  1. I saw the first two episodes of Wednesday and wasn't particularly amazed. It was well-made, but felt a lot like every other supernatural high-school-drama around. Jenna Ortega was good, but not really mindblowing in the way that the internet seems to think. She mostly just walks around with a straight face and drops dark one-liners (which is basically Wednesdays entire character, and it gets old/repetetive rather quickly). I wasn't particularly intrigued by any of the other characters either, they kind of felt like stereotypical characters from the high-school genre. Harry Potter did basically everything Wednesday did better.
  2. Whoops, thats right. My bad, forgot that part of it. I think that would be out of character for Adolin to be honest. He is not dumb enough to be tricked into becoming Odiums Champion, not for Rayse and not for Taravangian. He knows that Mr. T ordered a whole bunch of deaths, including his fathers and (indirectly) his own. I also think that Adolin is way to honorable to betray everyone just out of anger at Dalinar. He would have to let Shallan, Kaladin, Renarin and Navani down, which is something he wouldn't do. He is not that single-minded, or that hateful.
  3. For me it would have to be a three-way-tie between Mandalorian, Ahsoka and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. I love Star Wars, and I couldn't be more excited to see that story continue in season 3 of the Mandalorian, and then see Sabine and Thrawn in live-action in Ahsoka. And James Gunn is in my opinion the best comic book-movie director there is, and Guardians is one of Marvels best franchises. I have been waiting for the third one since 2017. What about everyone else?
  4. Obligatory Lord of the Rings mention. Tolkien was catholic, and his christianity defenitely shows.
  5. Agreed. Pre-Oathbringer, Adolin as Odiums Champion was a pretty popular theory, and a lot of people expected his character to go down a darker path after murdering Sadeas. If that is what Brandon wanted to do with Adolin, he would have done it then. That was not the route taken, and I do not see Adolin becoming an antagonist in any way. Besides, we already have Moash as the "friend turned enemy"-character. I agree with your self-awareness xD. Evis body is most likely a pile of ash scattered by the storms, and I doubt not even a Shard could create much from that.
  6. Shalash could presumably get better. Dalinar managed to temporarily heal Taln at Thaylen City, so it shouldn't be impossible. And, as @alder24said, the spren don't really appear to care about madness. Or at least, different kinds of spren have different views on it. The Highspren don't seem to care (ie, they still like Nale, and they bonded Szeth), for example.
  7. I like this reading of the Death Rattle. The one issue I have is that Brandon mentioned that Mr. T taking up Odium was something he didn't decide upon until writing RoW. He might have foreshadowed for that eventuality way back in WoK, sure, but it does hurt it's likelihood of being true a little for me. Reforging the Oathpact is a pretty popular theory, or was, at least. I myself like it, and think it would make a cool ending for SA5. I know a lot of people have issues with it though, and it might be too predictable, and would essentially reset the story to what it was at the start of WoK, but with people we know as Heralds instead and Taravangian as the holder of Odium instead of Rayse. Also, even if we get new Heralds in SA5, I strongly doubt that Lift or Jasnah would be among them. Lift is still a child, and I doubt she would be allowed to take up that kind of burden, and Jasnah is the queen of Alethkar. The people needs leaders and scholars, and she is both, and cannot be afforded to be lost to eternal damnation on Braize. Shalash has no surges, as far as we know. Her Honorblade grants Illumination and Transformation, but Nale was the only Herald to actually bond a spren and gain access to Surgebinding without his blade. It is feasible for Shalash to bond a spren of a different order than the Lightweavers if she so chooses/is deemed worthy. Common speculation pegs her as a potential Dustbringer, mostly because her recent penchant for destruction of various paintings and because the planned flashback-characters won't add up with the Orders of Radiants otherwise.
  8. Yeah, sorry, I meant on-page conversations. Should have specified that xD
  9. I doubt this, for several reasons. One is that Brandon made a point of having him survive TLM, despite having the opportunity to kill him off. If I remember correctly, he even considered having Marsh die at the end of Era 1 originally, but changed his mind. I think that such a powerful (and popular) character as Marsh wouldn't be kept around for no purpose. If his only future is fading into legend he should probably be dead. The other main reason for why Marsh has a future is that he is sitting in quite an interesting position going into Era 3. He is essentially Sazeds right-hand-man at the moment, and has been serving Harmony since the merging of Ruin and Preservation. But now his maverick brother who he has... complicated history with, is hinted to be heading into a potential conflict with Sazed. If and when that happens, whose side will Marsh take? Furthermore, I think there is a lot left to explore with Kelsier and Marsh and their history. They did spend a couple scenes together back in TFE, but since then they basically haven't seen eachother, yet has gone through huge changes. Just dropping that relationship would be a mistake, especially since both brothers are still alive, unlike most characters from Era 1.
  10. From TLM we know that Kelsier is recruiting agents from all around the Cosmere, and he has already gotten a couple characters we know from earlier stories (ie Shai). Is there anyone else in The Cosmere who you think might be a Ghostblood agent, or who could be a prime candidate for membership?
