  1. Some time earlier... Balthazar stood atop the roof of a tower, watching as the other initiates strung themselves to the ropes, which in turn were tied tightly to the top of the tower. He smiled. This would be an experience he wouldn't forget any time soon. But if the Captain ordered it... Who was he to refuse? Holding onto the rope with both hands, Balthazar tightened his grip. He wasn't sure how this would turn out, but he sure as Braize wasn't going to let go of this rope. He gritted his teeth... and the storm hit. Instantly he was thrown into the air, and seconds later, he was slammed back down. As it turned out, clenching his jaw was a bad idea. Balthazar spat out what remained of his tongue, roaring in pain. Slowly, he pulled himself forwards. Wrapping the rope around himself, he grabbed its end, and held on. There wasn't a lot else he could do. An interminable time later, the Highstorm ended, and the Captain came flying out of the clouds. Balthazar stood up, shakily. He spat out the blood that had filled his mouth, and found that his tongue had begun to grow back, and the numerous cuts and abrasions he had received were slowly sealing over. He smiled. He could get used to this regeneration thing. Some time later... "My name is Hithon. To whom do I have the presumed honor of addressing?" Ah, thought Balthazar, This one. So he can speak. It will be nice to have some decent conversation. From the sound of it, this man is highly born. "My name is Czarn, as I believe I said earlier. I-" "I am Teresh." said Teresh, stepping in front of Balthazar, "Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?" Balthazar stood up, affronted, as he was interrupted. Hithon, as he had said his name was, had just introduced himself, when this person stepped right up to him, and interrupted. Balthazar cleared his throat, in an effort to remain calm. "Excuse me, sir." He began. "I was talking to this man. End RP. Ok. Sorry I haven't been super active, guys. Hopefully, my activity should increase as time goes on. I'm not really suspicious of anything right now, but that could be because I haven't been paying a lot of attention. The suspicions seem kinda weak, but I'll try to form some of my own as soon as possible. As Sheep appears to be going inactive anyway, I'll put a vote on him, as it shouldn't cause any problems. I'll look over the thread tonight/tomorrow, and will get some suspicions up then. I shouldn't be as busy any more, but Idk. Hopefully I'll get another post in before the cycle ends.
  2. Obviously, Joe, you're just not that much of a threat! I'm still pretty suspicious of El, but if nobody else sees it that way, I'll have to look through my suspicions again. I might reread the first several cycles in light of the information we have to try and get some more suspicions going. I know a few people have been suspicious of me, but if I could say one thing in my defense, I'd never go inactive as an Elim. It's just too exciting, plus, as easy as it is to survive by going quiet in LG's, I just don't like that play style. Being an Elim is fun. Carmichael snuck up to the Mysterious Manor. It somehow had managed to exist in Tyrian Falls for an inexplicable length of time without acquiring a name, without anyone learning the name of the owner, and without a single person figuring out how all that food had gotten there the night of the first death. If that wasn't suspicious, Carmichael didn't know what was. And so, here he was, slowly creeping along the outer wall of the manor, looking for a way in. After a few moments, he saw it! A window, placed a few feet above the ground. Carmichael rubbed his hands together. You couldn't live as long as he had, doing what he did, without having to get out of a few dead end alleyways. There was always someone unhappy to have lost all their money, and escaping them was half the fun! Taking a look at the Manor, Carmichael backed up, took a running start, and slammed his foot into the wall. Using his momentum, he took a few steps up the wall, grabbed onto the windowsill, and pulled himself up. That had gone well. Now for the next bit. Randomly assigning skills to your character as needed is fun.
  3. You know, I really get that. pumps fist Someone trusts me! A little bit, anyway. Well, losing multiple AG's in a row would definitely be disappointing for me, at least. I would still play the next one, for the reasons you specified, but I could see people not wanting to lose another AG. Carmichael fell into his chair, and wiped sweat off his brow. That was something he never wanted to do again. Moving most of his stuff out of his house, and then back in? Yech. Well, hopefully today he could rest, and start planning.
