  1. Yet. But he also shares screentime with 5+ primary PoVs and a huge case of secondaries - whereas Wayne is 1/2 of the primary PoV team.
  2. No worries I'm only getting these first because @alder24 is likely asleep (another Sharder who enjoys answering questions and providing sources - usually much better than me)
  3. I did not say I had a Top Ten, just they would not be on the list if I made one. That said, from an old Top-5 thread: If I were expand that, I would add (still in nor particular order): TenSoon Renarin Baon Shai Vasher With the Honorable Mentions going to Raoden, Steris and Fort. For Now. Wayne Lopen and Lift might make the top 25 if I kept going. . .
  4. Since you still do not have an Intro Post ( let us know what you have or have-not read - whichever list is shorter), I am guessing you are asking because you have finished the book and are still confused. However, I will Spoiler Tag just in case. Spoilers for YatNP, Warbreaker, and Stormlight Archive: Hope that helps.
  5. I did not actually say "I like Wayne" - just added source WoBs about Wayne and Lopen BroMance. Personally, they are about even for me (along with Lift) - not my style of humor most of the time, but not bad either. If I were to list a Cosmere Top Ten Characters, neither would make the list.
  6. Please see this thread (Wind and Truth spoilers, but no Isles of the Emberdark spoilers). The SHARDER FAQ also has tips and tricks for searching the forums (with a Screenshot).
  7. WoBs:
  8. Most discussion on Raoden is in the Elantris Forum (e. g. I Like Raoden) Since Cosmere Discussion is meant for when discussing two or more different series/stand-alones for the Cosmere (or general Realmatics that is beind all Cosmere stories). That said, I don't think I realized he was "controversial" - he's a great character. But Brandon was also worried about how Raoden would be perceived: Elantris Annotations: Hope that helps.
  9. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. Demoux was also in The Way of Kings (Minor Spoilers) They are part of the Seventeeth Shard - A worldhopper organization with it's own agenda. They have tools available that extend life expectancy, and while we know some of the tools that can be used, we do not yet know which one(s) specifically they have used. WoBs Hope that helps
  10. Thank you. Glad I could help; and more happy to see how far you have progressed since your first question:
  11. Unlikely - It's implied that Command Breaking works because the Animating Breath is matched to the Identity of the Lifeless (not the Awakener) but there is just not enough Identity there to "protect it." For example, WoB: So, if Susebron, with all of Lifegiver's treasure, would not be able to Command Break Nightblood - then it is likely that either being a Type IV changes things, or having a solid Identity changes things (or both). There are no indications of Type I being Command Broken, but being a Splinter means that is probably at least as hard as Nightblood, if it is possible at all. There are no Indications of a Type III being Command Broken, and I think that would have happened a lot in the Manywar, if it was possible. My conclusion is that Identity is the primary factor - leaving the Lifeless susceptible for the reason mentioned above. I would not say impossible, because we just do not have enough data - but it seems unlikely to me. Hope that helps.
  12. Kaladin is Human, he would succumb. The main reason Hobbits had a resistance to the One Ring's influence was because there were no Rings of Power created to influence their race (3 Rings of Power for the Elves, 7 for the Dwarves, 9 for Men - 0 for Hobbits). Now, Rlain. . . he would likely be able to resist.
