  1. In Warbreaker he does the big exposition piece (Brandon had him do it to make the story telling more interesting) and uses Yolish lightweaving.  On Sel he tries -and fails- to become an Elantrian. He's working with the Skaze at this point. While trying to do that he also helps Sarene smuggle weapons. Later on he masquerades as the Fool in the Rose Empire and steals the moon sceptre.

And considering that he beats up Kell in Secret History I doubt his intention was to help the Survivor. More likely their goals just happened to align.

  2. Spoiler

I think she's smart enough not to listen to him. Not to mention being really annoyed about the whole stabbing Elend thing. And I doubt Kell would have wanted her to become the next LR anyway; he's more likely to try to get her to bring him back... And he had changed some by that point.

Spending a year with little to do but reflect does change you. And Kelsier was willing to be imprisoned for the next 1000 years to prevent Ruin's release. It was astonishingly selfless, all things considered. So I don't think that is a likely result.

His presence there does alter things though.

  3. He has several books planned (I think they are

    Spoiler

    Alcatraz 6

Rithmatist 2, Apocalypse Guard, and TLM.) He also has to revise SA3 before release. And TOR will probably want SA3 released first, and that is set for late 2017. So I think early 2018 (January/February) is most likely.

    Spoiler

Alcatraz 6 will probably be the first in between book and may actually be released before SA3 (children's books being done by a different part of the company and also being shorter. Also aimed at a very different audience.) Maybe in the Summer?

I suspect Rithmatist will be the last released as it takes the most research and is basically a non-cosmere cosmere book in many ways. (I believe Brandon originally conceived it as part of the cosmere and then changed his mind.)

    So my guesses are:

    Spoiler

Alcatraz 6 being released in mid to late Summer.

SA3 being released in mid to late Fall; TLM being released in early 2018; Apocalypse guard being released in Summer of 2018; and Rithmatist 2 in the Autumn of 2018. Then a break until SA4 in late 2019.

  4. But that isn't what happens during dehydration. I dissected an eye; even after removing the water there is a lot of material left over. And removing moisture does not turn skin to dust; that's actually how we make leather and parchment. Bodies in a desert actually end up preserved. (Like curing meat.) It always struck me as odd that the bodies were basically consumed from within.

That really belongs in Cosmere theories though. Mostly it's just something I want to ask Brandon, especially since this theory is based more on descriptions from the prose, not the comic.

  5. That concept may explain how someone who held Preservation for a bit could know certain things about the arts; the knowledge may be instinctive to the Shards. However, if they were not focused on that information they would likely not recall it consciously upon releasing the power as they would no longer have the mental capacity to manage so much information.

So Rashek probably kept his knowledge of ecosystems and genetics, but not having focused on Hemalurgy he did not recall anything but the suggestions Ruin implanted.

    Spoiler

In contrast, not only did Kelsier hold the power longer, but some part of his mind was likely seeking a means to reconnect to the physical realm, albeit non-consciously. He was also always fascinated by the three arts. So the knowledge is likely still extent in his mind; possibly quite close to the surface awaiting a catalyst to cause recall.

On the other hand, Kell's knowledge of the sciences has probably returned to baseline after giving over Preservation.

  6. It's cool (and I voted yes) but if I could create a t-shirt it would have the words Sovereign [and] Survivor, with a spear piercing the two words. It would have the same effect and look so awesome...

I may create one just for myself. You can do that under free use laws. It's selling it to others that is the problem. (Thus my homemade Bucky Barnes T-Shirt that I drew. I can't sell it but I can wear it.)

  7. It's been confirmed that Forten's potions are yet another variant of Selish magic. (I KNOW I read that; finding where though...)

I believe Sandmastery may have a genetic component as well, but that is unconfirmed and more an indication.

Mistborn...he apparently did not finish it...book three, two, or one.

(Also rithmatist he does not kill main character off...yet. Also legion, no real main one dies yet. And stormlight, again yet. The short stories. Alcatraz... yet. Emperors soul. But i agree that in all his finished more mature series, he kills off characters. Not because he likes to, but he needs to for plot.)

Have you read the latest Alcatraz book yet?

    Spoiler

I don't know if Attica counts as a major character but it certainly has a major impact...

Technically no major character dies who stays dead in TFE... but that's because Kelsier is Kelsier and he doesn't listen to Brandon.