  4. I'm signing up. Which is totally an awful idea. But now, I'm still the first person to sign up even if I back out later. And my name is PS. And all of those times would tend towards being a little wonky for me, but I think that the earlier the better in this case.
  5. Balthazar sat uncomfortably at the table. The blind man appeared not to have heard him, and after sitting awkwardly for a few minutes, Balthazar began to wonder if the man was deaf as well as blind. "I say," Balthazar commented, a little louder this time, "The food here is quite good, is it not?" There we go. In that case, I'm still unsure what spren I want, so I'd rather save and spend all at once then just slowly spend away, and be locked into one decision.
  6. Are you sure? I though Honor was spent...
  7. I said I was a smoker in-thread. It's possible that the Elims have a seeker, which is why we have so many smokers, but it's also possible it's to combat the Mistborn's powers. Ik. I had actually decided to vote on El before you posted, but my post took a while to write, so it got posted after you did. Thanks. Besides what Wilson has said - and if I'm remembering correctly, Wilson is the only one who's given viable reasons for lynching me - why do you want to lynch me? Because, right now, your vote has no backing, in the face of, while it might be a bandwagon, a lynch that has some sense to it. Still, I have no problem with dying. I just would like to make the most of my abilities, in whatever way possible. El! Glad to have you back. Sorry that you came back to find yourself being voted upon. Perhaps you'll follow my lead and escape being lynched only to realize that the other lynch was completely awful. To be honest, I hope you're an Elim, because then I would have been right the whole time, and we'd have a successful lynch.
  8. Balthazar stood amongst the throng of people, baffled. There were many, many more people than he had expected to be here. The Radiants were truly returning in force. He peered about, quietly, attempting to make note of every person there. It was an old habit, from even before IT had happened, and time and treachery enforced habits like this. He liked what he saw, in most respects. Balthazar was sure the Kholins would do well with this group. He wandered over to a table of food. Rather, he appeared to wander over to a table of food. He had changed out of his rag-tag outfit since the test, and was now wearing one of the outfits he had kept from his days as a... trader. Yes, that fit what he had done pretty well. He had traded in objects of value, of course, after obtaining them from places where they were worth... less. Yes, that would do nicely. Anyway, he shifted between people, making his way purposely towards the table, while appearing to wander. Going unnoticed was a skill that had made itself useful in all of his previous professions. Once at the table, Balthazar picked through the food until he found a nice heavy piece of meat, plenty of fruit, and some bread-like substance. He would need to regain his strength. Yes, he was still wiry, and had never really lost his skill or agility, but he would need a soldiers body if he was to gain any standing in this place. Thankfully, training his body was another thing he had done many times before. He spotted a mysterious blind stranger sitting alone at a table of food. That was interesting. A blind Radiant? Fascinating. Walking towards the table, Balthazar sat down. "Hello, sir," Balthazar said. "My name is... Czarn. How did you come to be at this... gathering?" Ok! Lets get started. I, for one, will not be going for a Spren just yet. First of all, I'm going to be trying to follow Balthazar around this game, and he's not ready for a Spren just yet, and second, so many people will be trying to get them that I'm not sure I want to waste stormlight just yet. About activity... Activity is always important. And not only is the voting scheme in this game especially compelling, but without Honor, the village can't do a lot. So, be active, people. I'm going to read over the rules again, and try to formulate some ideas, so I can contribute more. So far, I like what I'm seeing. I'll also try to be more active as time goes on, but life is pretty busy for me right now, as I've said elsewhere. So my activity might not be as on point as I'd like.
  9. You're right, Araris. I had thought of this earlier, but it was after I had written the RP and liked how it sounded. Carmichael. I'm back! Heeheehee. I've only been using my ability on myself, to make sure that my vote couldn't be moved. Carmichael turned back, tears in his eyes. After talking to the old town grump, he had seen things in a new light! He would save this town. If anyone could do it, he could. He cracked his knuckles, ready to start. First of all, he'd have to at least put all of his furniture back. That would be easy enough. But who to lynch? El seemed like a good choice. She'd been unusually quiet lately, and an apothecary would have plenty of opportunities to kill someone. Yes, that'd be a good place to start. Carmichael strode towards the center of town, to spread the word.
