Since a squire needs to be near a Radiant to use Stormlight and Kaladin was in Urithiru when Lopen regrew his arm this means he did it independently from Kaladin, right? But if so he had a spren he was working with without the reader's knowledge....

Yeah totally going to say: no loophole. Never will be

The female Knight Radiant that Dalinar spoke with in his vision said that one with his fighting capabilities would most certainly find a place among the radiants. I believe Adolin also fits the bill as well.

Shadesmar more dangerous than physical realm?
Watchcry replied to Watchcry's topic in Stormlight Archive
True. And I know Elsecallers are the masters of Shadesmar but with Willshapers being the explorer/adventurer types, that I've always assumed they would explore and become more familiar with shadesmar more so than elsecallers but I guess they will utilize their surges simply to explore the physical realm by transporting instantaneously to various locations instead of shadesmar itself. -
Shadesmar more dangerous than physical realm?

You say point-to-point within a given realm I just thought one always had to go through Shadesmar to transport. -
Shadesmar more dangerous than physical realm?
Watchcry replied to Watchcry's topic in Stormlight Archive
If it's astral projection then they can't physically teleport from one location to another unless they enter completely and find a perpendicularity? That sounds kind of lame as far as supporting a battle on Roshar. -
Hey all. Just had a thought this morning about Shadesmar. It appears that Shadesmar is so alien that it is as much or more dangerous than the physical realm. My questions are: What makes a Willshaper or Elsecaller more able/powerful enough to take on that realm more so than other orders (or even shard worlds). How does the Elsecaller ability of transformation benefit them as the Masters of Shadesmar once they use transportation to get there? Or is it just their wits and intellect that enables them to master cognitive entities there? I understand much won't be revealed in the next book with Jasnah having a lesser role again but I just wanted your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Where have we seen Kalak?

Navani definitely ought to have noticed Gavilar receiving visions during high storms. She would have said something to Dalinar.

Book Recommendation for Sanderson Fan
Watchcry replied to Dubisx's topic in General Brandon Discussion
The first Anthony Ryan book was AMAZING, but I heard the last two were horrible. I also didn't mind the Powder Mage series, either. It was entertaining and easy to read through but by far it didn't explain things too much in depth as does Brandon. -
Exactly. It would be incredibly difficult to carry on a story with that sort of scenario. But I guess he could always go back to pre recreance for a good story if he ever wanted to.

If Roshar is destroyed how would knights radiants be able to utilize their surges? All they'd be good for is shardplate and shardblades correct?

Someone's going to have to have some insight over the new Odium after either Adolin or Dalinar takes the shard at the end of book 5.

Kaladin obtains shardplate. Dalinar speaks with Ishar

[OB] Oathbringer to explain all orders and surges?
Watchcry replied to Watchcry's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is my thing: Dalinar is bonded to the StormFather for crying out loud. He has observed radiants for millennia, hasn't he? He should be able to explain a lot to Dalinar about more than just orders and surges once their bond becomes stronger. Am I wrong? -
[OB] Oathbringer to explain all orders and surges?
Watchcry replied to Watchcry's topic in Stormlight Archive
I at least want to know the basic fundamentals around what they're about. I hate speculation. -
I'm hoping and praying we at least learn what each of the orders can do and finally have clarity on what all the surges can do. I don't want to wait another 3-4 years to know what they all do. I just might go crazy. Which order / surge do you all want to learn more about? Me? For order I want to learn more about Truthwatchers because they're so secretive. I think/hope Truthwatchers will be like Atium mistings who can heal. For surge I'd like to learn more about division and cohesion. Comments?

I can see Adolin going full on dark side. That'd make a great story line

I've thought of this as well. So many have been slaughtered with ease by shardbearers that it would seem that few would be left to slaughter in the future. One would think that the average couple ought to have five or six children each to repopulate but I haven't observed many children to a single family with the exception to Shallan's family.

Magic system is much better in Stormlight. Much more rich and epic.

That's a good way to think of it. It's definitely different than other theories I've read.

After re-reading the WoKs Dalinar vision with the female KR, she says all ten orders "fight for no king and for all of them." She later states that "all who can fight are needed" and that the knights Radiant are "warriors who protect and fight," that they "maintain the terrible art of killing, then pass them on to others when the desolation comes." So according to her, all orders' purpose is to fight and there are no non-battle orders of the knights radiants as I had originally presumed.

That'd be cool but I definitely feel he's going to have a lot to deal with back in Urithiru

From the beta article posted on Tor it sounds like there will be quite a bit of Kaladin, Adolin, and Bridge Four.
