  1. I've always felt that Superheroes by The Script would be an amazing song for a Mistborn trailer in general
  2. The way I've always viewed savanthood: Imagine a pump pushing water through a tube. The pump is the allomantic ability, and the water coming out of the tube is the power output. A pump can work most efficiently at a moderate speed when it is not applying pressure to the pipe (standard burn), but you can flare your power, forcing the pump to speed up. When this happens, however, much more water is moving through the tide, forcing it to widen. Eventually, the tube will be so stretched huge amounts of water could easily flow through it, which would be savanthood. In this scenario, the power of the pump would represent your allomantic strength. Because hemarulgy reduces the strength of the power, the pump would inherently be smaller. This would make it more difficult for the pipe to be exposed to pressure and stretched the point of savanthood, but it would still theoretically be possible
  3. One interesting thing about this is that we know Vasher is somehow suppressing his divine breath, as stated in the prologue of WB. This leads me to believe that he was likely storing it in Nightblood.
  4. We know that the planet is shardificial (shard-made, not quite manmade), so there is a chance that any potential creature that compromises the planet could potentially live off of investiture. As it would be as large as the planet itself, it would always have a highstorm on it at some point, which would provide a source of investiture for it at all times. It could also potentially draw investiture from the moons (as it's generally accepted that they're gemstones). Potential branch theories (Tinfoil hat alert): 1) All greatshells "bud" off of this creature: this could explain why the Chasmfiends appear to migrate to the Shattered plains from an unknown location. They would bud off of the huge creature at the plains and pupate almost immediately. This could explain why their birthplace remains unknown and why they continue to pupate regularly at the plains following the "systematic destruction of their juvenile population" 2) The head of the greatshell is the origin 3) The greatshell can somehow metabolize water a) The whirlpool in Hoid's story was the water intake point Note: I don't necessarily believe the "Potential branch theories", but I think discussion on them would be interesting
  5. I love this theory, even though I personally don't believe it. I upvoted for how well thought out it was, though Just a nitpick here, but I was under the impression that the Stormfather was "instructed" to deliver the messages to Dalinar by Honor himself, which would mean that the cognitive shadow (The Stormfather) was not actually providing the visions but rather serving as a sort of conductor from the source (Honor) to the endpoint (Dalinar). Also, keep in mind that spren are only visible in the physical realm due to abnormally high investiture levels, as each is a piece of a shard. The Stormfather appears to be a substantial chunk of Honor, large enough to have developed a mind of its own. Whatever cognitive shadow we are theorizing was Vin is unlikely to have levels of investiture that are even remotely comparable. Similarly, Atium was the investiture that made a significant portion of a shard (enough to counterbalance the extra preservation in every person). These beads likely had much more investiture than a cognitive aspect, but they still could only expand the mind, not control itETA: reply to SH spoiler
  6. When it ends, everything is Ruined Investiture is like toilet paper
  7. Granted. Everyone now understands everything you're trying to say to them, but also everything you're trying to avoid telling them. PS: I knew what you said, just thought a "gas gun" instead of a Gauss gun would be a kinda funny bane. It was also a reference to Despicable Me, where he gets a "fart gun" instead of a dart gun
  8. Perhaps Nightblood acts as a sort of antimater to investiture's matter, creating energy to power the sword when the 2 come in contact but resulting in the anhiliation of both. This would explain the "net loss" of investiture. Furthermore, the death and following loss of investiture could be similar to proton decay, or the change of investiture into a form that is nearly irretrievable.
  9. Both make people mad when they wake them up The Ood are like the Parshendi
  10. Granted. Here's your gas gun!<Img src="https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/G/01/aplus/detail-page/B00BSWS6SM_01_lg.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.amazon.com/Despicable-Me-Fart-Blaster-Minion/dp/B00BSWS650&h=873&w=1000&tbnid=yK20uVsEZTlDKM:&docid=VDK1vZF73a6sWM&hl=en-us&ei=yPjaVuXAFcLfjwTKlbeQBQ&tbm=isch&client=safari&ved=0ahUKEwjlxPz066nLAhXC74MKHcrKDVIQMwgsKAAwAA%22" /> I wish to be able to change the channel without moving or a remote ETA: So, apparently HTML doesn't work that well here
  11. I figured it out as soon as Spook lost his spike. A friend of mine figured it out way faster though
  12. Granted, but it escapes and bonds with your least favorite person. I wish that the snow in my yard would melt
  13. Yeah, I was under the impression that it sort of widened the canals of investiture in your spirit web, allowing for the power to flow more easily. I don't see how it would be transferred over by a spike, as spikes more tack on extra spiritual pieces, rather than transferring the damage of savanthood
  14. Biggest issue I see with this is Snapping. Based on this theory, anyone on the planet could Snap. It's said that the Terris people were immune to the Mist sickness because of their ability to do just that, however. This leads me to feel that they must have had no base allomantic strength. Based on this, TLR shouldn't have been able to burn the Lesarium at the well. My personal theory is due to a higher concentration of preservation in their spirit web, they have a natural affinity to the investiture of preservation and are therefore able to utilize his power when its concentrated in the Lesarium bead. ETA: Also, this would mean that if a mistborn were to ingest metals including duralumin, their entire store would be used because they would be unconsciously burning all of the metals (once again, including duralumin). On top of that, this theory would allow for a normal person to perform allomancy assuming they were boosted by enough nicrosil mistings.
  15. You have perfect pronunciation and hearing, but you can only speak in and understand DawnchantI wish to get access to the next mistborn book
  16. Granted. You've lost both your arms, so you don't have a funny bone to bump anymore I wish to be a full mistborn
  17. Granted, but it becomes so popular that all of the Cosmere's mysteries are unraveled by the billions of fans and there's no more point theorizing. I wish to ace all of my tests
  18. Granted, but they're all the Bertie Botts earwax flavorI wish for the ability to fly
  19. I like this theory, I might espouse it in a bit Polarization could also explain the pushing vs. pulling metals. Also, perhaps these waves interact with the mists (a form of investiture) to cause them to swirl around allomancers.
  20. We know that Wit has access to Soothing, as stated by Pathfinder. We also know he can lightweave (or something similar) due to his storytelling abilities, and we know he has reached at least the 2nd heightening (He remarks about his "perfect pitch" while tuning an instrument). I'm not sure what powers Vasher hasSecret History spoiler: Sorry for slightly derailing the thread
  21. What I meant by this is that because the spren wouldn't be bound to the KR, but rather to whoever received the spike, wouldn't its new host not have sworn the oaths, basically resulting in the same effect as if the KR had broken them? In both cases, the oath is invalidated, but I suppose it could be argued that the actual process of breaking the oath caused the sprens' deaths rather than the end result of invalidationEdit: Apparently HTML doesn't work very well here
  22. No two are exactly alike Books are like clouds
  23. Things'll get pretty hairy Light is like the ocean
  24. Huh, it's been awhile since I read the books, must have forgotten that.
  25. Great! I'd love to hear what you find out