  10. Carmichael had decided it was time to leave town. Things were getting hectic, and he knew he couldn't stay here much longer. So, he had gathered his things, bought a cart, and was going to attempt to leave town as soon as possible. He had spent the last three nights quietly moving his things to a small cave just outside of town, and he was almost ready. He had also left a list of his notes in the hands of someone he trusted, in exchange for some small favors. And now, here he was, in the center of town. Annix was dead now, as well. He was running out of friends, and the people who remained were growing steadily more suspicious of him. When he was gone, he had made sure that people would find out who he was. It was all written down, somewhere nice and safe. He sighed. He'd miss this place. It held many memories, for him. But now, with the Koloss practically visible on the horizon, and the spiked growing more powerful every day, it was time to leave. Hefting a bag over his shoulder, Carmichael began to slowly walk out of town. Ok then. Carmichael's feelings express my own pretty thoroughly, so I'm not sure exactly what else to say. I think that my death will honestly do the village more good than anything else I can do. However, if a lynch on someone else does pick up, I'd be happy to lynch them instead of me, obviously. I do think that the village can still win, but we need a couple good lynches, and I'm honestly unsure what to do. A big group of people have gotten really quiet, myself included, so my analysis skills, weak as they are, can't really do anything. Personally, I'd like to lynch El, who I think has basically gone inactive, and I was also suspicious of, and who I'm curious of how she's survived this long. I'd also lynch almost anyone else, because I have so little to go on.
  11. Sorry guys, I was out all weekend again, and at this point, it might be best if you guys just lynch me. I'm not sure I have a lot to contribute, but I do think that I really want to know Assassin's alignment. If you decide I'm a better lynch target, so be it; The way things are going it might be for the best. Sorry again.
  12. Idk. Mostly, I felt like we were in trouble if you were bad, and I wasn't sure about your alignment, plus Drake had seemed pretty village when I talked to him, so I figured I'd play it safe and kill you/block Drake. Then we'd kill Drake next cycle.
  13. Well. I suppose I ought to apologize to you, Aman. Sorry. Glad that ended up working out, regardless of my failures. I think that went rather well. I'm on an upwards survival spiral.
  14. This type of behavior does not exactly inspire confidence in me as to your alignment.
  15. Well, here goes nothing. Sometimes, it hurt to be this right. It had been years ago, now, that he had proposed his idea. They had scoffed at him, calling him insane, superstitious, and at worst, a fraud. A miracle, they had called it. Surely the work of the Almighty. The less confident had said it was a work of fate. Some good fortune in a bad world. He snorted. He knew what had happened. And what had happened after... But now, now it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter that he whole debacle had ruined his reputation, and sent him into the worst time of his life. Because now... Now he was right. He was whole again, and he could do anything. Balthazar closed his eyes, trying to fix the memory, yes, this beautiful memory, in his mind. Ahhh... Balthazar walked up to the Highprince. It was rumored that he had Bonded the Stormfather itself. A Highprince, a Radiant, and the feared Blackthorn. What couldn’t this man do? Balthazar hesitated. What if he had been wrong? Could it be that, after all these years, he had lost what had always given him strength? He shuddered. He couldn’t bear living, knowing that he had been wrong. But, said a little voice in his head, could you live knowing you had never found out? Balthazar steeled himself. No, he couldn’t. Gathering his strength, Balthazar slowly climbed up the steps. Each step was a challenge, a fight against the fear that had gripped him. He shook his head. He couldn’t turn back now. He stood straight, and looked at the Blackthorn. He grimaced as he saw pity in those eyes. There had been a time when men like him would have seen strength in Balthazar, and kept their pity for others. But that time had passed, and in a way, it was why he was here. ‘Speak the words.’ Balthazar heard the Highprince say. ‘Life before death,’ Balthazar said. My life, before other’s deaths. Yes, that was easy. ‘Strength before Weakness.’ He continued. He smiled inside, despite his worries. Balthazar had always valued strength, in himself, and others. There was no place for cowards where he had walked. But, oh yes, this was the hard one. He breathed in. ‘Journey before Destination.’ Yes, he could put his impatience aside. The destination was not always the key. This was something he had learned since the fateful day. ‘Breathe in, and you shall be proven.’ The Highprince declared. Balthazar looked at him sharply. Where did he get the idea that Balthazar had something to prove? He shook himself. Of course, everyone here had something to prove. Balthazar stood, shakily, and breathed in. And then, everything was right. Balthazar opened his eyes. After that, everything had sped up. He had felt filled, for the first time in a long time. And now, he was walking away, to join the others. There would be more, the Blackthorn had told him. He would join them, and they would do great things. They would be Knights Radiant. And they would be strong. I do hope that was OK.
