates. At this point, I don't think Joe's done anything indicating that he's an elim, but his posts don't seem helpful and villagery either. So I'm suspicious of him as well, similar to how I feel about Seonid. And Aman... Well, I find it really hard to read him. For that reason I have him as neutral currently, but I can't say that I have a solid read. If you were more suspicious of Joe, why had you originally voted for Aman? I'm curious. ETA- Vote tally: Joe (3): Lopen, Brightness, Seonid Seonid (2): Len, randuir Ornstein (2): HH, Mint Aman (1): Ornstein
