  1. I believe it's adding a force in the direction of the lashing, which is why a half-lashing upwards makes you weightless rather than moving you upwards at half the speed.
  2. Have you tried playing with each others' decks? When I play with friends we're usually all using my decks, so we always switch around who's using which deck so we can all try the different playstyles. Also, does anyone here play online, either MtG:O or elsewise?
  3. In an effort to seem useful, I've gone over all of Arraenae's posts and I'm gonna post a summary and some thoughts now. If you were wondering Arraenae, I picked you because you didn't seem to be posting a lot and I had a gut feeling of suspicion that I wanted to check. I'll do it for more people over the course of the game. Post Summary: After looking through all the posts, it seems like my earlier suspicion was misplaced to some extent. She's made some decent suggestions all about reducing the number of casualties we take, which points against her being an eliminator. She hasn't made a remarkable amount of discussion about who to lynch, however, as her reasoning for voting both DC and Joe was pretty small, if relevant, and she didn't engage in much discussion of lynching them else wise either. That all being said, I don't think there's enough there to put her on my suspicion list, but not on my trust list either.
  4. Personally? I went to sleep Anyway, the contents of my PM with Lopen was us discussing my motivations for wanting to know who L was (which he then judged to be fair enough), and his worries on myself and Joe accidentally closing down the number of people who could be L, followed by a list of people he thinks is L. Did he give this list to anyone else?
  5. Yo all. I've played a fair bit of magic, but nothing in a while, mainly due to having no one to play with.
  6. Yeah, I was actually talking in the BoM impressions thread about the pronunciations of Kelsier The thing that intruiged me is that the Southern Scadrians have a North Germanic base (as far as I can tell), but so do the Fjorden (it seems) - so I want to compare the two.
  7. I was planning on going through the books and build up some corpora and compare them.
  8. Has anyone gone through and looked at the relations between the different languages of the Cosmere? Because if not, I think I might make that my next project.
  9. Just to note, I have been contacted by someone claiming to be L. I'm currently confirming with Joe if its the same person who contacted him, and I would definitely like to work with them, this would just be for extra clarification. I have a few ideas that would need L's cooperation that I think could possibly help the village. You make a good point about L needing to trust someone they haven't scanned - that's something I hadn't considered. L, only do this if you're comfortable with that risk. Now, with that out the way, if we have two people both state that Joe is innocent based on L's word, then it's impossible by the game rules for all 3 of us to be lying about our innocence. Only two people max can be eliminators, so at least one of us would have to genuinely believe that Joe is innocent. Thus, if all three of us claim Joe to be innocent, then we know that at least one of us is trustworthy, even if we don't know which on in particular. The problem with this, of course, is if both Joe and the person claiming to be L are the eliminators, but I'm hoping the process I proposed will give us at least a reasonable amount of trustability to the L-claimant. Everything I just said seems very convoluted - I apologise, I should really be getting some sleep. Ah, thanks!
  10. Regarding Joe's plan, L can check Joe's innocence, so we can trust him based on that. We should probably set up a way of checking whether L has actually verified Joe's innocence however. L, could you please contact someone randomly. First confirm they have no contact with me - if they do, choose someone else - then ask them to send a random code word of your choosing to me. I can use this to check some things out which will help me verify your identity. Then, myself and this other person should be able to confirm whether or not Joe is innocent to everyone else. Regarding trusting the murderers, it isn't vital, as we can lynch Joe if the murderers don't do as intended. Regarding first day lynches, I believe I remember you saying this in LG20, and I'm tempted to agree with the people there - that the discussion is highly valuable, even if we do lynch a noble village (Harmony Above, Mailliw, I feel like that's going to be stuck in my psyche now). On that note, based on the last three pages of discussion, does anyone have any suspicions, even minor ones, that we can look into further. EDIT: RP (btw, how do I do those fancy post breaks?) ---- "I wonder if you have anything on me..." Kai chuckled to himself, and sat back up, his back damp from the grass, "I've always wanted to know how famous I am."
  11. "This is all terribly interesting," Kai mused, "I believe you underestimate M's usefulness in your own investigations, my friend. You also seem to underestimate the power he has over you at the current time. I don't really see any downsides to actually working with M. Just prove your usefulness and hopefully try to stay out of any compromising situations. Who knows, maybe someone here might be able to get those records off him." He flicked his stick of metal into the air and let it drop against his face, the tip just off the edge of his eye.
  12. This still has the issue of one person having all of the names and roles, which would then be easily gained by Ryuk by giving the person the death note. The only way this would work is if we had a confirmed police officer take the names and then give them to L.
  13. Another thing. Even if Joe us a civilian as he claims, it's possible for Ryuk to kill the current holder after Joe finds out the names of the police and murderers, and then take Joe as a holder. The shifting nature of the holder means having any one person who has all the information is incredibly dangerous, especially if everyone knows who this person is.
