  1. I like your thinking :-) He’d be way too OP On a more serious note, I really hope they add someone from Warcraft or League of Legends. Both has awesome fantasy characters. I’d love to have Arthas Menethil or Sylas for example. That could be cool, and both are huge, iconic games. I’d love a FE-character who isn’t the player avatar too. Edelgard, Claude, Anna, Dimitri, Saber, etc. There are tons of cool options there. Also, I will always hope for Palpitoad. Never gonna happen though.
  2. It will be written in like, spring-summer 2021, which is not terribly far away. The thing that I find wierd is that it is slotted for release late 2022. If he has it finished by July, why wait one and a half year to publish? I get that the publisher might need a bunch of extra months, but they can usually release Stormlight, which is three times the size of Mistborn in about a year after Brandon finishes the writing of the first draft. So Mistborn actually taking longer to go from first draft to actual book is what bugs me. Anyone who knows a reasonable explanation for this? Knowing Brandon, there is one, but I'd like to know what it is. As for Starsight, we have to be happy that Brandon is actually as productive as he is. He generally writes more than one book a year, which is a lot more than most of his contemporary authors, especially other heavyweights like Martin. If he feels that he needs to do Skyward before Mistborn, then that is the best thing, even if waiting sucks.
  3. Yup, Brandon has mentioned this multiple times. Has to do with France being an inspiration for names in Mistborn. But Brandon doesn't say Kel-see-ay either, so that is mostly how he imagines that the people in-world would say it. Personally, given that english isn't my native language, I probably pronounce a lot of names somewhat differently.
  4. I get this, especially since I couldn't get into Skyward. But it has to do with his different publishers, and also with him needing to take breaks and do different things. I'd rather wait a little longer for Lost Metal than have a burned-out Brandon. Otherwise, I guess that the bad thing about "Stormlight years" is that State isn't as exciting, since Brandon hasn't had as much time for side-projects. Still, cool to know about the audiobooks he is planning. And I hope he manages to get Apocalypse Guard going, since the thing Dan Wells read from it was hilarious. I'm really hyped for that book.
  5. This is a really fun idea. Hopefully people will participate. Anyway, everyone knows that the only three options are Jojo Rabbit, LotR and Infinity War. They each deserve a Brandon.
  6. I have been playing a lot of Smash today and yesterday with Sephiroth now being in the game. I have never played his FF-games (my only FF experience is two hours of the MMO). But I nontheless find Sephiroth a lot of fun, definitely more my kind of character than Steve and Min Min. That said, anyone having any guesses on which characters will get the remaining three DLC-spots for Smash? I know popular ones are Master Chief, Dante, a Pokemon from Sun/Moon, and of course, Waluigi. But what do you think, and also, what would your dream character be? I also made a poll, with (mostly) serious and popular alternatives.
  7. Episode 8 spoilers:
  8. Now that the Diagram is disbanded, and Taravangian is Ascended, so what (if any) role will the Diagram/Kharbranth faction play now. Are characters like Malata, Adro, Mrall or Danlan still going to be relevant? Will Taravangian still attempt to use them as his minions?
  9. I doubt it will be this easy. It's a Brandon book, and it won't go as we expect.
  10. I guess it could be Shallan. After all, a lot of people are getting crushes on her, and the fact that she is married to his brother might be a reason as to why he hasn't said anything.
  11. I hope not. Moash is the most villanious character in the series. He is more of a villain than Sadeas, Amaram, even Rayse. The only one who comes close is Taravangian. And having Moash go through a redemption arc would be too predictable, too much of a "been there, done that" arc, and require too much time. He is much more interesting as the guy who constantly, despite having better options, chose to turn away from everything that the Radiants represent. The guy is the perfect anti-Radiant.
  12. If Chana was obedient to a fault though, Nale would definitely care about recovering her. He went to great lenghts to get Szeth because Szeths obedience made him a great Skybreaker. Chana would be similar in that aspect. And the Heralds madness doesn't stop them from caring for eachother (which we see with Ash and Taln), and so I doubt that Nale would leave Chana to her fate, after spending literally thousands of years working with her to stop Desolations. Edit: Also, the madness of the Heralds seems to be manifesting in opposite ways to their original traits. Ishar, who used to be pious and guinding, is now claiming that he is a god, and only seeks to gain glory for himself, instead of advicing others. Jezrien, who used to lead, became a drunk and a beggar. Nale, who is supposed to be confident, now seems to rely solely upon the will or advice of others. Ash, honest and creative, spends her time destroying art under false identity. And Kalak, who is supposed to be resolute, is... well, not very resolute at all. So Chana would more likely be a coward or some kind of disobedient anarchist.
