He's trying to engineer it so someone from his faction doesn't die while he learns tons of information about what faction everyone is a part of.

Well, I was trying to push for a solid vote on someone, not this tying stuff. I wasn't trying to instill chaos, I was trying to make it clear who we were lynching so soothers can't control the vote. I don't see that as chaotic. Chaos is entropy - everything becoming the same. <.< EDIT: Guys, stop trying to get me spiked D:
-
That's why I stopped and put my vote on Aman, the source of the chaos. Anyone want to join me?
-
(EDIT: Stink's vote is invalid - there is no player or character named "Ada")
-
But there won't be a tie, unless two soothers cancel each other.
-
By the way, everyone keep in mind that if there's a soother out there (or Mistborn that choose Brass on N0), they can change someone's vote. So, this "tie" is a farce - the soothers are trying to manipulate it so they can choose the person who dies. My guess is that Aman is a soother, since this has been his plan from the start. EDIT: Actually, I'm kinda sick of this tying thing. It makes me feel disenfranchised. Everyone who agrees, vote for [ Aman ] with me. (and, for now, [ Kipper ])
-
Disrupting ties appears to make everyone scramble. and [ Maill ] and [ Kipper ]. EDIT: Err, let me try those colors again.
-
I meant, between you and PK, I think you're a little more likely to have been spiked. It seems the choice will be between one of you two.
-
Except now it's NOT a tie
-
Oh, well, my second point still stands.
-
Well, while I still don't trust [ Joe ], I think I'll move my vote to one of the two final candidates instead of the runner up. So, [ Maill ], for the same reason I was voting for Joe. People referred to as "chaotic" are not the sort I want to leave around. Also, Maill is a great and highly active player, and I can totally see him getting Spiked on Night 0.
-
I think most of us are assuming that the Inquisitor started with a Steel spike. I honestly can't imagine them not starting with one. It gives the eliminators an every other turn faction kill, and one that works within the same framework as the other players with night kills, making it harder to spot.
-
I'd like to randomly note that half of the current eliminators were not eliminators last cycle. As in, there are now two. So, take impressions from last cycle as far as the Spiked go with a grain of atium. I still stand by my vote on Joe. Joe said his "metagoal" was to leave each house with only one person left in it before the game ended. That's literally the goal of the Spiked, which will likely include one person from each house by Day 3.
-
... I can't see Joe's hidden white text in his post as anything other than suspicious. Maybe he was just joking, but I think I'll go with [ Joe ] anyway for now until a better target presents itself.

Why would that annoy me? I requested that people not claim in their faction doc about being coinshots. True claiming Coinshot here is just asking to be killed by an enemy coinshot because either you get spiked and are a spiked and need to die, or you are the faction kill of a hostile faction and killing you removes your faction's ability to kill outside of Koloss.

Well, sure, but the strategies Aman suggested for confirming someone's role have the same problem. Also, in a Conversion game, negative scans aren't very meaningful, but those aren't what you're fishing for. You're fishing for positive scans, and those are VERY meaningful. So, if you scan someone and they're not spiked, well, maybe they are and maybe they aren't. They could have been spiked that round (it comes later than scanning in the order of actions), or they could have been behind a coppercloud. But, if you scan someone and they ARE spiked, well, then they're definitely spiked.

Requesting vials is free. Everyone who can use at least one metal gets exactly one vial and has to choose which, but it does not take an action to do so. Actually obtaining the requested vial happens at the very end of the Order of Actions, so you can't use a vial on the turn you receive it. So, if you were a Steel Misting, Aman's list shows what would happen. If you were then Spiked with Tin, then you could do: N0: Obtain Steel Vial N1: Burn Steel, Obtain Steel Vial N2: Obtain Steel Vial N3: Obtain Steel Vial N4: Obtain Tin Vial N5: Burn Tin, Flare Steel, Obtain Steel Vial For a Mistborn, they can't get the same vial twice, so for them it'd look like: N0: Obtain Steel Vial N1: Burn Steel, Obtain Iron Vial N2: Burn Iron, Obtain Tin Vial N3: Obtain Pewter Vial N4: Obtain Duralumin Vial N5: Burn Tin, Burn Pewter+Burn Duralumin=Flare Pewter, Obtain Zinc Vial For an Inquisitor, they work like a Mistborn, but can only choose metals they have spikes for and CAN choose the same one as many times as they want: Example Spikes: Steel, Iron, Tin, Pewter, Copper N0: Spike Iron, Obtain Steel Vial N1: Spike Copper, Obtain Steel Vial N2: Flare Steel, Spike Steel, Obtain Pewter Vial N3: Obtain Pewter Vial N4: Flare Pewter, Spike Tin, Obtain Pewter Vial N5: Obtain Pewter Vial

Aman, remember that Seekers get told if their target is Spiked, so if your faction happens to have a Seeker, the Seeker can test other members of your faction to check if any are Spiked. But, if the Seeker claims and is Spiked themself, well, then you have a problem.
-
Fair points, Aman. I think the idea of only killing on even nights makes sense. And yes, I was writing that post when you posted, so I didn't see yours before doing so. I dunno about the killing inactives thing though. That just tells people who to protect with Iron if their faction has a Lurcher.