  14. Joe, I don't think I like your plan. First, how can we be sure you've gained the trust of L at all. It wouldn't be too hard for you to claim so, and for L to claim the contrary, they would have to reveal themselves to at least one person, and if they'd used their detect on you, they're not going to know who's trustworthy. Also, yes, you would die, but we know that Ryuk can get a new Death Note Holder each time someone dies. You could get the names of everyone, pass them onto Ryuk, die, and then have the eliminator team systematically take out all of our useful role players. The fact that Ryuk can replace the holder makes the holder effectively disposable, and a plan like this would certainly make use of it. Lastly, it would require the rest of us to simply trust you, when this plan is your first post, and you've given us no other reason to trust you. I, personally, don't like that. Alv, two rules questions. First, can a Shinigami/holder change the death note holder freely? Second, is killing L the win condition for the elimknators, or do they have to kill L and outnumber everyone else.
  15. “What's the fun of paper anyway?” Kai mused aloud, twirling a stainless steel stick around his fingers, making complex patterns that only those with the utmost concentration would be able to see. “M already knows everything we do. He knows everything we say. There's no reason not to suspect there's a mole in this very group. It could be any of us, it could even be you yourself, err,” Kai paused for a second, bringing his stick up and over his eye, then down his nose and stabbing it in above his lip. He licked up the blood intently. “I'm very sorry, but I seem to have forgotten your name. Regardless, it's possible even that I am the mole, though I make no confessions. Not here at least.” He winked at Joseph. He then lay back down on the damp grass, his legs in their usual position, with one under the arched other. He felt the light rain patter against his face, and a small drop of black rolled down his face. Unfortunate, that had taken him a while. “I say,” he continued, “we let know M know what we do, instead of trying to hide it. It would be much more interesting seeing how he reacts to it. Now that would be entertaining indeed.” He paused for a moment, and then said, “and in regards to Kira, I hope he is. What better person to talk to about secrecy and hiding.”
  16. Kai lifted his head up and listened less closely to the faint noises of anger coming from below. The man seemed to be smashing something, what it actually was was irrelevant to Kai at this particular moment. The message that had sounded out had been amusing, though Kai had had to lie cheek to the floor to be able to hear it from the room below. Having few electronics in the room was very useful very often, but in times like this, he really wished he did have some form of getting information - this M character seemed interesting to say the least. Perhaps Kai could contact him, the job proposed did sound promising. Kai wondered if M would have use for his particular skills. He put one knee up and tucked the other leg under it and began to scrape a thin stick of stainless steel down his cheek, drawing faint patterns that stayed for a few seconds and then faded. He moved it lower down his face, then stabbed it in above his lip. A small drop of blood rolled down and into his mouth, and he licked his lips, getting rid of the reddish trail. This had always helped him think, though he had no idea when he'd started doing it. Most likely when he was a teenager, that would be an ideal time for such a habit to begin. Yes, likely so. Kai cleared his thoughts - even if this habit did help him think, it didn't mean he wouldn't go on any tangents at all - and began to mull over M's offer. Despite not being directed at Kai himself, Kai had no doubts over whether M would appreciate his aid. Such a man would always appreciate someone talented at breaking and entering, surely. Kai was, however, disappointed at the lack of a heist, for which he'd been planning on offering his services - though obviously not quickly enough - but the opportunity to work with such an intriguing man was one Kai would not miss out. He did want to see what the others would do, however. Kai stood and walked over to his small table and scribbled out a short note on a pad of paper he kept there - he always kept a notepad on the desk in a room, at an angle of 17 degrees (with an error margin of 0.2 degrees) from the left side (he usually used this pad only when writing standing up, as he was now), pivoted from the bottom left corner on both the pad and the desk. He finished writing and then placed the the pen back in its proper position, diagonally from top left to bottom right across the pad. Then he sat back down again. And waited. The door closed in the room below, and Kai stood up, descending the staircase, and then opened the door with the spare key he'd swiped earlier. The broken TV sat at the side of the room, and inside Kai saw the small recorder. He smiled. He walked over to it, crouched down, and winked at the recorder, before placing his note down. Then he walked outside and out of the building, trailing the man through the city. ---- The camera auto-focused on the note left; "My dear M, What a pleasure it was to hear your little message earlier, my friend. I am truly seriously considering your offer, though I do have a little more information to gather before making any certain decisions. I hope you can excuse my indecisiveness in this matter, but hopefully you can understand my doubts. On a side note, if you have any surveillance in my room, please care to tell me where. I do like to put on the best show I can, especially for one as special as yourself. Regards, with love, Akato Tsugara" ------------------------------------------------- I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in on this a bit late. I was going to reply earlier, but I got caught up hiking for the past three days and unfortunately missed a lot of the drama. In addition, Joe, if your character doesn't go to the field today or whatever, I can adjust my post, just give me a shout.
