The blond haired man moved continued rifling inside the wine cabinet. A small ‘click’ sounded and the man grinned triumphantly as he stood, prize in hand. “There’s always another secret,” he said cheerfully, scarred hand reaching for the corkscrew. “Silk should have known better than to hide this.” He opened the vintage with a flourish, glancing over at the other man present. “Glass?”

There was no mention of such in the book. Thaidakar is: A Cognitive Shadow The Lord of Scars; ie. known for his scars Someone Hoid has slapped around Someone we have seen go to great lengths to achieve his goals in another series. Gavin is not known as a Cognitive Shadow; Kelsier is. Gevin does have extensive scarring, as does Kelsier. However Kelsier is the one Hoid has addressed by those scars before (‘Scarred One.’) Also, Kelsier’s scars are used as his primary form of identification; in White Sand Gevin is identified more by his status and his bandages. Hoid has not been able to hurt anyone since the Shattering, with the exception of Kelsier. He has never been seen beating up Gevin. We have seen the lengths Kelsier will go to to fulfill his goals in another series. White Sand isn’t a series yet (only book one has been transcribed) and we see Gevin give up on his goals, not go to great lengths to achieve them. There is no reason to think Thaidakar is Gevin, as Gevin does not fit most of the known information.

It seems to be a pixelated Szeth, which is cute. But it looks like he only has one eye, which is creepy. Also, pixelated images give me headaches. 5/10. -
And their creator is still active. Also, Mistborn will be the finale of the Cosmere. Which does indicate that our protagonists will be Scadrians.

We don’t actually know why Saze lied. He knew Kell well enough to know that wouldn’t discourage him. Brandon’s response when asked about this was to say - carefully - that Saze has a better opinion of Kelsier than Kelsier. Which implies to me that there was something more to this. Sazed knew something. There’s always another secret... As for Ham and Breeze... Ham actually says that he’s always up for joining one of Kell’s crews, and Breeze implies the same. They’re his friends and they know him. But they’re still going to help him, if only because he’s Kelsier and they aren’t about to leave him in the Cognitive Realm. They never worshipped him, but they still followed him. They’re loyal to him in a very different way than Spook, but they are loyal. Beldre and Alriane get involved on their own insistence. But this is way too serious for the meme board really. I wrote that as a joke, because that’s what this board is for.
-
I didn’t come up with that. He’s literally called the Sovereign! Also, he can’t worldhop. WoB on that one, and it’s implied that that’s the problem he shares with the heralds. I agree with you, but we don’t actually know he founded them. Though I’m pretty sure the original Ghostbloods were: Kelsier, Spook, Breeze, Ham, Beldre and Alriane. Their first job: Get Kelsier a body. And the name was Spook’s idea. He thought it was funny. No one else did, but it stuck anyway.

A Kelsier and Dalinar comparison + some spite

He invented the tech and they put it together from what he gave them, not the other way around. -
Kell doesn’t do everything for himself though. He is inherently selfish, but he likes to focus himself on good causes that better others. And himself, too, of course. He WANTS to be good, knows he isn’t, and tries to point himself at good ends to countermand that. It’s an inherent paradox in his character, and it’s why I find him so fascinating. Also, Brandon has said he’s chaotic neutral. But that’s a side point. Kell is a trickster/rogue. It’s what makes him so much fun! And Kell is not lawful anything. The man is chaos incarnate.
-
I agree that he was always like that, but most people seem to have missed it. But I disagree that he’s evil. He’s as chaotic neutral as he’s ever been - we’re just on the wrong side of his plans. Well, you are. I’m a Ghostblood.

If Kelsier was Radiant, which order would he be?

Only works if you don’t use the French pronunciation for her name - which I actually do. (Vah(n)) -

Scadrial, because it’s home. And because the main characters don’t make me suicidal (cough, Kaladin, cough). On the other hand, the Survivor is very helpful in fighting through that one week a month... Thanks Kell! I don’t think Scadrial and Roshar are going to war directly though. I got very strong Cold War vibes from the excerpt. I think what we have are two powerful worlds, with fundamentally opposed philosophies, fighting proxy wars for power and resources but never actually going up against one another directly. Which is far more interesting than a simple war.

A Kelsier and Dalinar comparison + some spite
Kingsdaughter613 replied to i’m in the details's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Lol! The one eye really makes him look like a pirate! And yes, I’m assuming if the GBs have access, their boss should too. We don’t know how he got feruchemy. My guess is that he knows how Preservation gave it to the first Feruchemists. We know Brandon has repeatedly RAFOd this, and he did indicate once that he was saving this for the future. I think we’ll finally find out how through Kelsier. Kell wouldn’t use many spikes as it opens him to be controlled by others. He would be very against anything that could do that. The issue is simply a practical one. -

My guess is that Kell only has the one spike. He probably does have Breath though, and maybe a bonded Aviar. -
Eryn climbed into the carriage beside Sage, settling herself down neatly. She pushed back her hood, revealing her multitude of dark braids, and tilted her head back to enjoy the warm midday sun. It was nice for it to be warm enough that she could release her brass and put her hood down.

“Forgot to say returned after,” Eryn noted. “Death did not stick. Likes meddling now.” It was amusing regardless. All the comments were really. “Would like you. These funny.”

Yeah, I’m the one who wrote a roast, which included him threatening to force MeLaan to drown herself in lye if she tried to act against him. And I adore Kell. I’m just very honest about who and what he is - and that isn’t a nice person.

Eryn smiled at the Inquisitor - Marie, the compounder called her. She was acting in a very different manner than before, to Eryn’s amusement. She could appreciate the subterfuge.

A Kelsier and Dalinar comparison + some spite
Kingsdaughter613 replied to i’m in the details's topic in Cosmere Discussion
He seems to be Fullborn now. That gives him an obscene amount of Speed, which is such a game breaker. I don’t think he’d fight directly though. He’s too much of a conman and assassin for that. -
Eryn stood, and followed sedately. Her Connection to her master had faded now; he was no longer watching it seemed.
