    Roshar's Sun

Is there any information on the sun of Roshar? I'm running some calculations and I need either Roshar's semi-major axis or the sun's mass. The map in AU gives me the idea that it's a class B or O star, but that only means that the mass is more then 2.1 solar masses, nothing else. EDIT: Seeing the size of taldain's larger sun in AU I'm guessing that Roshar's sun is a class B star, probably a smaller one. Also comparing the sizes between the other stars I'm guessing it's around 3 or 4 solar masses. EDIT 2: Seeing that the light of Sel's sun and scandrial's sun seem to be around class F and G, which puts them between 0.8 and 1.4 solar masses. comparing the sizes of the stars afterwards in the maps it seems to put Roshar's sun around 3 solar masses.
  2. A Cookieborn RP sound fun, and that fanfic would be delicious.
  3. "Return on my call." Throw your sword at people and get it back by calling it, basically a Shard Boomerang. Although it possibly will cut off your arm if you catch it wrong.
  4. It's because he's a returned, by changing how he views himself he should be able to change how he looks, which is basically a conscious version of the reason all the returned look like gods.
  5. There isn't, this is probably because there aren't any short stories that take place on Nalthis.
  6. I thought a Skybreaker.
  7. Door-stopper deluxe. Seriously, actually sending that to someone would be torture for the people who work at the mail-services.
  8. Also, changing it now would be even worse because it creates a giant inconsistency in the story, which is a lot worse for immersion. Perhaps that when she get more in contact with other radiants she will be calling it differently, right now the only one who can tell her about it is Wyndle, whom she doesn't listen to.
  9. Agreed http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/prehistory Prehistory means the period in time before writing was invented, it doesn't mean the period before humans existed.
  10. My idea was that immortality could be achieved by using a variation on the Connection trick used by the people in So-Scandrial, but instead of changing in their Spiritweb where they were born, they change when they were born. I think that this was what Brandon Sanderson was hinting at when he said that TLR aged so quickly because his Spiritweb tried to push his age to the age recorded there. In reverse, this should mean that if the age recorded in the Spiritweb was changed, to 20 years for example, the Spiritweb should push for the physical to change as well. This doesn't really conflict with your theory, but it does create a different possible technique for achieving immortality. Even more interesting is that because you are dealing with the Spiritweb, I think that it should be possible to use Hemalurgy in such a way as to steal someone's connection to a time and place of birth and use that to make yourself young again, and if you're moving to a different country you can use it to speak the local language. This even makes it a form of immortality that anybody in the Cosmere can achieve, as long as they don't have high moral standards.
  11. I don't know, I get the idea that it would be the same as trying to get your sailboat to go forward by blowing in the sail using a leaf-blower, the forces would cancel each other out and you would just be wasting metal.
  12. We know that it is possible for steel and iron savants to push/pull on parts of a metal object that aren't the center of mass. The origin of the push is normally the Allomancer's center of mass. Would it be possible for a savant to also change the origin of the push to a different part of the body? This could make for an interesting Allomancer martial arts style using metal weapons.
  13. Maybe you could use Adhesion in reverse? To make objects that are together to come apart? I'm guessing that, based on the force objects are kept together, you could propel objects at fairly high speeds this way. TL-DR: Reverse Adhesion gun.
  14. Wasn't Breath end-neutral? Because the Breath is coming from the Awakener, not from an outside source?
  15. I was thinking about applying physical transformations on victims, and use that for some really weird stuff. Although, now that I think about it it is a bit dark. You could transform yourself into a religious figure however, and devise some really funny precepts for the religion.
  16. Precision transformation Aons for shapeshifting? You could do some really scary tricks, although I would guess that it would be painful.
  17. I'm not sure about the others, but Song of Secrets has actual lyrics and is based around the Parshendi Song of Secrets in the epigraphs. Edit: Shallan's Song also has lyrics, Kaladin Remembers doesn't.
  18. @Tharatariel10 Did a few of these, like I myself have been working on a concept with Highstorms, but I haven't done anything on it for about 4 months.
  19. It's a reference to the fact that Returned always look like their idea of what they should look like, so mostly extremely handsome and/or beautiful.
  20. If someone with access to the Surge of Transformation and Feruchemical zinc switched their focus into the Cognitive Realm, would their Feruchemical zinc act the same as Feruchemical steel?
  21. Are you a returned, because you sure look like it.
  22. Well, now we know were Silverlight is I think. Edit: Never mind, I was just misreading it, they didn't tell.

    Cosmere Symbol

My own idea is that it revers to the default explanation for how the three realms work using the sunlight analogy. Sunlight shines from the Spiritual Realm through the screen of the Cognitive Realm, and falls onto the surface of the Physical Realm (not sure if the original explanation was exactly the same, I don't know where to find it).

    Cosmere Planets

The Roshar stuff is fairly common knowledge (the moons are the three sisters), The year and gravity stuff comes from a WoB, maybe someone else can find them, I'm rubbish at that. The information for the other planets comes from the statement from Brandon Sanderson that they were designed as earth-like planets, which means that the gravity and orbital period should roughly be the same and this means that unless the composition of the planet is different the size should also be roughly the same (Scandrial could be smaller than earth, because of the high amount of metal in the planet.

    Cosmere Planets

We aren't sure about the locations of the planets in relation to each other, but I can answer some of the other questions (not much). Roshar is IIRC smaller then earth, and has a lower gravity. It also has three moons, and it's orbit around the sun takes around 1.1 earth years. Scandrial, Nalthis and Sel should be around the same size as earth, and their orbital periods should be roughly the same as earth's, I don't know about moons.