For the love of Harmony, please do NOT roleclaim to your faction if you are a Coin-shot! Please, please, please don't do this! Coinshots are the strongest role in this game, since they're the only ones who can vig kill multiple times, and they can do it every other turn. Normally, you'd expect Mistborn to be stronger, but since they can only get one vial of each metal per game, they can only kill once per game (Duralumin + Steel). Even if their faction gets lucky and steals a steel shipment, the Mistborn would need to get two that way in order to kill a second time. That's a lot of once per games. But, if you're Mistborn, ALSO please do not roleclaim to your faction, because if the Inquisitor spikes a Mistborn with Steel, that Mistborn gains the power to vig kill every night. We cannot let Coinshots get spiked (or Mistborn spiked with Steel), since every coinshot to get spiked (or Mistborn spiked with Steel) is another half night kill the eliminators have. That'll get out of hand FAST, especially if each faction gets a coinshot and the Inquisitor manages to hit all four AND hit a Mistborn with Steel. That'd give the eliminators three night kills every night. So, please, please, roleclaim responsibly! And by that, I mean, don't roleclaim. Discuss hypotheticals with your faction instead, like what each role should do if it happens to exist in your faction.

Except that's not how Returning works. People don't Return to do what Endowment wants, people Return to change the future in a way that they wish to change it, usually to fulfill a personal goal (like Calmseeker saving her relative from the same disease that killed her when she comes down with it later in life). Sure, some people Returned to prevent a giant war, but that wasn't at Endowment's request. They're just people who died, saw tragedy in the future, decided they wanted to do something about it, and Endowment offered to give them the power to change it.

The suffix "-phobia" has two modern usages. One is to refer to a psychological condition where someone is irrationally afraid of a specific stimulus, usually in a powerful manner. The other usage is social, rather than psychological, referring to bias or prejudice aimed at a specific class of people intended to denigrate, deride, or demonize that entire class. Islam itself is a religion with a lot of peace and love in its teachings, just like all other Judaeo-Christian religions. In fact, it has a heck of a lot in common with both Judaism and Christianity. However, just like those other religions, Christianity in particular, there are people who twist it into something that it isn't, something that justifies their hatred of other people and their militant actions taken against people who believe differently. There are very strong parallels, in my opinion, between the conflict fought by people in ISIS who call themselves Muslims and the conflict fought by people who called themselves Christians during the Crusades. The Crusades were just as bad, if not worse, than what the Western World faces today from ISIS, only that was before mass media, and the ancestors of most people who speak English were on the side of terror back then, so we don't talk about it much these days. My pet peeve: People who legitimize those who twist a religion to mean the exact opposite of its teachings by referring to them as members of that religion. It's why the current administration of the US avoids calling terrorists Muslims - they are acting directly against the teachings of Islam, and legitimizing them gives them power and alienates actual Muslims. Oh, and while I'm at it, another pet peeve: Getting mailed hate-filled anti-LGBT propaganda from GoP SuperPACs just because I'm listed as an Independent There was some in the mail this morning that said I shouldn't be using public restrooms because it's perverted for me to go to the bathroom All this "we want women to use the men's room" stuff makes me wonder why exactly the far right wants women, especially teenagers, to be trapped in the men's room... but then I recall the link between the Religious Right in the US and pedophiles, and suddenly it all makes disturbing sense. Thank Harmony I live in a state with sensible public sanitation laws, even if some pedophiles are trying to overturn them!

I could be totally wrong, but my take on it is that you don't need "breath" to Return, you just need some innate Investiture that Endowment can use to fuel the transfer of a Splinter from her to your spiritweb. Drabs have no innate investiture, and nor does someone who died from giving up all of their Breath (a Returned who gives away their Divine Breath dies as a drab, so if Drabs can't Return, then Returned who use up their Breath definitely can't Re-Return). But, Scadrialans all have a piece of Preservation in them, and Rosharans are permeated with tiny little bits of Investiture from all the highstorms, and Threndites have to have something going on for them to be able to be transformed into Cognitive Shadows so easily, and I think Selish people have strong enough Connection to their country that it allows investiture to flow from the Dor to them naturally. Though, I do still stand by my idea that Endowment wouldn't Re-Return a dead Returned even if she could, because that's getting into the "why doesn't Endowment just go down to Nalthis and do everything herself" situation. If a Shard doesn't want mortals to have free will, the Shard would just do everything themselves as far as they could. Free will requires a Shard to only interfere in small, clearly defined ways within specific limits. And if Endowment is all about giving people the power to change the future and choose their own fate and so on, giving them infinite lives to accomplish it removes all meaning from that gift. At that point, it becomes not a gift, but an ultimatum. But, again, this is just how I see it. I could see arguments to support Endowment under very specific circumstances wanting to Re-Return a Returned...

Well, since it's sounding like there's no plans to actually change or hide rep, here's the uBlock code for blocking the reputation ranks from appearing: ##.ipsColumn_medium.ipsColumn.cAuthorPane.ipsComment_author > .ipsType_break.ipsType_blendLinks.cAuthorPane_author.ipsType_sectionHead > .ipsResponsive_inline.ipsResponsive_showPhone > .ipsRepBadge_positive.ipsRepBadge Doesn't help new visitors and still makes me look like I support things I don't, but whatever, at least I don't have to see it anymore xD EDIT: The above is only for the mobile version (when you shrink the screen enough and the site becomes usable and pretty again). If you're using the full browser version with the enormous and garish logo up top, try this to hide all rep ranks: ##.ipsColumn_medium.ipsColumn.cAuthorPane.ipsComment_author > .ipsList_reset.cAuthorPane_info > .ipsResponsive_hidePhone:nth-of-type(3) > .ipsRepBadge_positive.ipsRepBadge
