Happy Ookla the Mokovial 2017, everyone! I'm probably going to give my identity away right off the bat with this post of nature photos. Interesting ducks (2 photos): Grumpy goose (1 photo): Brown Creeper (2 photos): The funniest bird feet I've ever seen (1 photo):

@Stick no.789303 We really aren't supposed to be posting Oathbringer spoilers (even inside spoiler tags) outside of the specified spoiler boards right now. Have you read the Oathbringer spoiler policy?

Special Oathbringer Dust Jacket Giveaway
Sunbird commented on Chaos's article in Events, Signings, & Giveaways
Enter me to win! This is awesome and hilarious! -
@Erunion IIRC it's the slang term for a steel compounder. If not that, then one of the other Twinborn combinations.

I probably won't be able to come this month no matter when we meet, so feel free to make plans without trying to accommodate me.

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
Sunbird replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Ugh, it's been a rotten few days. I've been mildly sick for about a week, but yesterday and today it's definitely gotten worse. Last night I grabbed some Panda Express for dinner, and I feel extremely lucky that I managed to drive home safely, given that I was struggling not to literally fall asleep on my feet both while I was standing in line and after I arrived home. Didn't even manage to eat the food, I was so sleepy. And then once I actually got in bed, I spent what felt like a storming hour shivering violently under the blankets before actually getting to sleep. Today I've been getting dizzy every time I stand up, and my internal thermometer is all stormed up--my body can't decide whether it's overheating or freezing. Add in a constant throbbing headache and that weird "I'm hungry but I don't wanna eat" feeling, and I feel like total crem. I'm 99% sure it's the flu. -
I wondered about that too. IIRC there's been a lot of debate leading up to this release about whether or not a character can be dead during their own book, and now that debate makes a lot of sense.

This. SO MUCH THIS. So far, only the Bridge 4 POV chapters have brought me to tears in this book. (I know I'll probably cry at some point during the Sanderlanche too.) I assume most of us noticed that the picture at the top of Moash's chapters is the Bridge 4 chapter icon with the shoulder patch ripped off? I suspect Moash is on a path to become Odium's champion. I mean, his internal monologue sounds like he's given up on humanity enough that he could be convinced to help Odium eradicate it. Stormvision Network is a fantastic name; I'm going to use it from now on. Storms, yes! It made me so glad to see Shallan giving that airheaded scribe a tongue-lashing in Renarin's defense. Also "Urithiru's Audible account" made me LOL. I also got the impression that Jasnah was the author of the Part 1 epigraphs. Just the tone and the scholarly/educated voice sounded like her. My face when I realized Sazed was part of the epigraphs of Part 2: I'm seriously wondering if we might see her again outside of flashbacks. Brandon's stated that Eshonai is a viewpoint character who will get her own book, amirite? I know he said he was done with the death fakeouts for Stormlight after what happened with Jasnah and Szeth, but given what we're learning about the Parshendi and the Fused, maybe she will become a Cognitive Shadow or something? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Steeldancer It's because everyone has their noses buried in Oathbringer (me included!).

I've got the US kindle edition, and Shallan's sketches are in it, along with the map of Roshar in the front. I won't know what all else there is until I finish reading the whole book.

Finished Switchback. A bit too short for my liking (under 300 pages print length), but otherwise good.

Was that Zas? I think I recall visiting his profile a few months ago and seeing that he still hadn't changed back from his Ookla name.

@AngelEy3 yes, they're brilliant!! Just look up "William Shakespeare's Star Wars" or the author, Ian Doescher. He's already adapted the original six episodes, and the seventh just came out recently.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Sunbird replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Is this the book you guys are referring to? (Apparently Shadowborn is a popular title for fantasy novels, because I got several results when I searched it on GoodReads.) Also, you know you're a Sanderfan when you change your Facebook cover photo to the Oathbringer cover art and your profile picture to the Bondsmith glyph. -
I hope it's okay for me to double post since it's been almost a week since there was any activity in this thread... Someone posted this in one of my Facebook groups: An English landlady was dating 2 of her tenants, both of them playwrights. She could not determine which of them to marry; so she decided to let fate decide. She baked 5 of her famous flat wheatcakes but put poison in one of them. She would marry the survivor. However, the two playwrights twisted fate when they split the last one, the poisoned one, between them.... The police arrested her for killing two bards with one scone.