  16. Actually, I said that I had been right a few times. I don't think I'd ever be that arrogant. Saying I'm too good a villager is just odd. Nope. And Nope. I said it would be weird for an Elim to push the Dalinar lynch so hard. And then I said Hero's the only other person with anything going for them. Oh dear. I see that there was apparently a lot wrong with my list. He was incredibly active? I must have missed that. I think I said I didn't have a lot to say about Bugsy. I called Gamma a lurker? I think I said he'd been paying attention. Sorry 'bout that, Gamma. Looks like I had other things to say about Seonid. Perhaps I was only saying people looked like lurkers if I had not a lot else to say. Actually, I did say I was suspicious of El. I had just said I thought she was quiet another time. (El, actually, would be a person I'd lynch. She's inactive, and I'm suspicious of her still.) Really? I could have sworn Assassin had played more. Yeah, I'm going to agree with you on that. That's a little odd of me. I suppose I had noticed you're quietness more. You must stand out to me, Wilson! Aww. My list was poor. Sorry. Yeah. Inactivity is bad. I think I already have apologized for mine, and I will try to fix it. I'm sorry that you've lost interest in this game. I don't think the village has ever won an AG, which can be pretty disappointing for repeat villagers. If you want to kill me, you can. I'm not sure how much more I can add to the game by being alive, and I think that I'll actually be more beneficial to the village once I'm dead. It'll clarify my actions/voting patterns and stuff. I suppose I'll let you guys know I'm a smoker. I haven't really been using it since I don't know what to do with it. Do with that info what you will.
  17. The cycle is less than a page long. You could just make yourself a vote tally. -sigh- There's two votes on Assassin. And it's honestly the best lynch I see. Almost no one else has anything going for them, except you and Hero. Would you like to be lynched, HH? edit; -sigh- Here's your vote tally; Araris; Len, Assassin Assassin; Araris, Mage Manukos; Manukos, Wyrm Drought; HH Wyrm; Len That's more potential ties than I like, and the Manukos lynch makes no sense to me.
  18. Ok, honestly, I've been kinda suspicious of the way Assassin has been acting for a bit. With luck, I'll be able to say more about that later. For now, I'll say his posts have seemed a bit lacking, the tone felt odd, and his votes have seemed, while not necessarily bandwagon-y, like he was pushing odd lynches. I've felt that way about a few players in this game, but I'm most suspicious of Assassin. I'd also be willing to lynch HH or Hero.
  19. Yeah, I've been somewhat busy, and honestly haven't been putting as much time into this game as I should have been. I intended to make a post with my suspicions yesterday, but I ended up being out most of the day, and never got to it. Sorry guys. I'll try to be more active from now on. edit; Also, I could swear I was more active than Jones's chart indicates. -sigh- I think before I went inactive, I made it known that I would be going snowboarding and would be gone for a few cycles. (Which I was.) Admittedly, I didn't really ease back in when I got back like I wanted to. Still sorry about that.
