  1. We don't know how special that coin was. It could very well have been one of a kind. I don't think it was, but I think it's too early to say it's confirmed.
  2. Probably not this, since compounding amplifies the tapping effect (in this case retrieving of memories), rather than the storing one. But yeah, there have been theories about copper compounding being used to copy memories in some way.
  3. My theory on this is that a "Lashing" isn't necessarily a built-in unit within the magic system, but rather a very natural unit for both the Surgebinder and Reader to think in. I'm not sure if that holds up completely, because as Yata mentioned, what you're doing is changing your Connection to the planet. I still like that way of thinking though, so I dunno.
  4. I've played a lot of Rogue Legacy in the last few days. It's fun, but I'm also very bad at it... I can barely get the first bonus boss (where you are set to level 0 and all that) down to like 2/3 health... I also started a playthrough of Final Fantasy X where I'm taking all the characters through the wrong paths (Yuna is going through Tidus' path and vice versa, etc). Surprisingly, I'm slightly underpowered. Who knew?
  5. Not all of them. Some were actually the real children of the previous God King - that is why the priests were so intent on Siri getting pregnant quickly. I think that's in the Warbreaker annotations. Susebron's mother was probably his biological mother, and the previous God King and his wife lived out their lives on a secluded island (iirc). I'll see if I can find the right annotations. Edit: Here: http://brandonsanderson.com/annotation-warbreaker-chapter-forty-four/ http://brandonsanderson.com/annotation-warbreaker-chapter-fifty-five/
  6. I think so. I'm not sure if she wants to go join the Radiants at Urithiru, but her spren might convince her once she realizes a Desolation is coming. Even more likely to happen now that Nale won't hunt Surgebinders anymore.
  7. How does Soulcasting into fire work, since fire is a chemical process rather than an actual thing? Is the object changed into fuel and oxygen that react immediately? Is the object just the same, except set on fire? On that note, can you decide the temperature of something you Soulcast?
  8. The new year has arrived here. Spoiler alert: it's like 2016, but louder.
  9. @Belzedar, careful with the spoilers. This is the Stormlight subforum, so all spoilers for other book series have to be hidden with spoiler tags.
  10. Yeah, but that could have just been the illustrator painting the scarriest thing they knew of. But maybe not. We've already seen Thunderclasts (voidspren animating rock, in some way), and whatever those things Dalinar fought in his vision. They could possibly also fall under the Voidbringer category.
  11. haaaang on a minute! In Shinovar's case, I think they are deliberate, yes, but as a way of showing us that Shinovar is different, because it has all these species we think of as "normal". It may also be a clue to some connection to other planets (like Yolen) within the Cosmere. But not Earth.

    Time travel?

Yes, there is a lower bound to how much you can store, which limits how fast the Feruchemical charge is accumulated. Like, you can't have zero mass (actually the limit seems to be a tiny bit above zero, but we don't know where exactly), and if you store too much health you die. Speed is supposedly especially tricky to store, but we're not sure exactly why. Mass changing like Feruchemists do isn't something our universe supports, so trying to figure out what would happen in a situation like this is... weird. But no, you would not be able to reach the speed of light, since you'd have to get rid of ALL of your rest mass for that to work. As I stated above, that isn't possible. And in fact, in our universe, anything with zero mass always moves at the speed of light (in vacuum (actually, out of vacuum too, kind of, but it wobbles other charges around it so it looks like it travels slower. physics is weird)), meaning that if a Feruchemist had zero mass, that would make all the particles that made up the person just fly off in random directions at the speed of light. That would not only kill the Feruchemist, but also leave a massive crater.
  13. I suppose that's true. I still think the existence of Atium Mistings is a property of Ruin investing in the same world as Preservation, rather than something Leras did.
  14. Yep. Could just be a reference to Hemalurgy, perhaps.
  15. Here: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Malatium or here: http://coppermind.net/wiki/Steel_alphabet
  16. Heh, just found that too, by accidentally noticing that The Eleventh Metal used the same symbol. Not sure how I missed that before... Wow, I never noticed you could view that as a Steel alphabet symbol If I ever noticed it before, I must have just seen it as the literal shape of the fortress.
  17. The symbol for part five is Aon Ire in a Steel alphabet style. Edit: Oh. and you didn't mention part six, but that one is Ettmetal/Harmonium.
  18. Well, it's based on "Aloha", so... Like that. Whichever that one is. Though I guess you could also follow whichever pronunciation they use in the anime. Whichever that one is.
  19. I guess there are interesting spren inside greatshells? But everything points to Hoid, especially since he made comments about art.
  20. I think what she says is something like "I've helped men kill before", which does imply she is older than the Recreance, and has bonded people before, yes.
  21. I think atium Mistings were created even without Preservation's intervention. At least we know that they were created long before the mists started snapping people. Seers are probably a direct side effect of Ruin being Invested in the planet together with Preservation. I'd say it's likely atium Mistings are being born, but never find out which power they have - just like chromium Mistings among others, back in the ash era.
  22. Fair enough A lot gets lost in transcriptions, after all. I guess the next question, if both really do come from Kalak, would be why Vasher used the name "Kalad" at all...
  23. From the context of his answer (but not your question), it sounds more like he's talking about Vasher's connection to Roshar in general, rather than the name in particular...
  24. It's much easier to deposit your own Pokémon and wait, unfortunately. Version exclusives and rare Pokémon like Mareanie tend to go fast, and are easy to breed once you get a single one. Because of how ridiculous most GTS requests are, most fair trades tend to get accepted fairly quickly. Sometimes not though. (On a completely unrelated note, does anyone want a Regenerator Mareanie with Haze? I have over two boxes.)
  25. There is a deleted (and no longer canon) scene where mist spirits of other shards make an appearance. Even if that scene is no longer canon, that could still be something shards from other planets are capable of. Didn't the mist spirit stab someone? Preservation couldn't do that without help, from what we've seen.