  13. Nahel Bonds and Luhel Bonds are not really the same. The as-yet-unnamed Bond from Era 1 is likely the third Bond. Discussed here. Excerpt (Spoilers for SA, Warbreaker, Tress, Yumi): Hope that helps
  14. Maybe. We know that the characters and the tech level of Era 1 and 2 believe this to be true. We also know that the Atium Spikes of Era 1 were not Pure Atium. it is implied that that is part of the reason they could hold a Hermalurgic Charge (it's not pure investiture in solid form, so there is "room" for a charge). However, we also know that Godmetals play weirdly with the Metallic Arts (though we do not know Why yet) - otherwise, pushing on a Atium vial would be nearly-as-hard as Pushing on a (SA Spoilers) Shardblade. What we do not know is: Is a Trellium spike actually pure Bavadinium - or an alloy of some kind (like E1Atium) Was the invested nature actually why it was harder to melt (Wax assumes it was, but that does not mean Wax is correct). It cannot be that "more investititure = denser PR state" because Investiture can also exist in the PR as energy (or plasma). The Physical Realm state of Investiture is, based on current known information, reliant upon Identity and/or Intent - not quantity of Investiture (Elantris spoilers with Mistborn Comparison): So, Investiture's Matter-like expression in the Physical Realm is likely tied to the Intent and Identity of the investiture, not the quantity of investiture. There are axes of factors that affect Physical Investiture that have nothing to do with quantity. . . Hope that helps.
  15. What is more alive, a person or their child? Lerasium is the Mists (in Era 1) is the Well. They are the same power (both pure Preservation Investiture), in different Physical Realm States (and note there is also a difference between, for example, Investiture in a Gaseous State and Investiture in the Physical Realm appearing to be Gaseous - for example, Mist is not affected by Wind or Fog - so it is investiture appearing as a Gas whereas Lerasium is Investiture as a solid, affected by Physical Stimuli by which other Metallic Solids can be affected). Now, if you were to say "1 cubic centimeter" of Lerasium or Mist (or Well "liquid") - then we don't know, but my best guess is that the Liquid state would have the highest amount of investiture by volume - as the PR Godmetal crystaline structure is limiting (there is likely a reason most perpendicularities are "liquid" Shardpools). Hope that helps
  16. WoBs: Hope that helps
  17. That was kind of my original Point - Bavadin seems to take a "survival of the fittest" view of Autonomy (like "Highlander" - there can be only one). In this case it was pitting Kertz and Lossa (and descendants) against each other, so only the worthy would win and control the continent. Just as (WS spoilers):
  18. Many modern Sand Masters are, but not all. That does not detract from the fact that the Sand Lord gifted Lossa with Sand Mastery and she founded both Lossand and the Sand Masters.
  19. Welcome to the Shard. Please consider an Intro Post to let us know what you have or have-not read (whichever list is shorter). Also, please consider checking out the Sharder FAQ for some useful forum info and tips. We have no futher data, than the text. Though the name has been primarily female since 1975ish. I don't think Brandon intended to imply a gender (or he would have chosen a less ambiguous name), so he likely wanted to leave the interpretation up to the reader. Hope that helps.
  20. Prelude to SA in WoK (with the Heralds, Kalak's viewpoint) does not have a Chapter Arch at all. Prologue in WoK (Szeth) - yes, it is there. The first Chapter to show any additional cracks beyond that one is WaT Ch 14 (Day 2), as far as I can find.
  21. That crack has been there since WoK Chapter 1 (regardless of which herald is in the second spot): If it has meaning, it's likely just foreshadowing for what we saw happened during WaT. But I cannot find a WoB that specifically addresses the crack in the early books. Here's the WoBs about the Herald Arch itself: Hope that helps Only if you cooked the cereal in the milk (like oatmeal can be considered a type of stew/porridge). Hope that helps.
  22. Scary, yes. Compatible, Partially. WoB:
  23. Concur, Kaladin has very strong Aro vibes, he does not need a romantic relationship to be happy. Not everybody does, and it's nice to finally have a MC without a love interest (discussed in more depth here and here).
  24. Personally, pending further evidence, I think there was 1 moon before the Shattering; at which time Adonalsium's Moon also Shattered - leaving three celestial bodies in orbit, and the remaining detritus to burn up on re-entry, until only survivable fragments made it to the Plains to be covered by Crem and Time. Because of whatever like-but-not-aluminum properties (duralumin being the common theory) that Moon had(has), as Shards entered the Rosharan system, each moon Connected to one of the incoming Shards and, suffused with that Shard's Light, the coloration of the moon changed to fit the Connection.