  20. Joe Bond took out his Snoiper Roifle. He smoiled. He had roicently reseyeved information that the enemy were disgoising themselves as sheep, so he had added a shearing feature to his roifle, which was now a little heavier than he loiked. Still, he enjoy'd using Snoiper Roifles, so as long as he could get the job done with it, he’d be foine. He repositioned his roifle, and looked down from his perch on top of a buildin’. He smoiled again. A sheep was crossing the road. He took careful aim, and fired. Joe grinned. Not a single li'l sheep was gettin' past him.
  21. If the Elims only have Mistborns, and not a Lurcher, then they may have, knowing that they didn't have a Lurcher that cycle, not seen a problem with a Coinshot killing Dalinar. From their point of view, it would just have given them more time. It's rather far fetched, but it's possible. Or, you know, it could've just been bad villagering/bad eliming. Really. -sigh- I just can't escape suspicion, can I? So, currently, your reasons for suspecting me are that I'm making sense, being right, and my suspicions seem contrived. Ok, well, I can see the last one. I'm not super good at analysis. As far as Arinian goes, I'm not sure whether to trust him or not. I don't love all of the things he's done, but I think the backlash is a bit much. Whether he's good or not, I still think I'd like to vote on Nyali. If Nyali is good, well, I do want to lynch Joe. Not sure if that will go anywhere, though. It might be worth looking at Rae again too. And Wilson. And El, HH, and Hero. And practically everyone else. I kind of want to respond to more things, but I started writing this post this morning, and my brain is dead because I'm tired and snowboarding is bruising. Bleh. Carmichael knew how great he was. He had always been confident in his defensive abilities. He had a black belt in, well, pretty much all the things you could get a black belt in. He had even taken lessons from a retired Hazekiller, just to be on the safe side. But the way people were dying around here, even he was worried about his lifespan. Going extinct was not something he wanted to do anytime soon. It just seemed like a bad idea. And there was only so much you could do against a lynch mob. But today, he was feeling good. He had just won some money off a passing tradesman, and wanted to buy himself something to drink. He wasn't ever going back to that Cat bar. Carmichael shuddered. That had been a horrible experience. But there were several good bars around Tyrian Falls. But where to go?
  22. Carmichael looked down at his notes. Then he looked up at Nicki, who was now escaping over the roofs. Then he looked back at his noted. His eyes narrowed. He had been so certain. "You've got to be kidding me." He said, throwing his book down. "I spent all this time-" Carmichael started stomping on the book. He just -stomp- couldn't -stomp- believe -stomp- that Nicki -stomp- had Escaped! -kick- Carmichael sighed. He'd probably lose money over this. He was pretty sure he had bet with someone about Nicki... He couldn't remember. Ok. Well, that basically expresses my feelings. I don't really know what else to do. I'd suggest the Coinshot target someone tonight, but after Dalinar, I don't think we should waste any more lynches on Rae just yet. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the Elims are made up of Coinshots and Thugs, if it does turn out that there aren't any roleless. -sigh- Carmichael picked up the book, and looked at it one more time. Then he threw it over his shoulder. He was going to get to the bottom of this. Later, I hope I'll have time to respond to El. I really don't right now, and like I said earlier, my family is going snowboarding all week. I should have some time later though. What happened to those quote boxes?
  23. Sorry guys, I've been a little busy, and haven't really gotten around to posting. I probably won't get a lot less busy, either. My family is going snowboarding. My search didn't really turn up as much I'd have liked, and I feel pretty equal about both Nyali and Rae. Not sure about Wonko. Looking at how things are right now, I don't know if Rae is evil any more. Still, I do think she's more likely to be lynched, and my earlier suspicions of her remain. Plus, I'd like to minimize vote manip potential. Rae. I'd suggest that, if we have a coinshot, that they target either Joe, Nyali, or someone who's equally suspicious in their minds. Next cycle, if Rae's good, then I would suggest Joe or Nyali for the lynch, in about that order. I am in favor of the idea that the Elims have multiple Mistborn. I think they may have had two or three, and then several role-less. Not sure if role-less are a thing, but I would assume it's something like that.
  24. I'm... not sure. I'm not sure why I said that. Huh. I suppose either she was smoked, an Elim Vote Manip forced her vote onto Orlok, or no other Vote Manip did anything.