  11. Not that into music, and a bunch of what I'm into is pop songs from my native Sweden, but here goes, some of my favorite new songs for the year: *Wildfire by Against the Current *Bones by Imagine Dragons *Sharks by Imagine Dragons *Run to the Hills by Klara Hammarström *Till Our Days Are Over by Lillasyster *The Drum by Alan Walker *You lost me by Stefania *Hold Me Closer by Cornelia Jakobs *Selfish by Bow Anderson *In i dimman by Medina
  12. It would be hilarious if the entire plot of the Cosmere devolves into stacking Shards on Sazed.
  13. I do think there is some sense in looking to Kharbranth for book 5. For one, Shallan started her storyline there back in WoK, and it would be a nice circle should she return (and given that she is the main character whose role in book 5 is the least clear, I'd say she would likely be a POV in Kharbranth should we return there). We also have the case of Heralds. At least one is/has been in Kharbranth with Taravangian. However, I'm not sure that Taravangian being exposed would lead to a revolution in Kharbranth, or why anyone really would want to stir up trouble there. It is not a strategically super-important city. Geographically it is quite off-track from everything else. Even if Taravangian would start using it as a base for the forces of Odium, it would probably be lower priority than say Alethkar. I think any big battles in book 5 are more likely to be around the central or western parts of Roshar.
  14. I recently realized that Glen Powell (Hangman in Top Gun: Maverick) would be a great Kelsier. He has the charm, he can do the douchebag-act really well, and is charismatic enough to play the self-assured and compelling leader that Kelsier is. He is also around the right age for a TFE-Kelsier.
  15. I do like the idea of void-y chasmfiends, and I also think that they are way to big a part of the Roshar worldbuilding for Brandon to just drop them. However, they are most likely not Thunderclasts, those seem to be formed separately. Void-y creatures do generally not change their appearance that drastically beyond just looking a tad more evil. Chances are that voidy chasmfiends would look like normal chasmfiends, just a bit twisted and a tad more sinister. The question of why they were imagined as Chasmfiends in the first place would still remain though...
  16. I'll spoiler-tag this for the minor prologue spoiler:
  17. I'm gone for a couple months and suddenly everyone likes Moash? Okay, I guess... Anyway, I like Rock. He is pretty wholesome, really fun, and has an interesting background as our window into Horneater culture. Teft is amazing too, especially in RoW. Honorable mention to Skar for having the coolest name of the bunch.
  18. A lot of interesting stuff in this thread. My two cents: I didn't like Moash from day 1. Even when he was Kaladins friend and lieutenant in WoK and WoR he felt like a pretty unpleasant person. The other bridgemen always felt like nice guys beneath the depression and anger that came with being enslaved by Sadeas, but Moash always felt off to me. So his journey towards evil hasn't really been surprising to me. What I do appreciate is that he hasn't had a redemption arc, and I kind of hope he won't have one, if only because the kind of character that Moash is always seems to get one. I think that the racism-thing is explored with Kaladin. Kaladin does, in a lot of instances, particularly during WoR, feel the same anger due to being a victim that Moash does. The difference between them is that Kaladin deals with it in the right way, while Moash doesn't. Kaladin chooses to be better than those who enslaved him and discriminated against him, while Moash allows himself to be consumed by anger and hate. That anger is justified, but it doesn't excuse Moash's actions. While I don't feel this way myself, I can emphatize with it. Moash has more or less been the Ramsay Bolton of Stormlight, i.e, showing up a bunch of times per book and doing unlikeable stuff and killing off well-liked characters. I do think that having Moash be "free" from his pain means that he risks losing the sense of inner conflict that makes a villain interesting. Other characters like Taravangian, Szeth in the first books, and even Amaram, did have internal conflicts regarding their villainy. Moash doesn't really have that to that large of an extent, and he gets too little page-time for us to be able to delve into his very wierd psyche. This basically just makes him an evil henchman who shows up to kill a good guy and get his ass kicked. (I did like the Pursuer though, I think his role was great). Agreed. I'd also add that Moash killed Elhokar in front of Elhokars six-something age old son. That is insanely awful.
  19. I’m going to go with Kelsier. The guy has most likely made himself a Fullborn, and is thus nigh unkillable, but can figuratively nuke anything or anyone facing him in combat. He also knows a TON of stuff, arguably more than most, has access to countless minions through the Ghostbloods, and is also worshipped by at least two religions. His one negative is that he seems to be unable to physically leave Scadrial. This is also a very good point, even though his insanity probably nerfs him a litte.
  20. Neither one really strikes me as people out for relationships in any form, neither physical or romantic ones. Them hooking up felt pretty awkward and quite odd.
  21. Right, I forgot that Ishar did use surgebinding in RoW. And if he really wanted to, I doubt he’d care too much about people seeing him activate the Oathgate. It could help attract people to his cult for all he knows.
  22. He seemed quite bummed when Dalinar and co settled there, and considers it his by right, according to the letter he sent Dalinar in Oathbringer. So why didn't he just move in there first? He should know its location from his Heralding days, and he should be aware of the Oathgate locations as well. Just have Nale unlock one for him and its done. Yet he sits around in Sesemalex Dar instead. Any thoughts on why he never claimed Urithiru?
  23. Haha, no worries :-D
