  1. Granted. Teachers and Freelance graphic artists are now paid as much as IT guys. Bane: You will work as neither. You will instead be a Janitor at a local school. FOREVER! I wish to have exceptional Acrobatic/Martial arts skills.
  2. When you spend your free time reading EVERY SINGLE PAGE of; "You know youre a sanderfan when part 2".
  3. Melaan might be the kandra worldhopper. We do not know. There is a quote for that... NEWANIs the kandra worldhopper MeLaan?BRANDON SANDERSON (PARAPHRASED) Good question. *gives Newan a RAFO card* In upcoming Mistborn books, you are going to get to know a lot more of the kandra, so you will have a lot more options. NEWANOoh. When the kandra worldhopper is off-world, er off-Scadrial, does she take the form of a human female? BRANDON SANDERSON (PARAPHRASED)Not all of the time. NEWANHas she spoken a word of dialogue in a non-Mistborn book? BRANDON SANDERSON (PARAPHRASED)I can't remember. Also note that here, Brandon does not reject the idea that the Kandra worldhopper is female. It is even implied. However, I cannot find a WoB stating that it certainly is. Only the Terris worldhopper is definitely female. Also, there might be more than one Kandra worldhopper. Felt Oh, and Felt gets a mention here. I don’t know if you remember him from book one, but he was the spy who Elend sent to tail Vin one night and figure out who she truly was. He was loyal to house Venture, and Elend inherited Felt from his father when Straff fled Luthadel and left behind most of his servants and men. A third son of a very minor nobleman, Felt is used to working for a living—something that does happen to a lot of nobility in this world, even if the ones you see most of the time are either too busy ruling, stealing, or going to war to bother with things like that. Felts background must be fake here, because he is on Roshar, right? And SA 5 is placed more than 300 years before Wax and Wayne? So therefore, to be there, this background must be fake/false/wrong.
  4. I believe that the original question was how well would Shardplate stand up to bullets. There are a few other questions you have to ask to make this question valid. 1) Shardplate is made out of Spren. (Supposedly.) So, what is a comparable as far as density/durability/hardness goes? (I understand that there would have to be a different comparison for each thing.) 2) What kind of bullets? From What kind of Gun? 3) Finally, how does shard plate react to things of that speed hitting it? We have rarely seen anything nearly as fast as a bullet hitting shard plate. Would it absorb the impact, or, due to its lightness, send the wearer flying? Another interesting question, which is a bit off topic; Is shardplate magnetic? Because then a coinshot would totally have an advantage.
  5. So, if one was to somehow collect those Aons, take the Aons for themselves, you could take up the power of Devotion. That is what I am getting here. Thanks for Answering my question!
  6. So, through the Hoed pool, one could become the Vessel of Devotion? Could one also become a shard by retrieving splinters? (I believe I read somewhere that the Aons inside of Seons where splinters of Dominion. )
  7. Can you become a Vessel for a shard that has been Splintered? On the same note, are there shard pools for splintered Shards? (Is the Hoed Pool a shardpool?
  8. I am pretty certain that you can enter the Cognitive realm without a perpendicularity. It has something to do with how much "weight/pull" you have on the other realms. Shards are very powerful, and they exist on all three plains. This gives them a lot of pull. Sort of like how Einsteins theory of relativity states that massive objects warp space-time, I am saying that massive amounts of power can put a "dent" in the realms. This makes it easier to transverse them safely. This would explain, to some extent, how Kelsier disrupted the pits of Hathsin. He blew up a lot of Atium geodes, releasing a lot of power. The power release lessened the "pull". The massive disruption lessened the "stability". It would also explain how people with enough power/knowledge, I.E Hoid, Jasnah, etc. can "dent" the realms, letting themselves slip through the layers. An "unstable" junction would mean that the layers are a lot less distinct, easy to reach, etc. Probably because of a power flow/disruption. This would explain why it is more difficult to get through them.
  9. It is odd. I wonder how Brandon would explain it.
  10. If I recall correctly, doesn't her Spren call her into Shadesmar on its own? Spren are slivers, however, so they do theoretically have the power to do things shards can do, on a smaller scale. This also means that Perpendicularities are neither the only way of traveling to the cognitive realm, nor are they permanent.
  11. On Roshar, you can enter Shadesmar(or the Cognitive Realm) with just some Stormlight. So are we saying that, 1) With storm light, you can enter the cognitive realm on any planet. 2) It is a particular quirk of magic/shard power on Roshar. 3) We are saying that Stormlight is as powerful as a Shardpool. If 1 is true, that explains how Hoid gets around, he does not need a shardpool, he has just been to Roshar and Collected some stormlight. If 2 is true, then all is as it is now. If 3 is true, than we have problems. Edit: Just read Asterions post. If that is true, and Stormlight is a representation of one of Roshars Shards powers, this all makes sense again. It also means that Stormlight may be proximity dependent on Roshar's Shards.
  12. Nightblood has 1000 breaths. I do not know if it can act as a perpindicularity, as it has not done so in any books. (Yet.) However, in WoR, we see what is almost definitely Nighblood being handed to Szeth. This could mean thatit was used to get to Roshar, or it could just mean that it was brought there. Also, as a comparitor, if it takes more than 1000 breaths to enter the Cognitive realm, and Jasnah/Shallan both did it with a very small amount of Stormlight, that means that Stormlight is vastly more powerful than Breaths. (It would also men that it is REALLY easy to make Nightbloods on Roshar? Or just explain Shardblades. I might be way off base here.)
  13. It did. But I think that Chromium is not so much a metal that is not helpful for any combo, but that it provides a similar effect for each combo. In that sense, it is sort of a wild card. Like this: I think a better way of looking at it is that it is equally benificial, not less useful. It is distinct, but it does mix well with others. It just does not have a noticible effect. I remember hearing that two metals have there individual powers, and a "effect". It makes me wonder, with a power so spanning as chromium, how are there unique effects for every combo it is in. Luck effects all powers equally.
  14. -bows- The two abilities work separately? I understand that there powers do not compound. I believe I understand what you mean, that the abilities do not work within the same boundaries? But I think that if you tapped luck while you were trying to hit something, it would make it more likely that you could hit it? Even if I am wrong about that, Pewter/Chromium would allow you to be luckier in combat, and stronger/agiler in combat. Unless I am missing something fundamental about how this works. I do not pretend to understand how you "store" luck. It does not make any sense, unless you allow luck to just be... Luck.
  15. This would still likely only work on planets with shards, as they (typically) power magic/investiture? There are also supposedly more natural ways to power investiture, but I have not been able to find any definitive explanations on how.
  16. This was apparently not as big a question as I had thought... Does this mean that Hoid got to Scadrial through the pits of hathsin? He could not have done it through the Well of Ascension, because in the context of the book, he was looking for that. (Also, if he was traveling through the Cognitive realm, how could he NOT find the well of ascension?)
  17. Sadly, I have not. I read the spoiler anyway. You say these things exist on those two worlds. Do they exist on any others? Also, does anyone know if there are any other ways to get around I missed?
  18. Right now, as far as I have found, we know that there are several world-hoppers. So I was wondering how they get around. I have not found anywhere on the forums where this topic is discussed, so I decided it would be best if I made one. As I see it, there are about four ways that World-Hoppers could be getting around. The first would be some manner of FTL. I have seen this theory put out there, however I have yet to see any world with a way of making that happen. Also, Hoid’s travel seems to be instantaneous. The second would be some sort of world-gate. This theory implies that each world has a way of getting to it, from every other world. I do not know how likely this is. In WoR there are Oathgates, which allow anyone on Roshar to get to Urithiru. I see no reason why these could not reach across solar systems, if powered by enough Stormlight. However, how one would even find the planets to put them on is beyond me. And the third theory that I have is that the teleportation is connected to shards. On every world that there is a shard, there is a means of getting there. Maybe the shards have enough power to move people? Can you hijack a shards power enough to do this? This theory has more questions then answers. My final theory is that it is all wrapped around Hoid. This means we are back to square one. Hoid is still doing stuff we have no idea how he is doing, and other people are just riding his coattails. I would love to hear any theories I have missed, as well as any ideas on the theories I have put forth. This is my first topic, so feel free to correct my mistakes, and shatter my fragile ego.
  19. Now that I have read all 20 pages of this topic, I feel ready to make an addition to it! I believe there exists a Twinborn combo not yet talked about on this topic. A Pewter/Chromium combo. Imagine, not only being able to tap luck, and instantly hit what you are aiming for, but also having the strength to back it up. Practically all your hits would be instant KO's! This would be an excellent Mercenary Twinborn.