  13. Yeah, all theories are worth posting, no matter how good they are. We are here to discuss after all. And sure, she could have used Lightweaving, but like you yourself is saying, there are too many question-marks around it to make it feel plausible.
  14. Mayfeld is Top 5 characters in the show after this last episode.
  15. I think that there are two likely explanations for "the ten final days": 1. El survives the Contest, champion or not, and Roshar is changed forever by the result of the Contest. Thus, it would be the "final ten days" of the current Rosharan world order, and El names his book in the aftermath of writing it (which means after the Contest). 2. El assumes that this will be the Final Ten Days of Roshar as it currently is, and names the book based on that guess.
  16. I thought Restares was Aesudans father. Recent developments makes that seem unlikely. I thought Thaidakar was Sebarial. That was apparently wrong too. I thought Rlain would be Bondsmithing. I also thought Lirin would be killed off.
  17. There has been a bunch of Chana-hunts over the years. The most popular theory is that she is Liss, the assassin Jasnah employs at the start of WoR. I personally think that she is Vedel, if she is a Herald at all. Another theory that popped up was that she was the prostitute Adolin saved in WoK. I have never seen that theory that she is Shallans mother though. It is interesting, but I doubt that would be the case. Partially because Shallans mother seems to be affiliated with the Skybreakers, and thus presumably known to Nale. And Nale might be insane, but I doubt that he would leave Chana/another Herald trapped in a safe in Lin Davars home. Furthermore, Heralds are physical manifestations of cognitive shadows. I don't know if they can have children. If this was the case, Jasnah would have recognized Challan based on Hoids drawings. And we would also have to explain why Challan appeared as a ten year old girl, when her real appearance seems to be somewhere in the 25-35 range based on the art that we have.
  18. First off, the Ghostbloods really aren't a crappy organization. They appear to actually know how to find Yolen, which I think not even Khriss has figured out. They have also assassinated several highprinces and would have had Jasnah killed if she hadn't been able to teleport. Add in that know much more about what is going on on Roshar than any of our main cast of characters except Hoid, Taravangian and maaaybe Jasnah. The Ghostbloods are defenitely the most powerful and dangerous of the secret societies, which does say something, considering that both The Diagram and the Skybreakers have a record of getting stuff done. And the black-marketeering of investiture is probably not their endgame. It does make sense for Kelsier as a sub-goal however. He is a thief, and knows first-hand the importance of resources and monopoly when it comes to achieving power. Plus, Kelsier would black-market stuff just for shits and giggles. He likes being the genius who plans ahead, he likes dealing with criminal elements, he enjoys being the scoundrel and the rogue. So yes, it does defenitely make sense for Kelsier to be running the Ghostbloods. I do however disagree with this statement. Kelsier is not a straight-up villain. He has the capacity to care for people. Sure, he fought the Lord Ruler to show off, and to be worshipped, but also because he genuinely loved Mare and wanted a world in which her dreams would be realized. He genuinely loved Vin, since he saved Elend, a noble, for her sake. He genuinely cared for his brother, and for the skaa who were slaughtered. So no, Kelsier isn't a villain, but he isn't a hero either. He is in between, which is what makes him so fascinating in the first place.
  19. If it weren't against the rules, I'd create another account on here just to be able to upvote this twice.
  20. Oh yeah, I know all of it. Just kept it vague in case OP wasn't 100% aware of Azures and Zahels stories.
  21. *Kaladin - Ascends to take Honor. I know, very crackpot, but Dalinar doing it is too storming obvious, and someone will. *Shallan - Dies in a spectacular and self-sacrificing fashion. *Dalinar - The "you will be a Fused-clause" is too ominous to not be happening. Dalinar will totally become a Fused. *Adolin - I have always thought that he would die eventually, so he'll probably survive, and become an important general in the back five. *Szeth - Will probably die. I don't think he has much to do in the back-half, and we will be losing characters. *Venli - No idea how she will factor into the plot, but her reuniting with Eshonai in the Beyond sounds like a great way for her story to end, so I'll say that she dies in Book 5. *Navani - Survives, and continues to act as the lady who gets Urithiru to work in the back five. *Jasnah, Renarin, Lift, Taln, Ash - Lives, will be super-important in the back five. *Mraize - Dies, just to show that he wasn't really that important and the Ghostbloods are a MUCH bigger threat than him (hope he lives though, but I don't think that is happening). *Nale - Will defy all odds and make it to the back five. Brandon is a huge Les Miserables fan, and Nale is way too much of a Javert to go down halfway through the series. *Rlain - Will survive and lead the Singers in Venlis stead. *Taravangian - Will stay Odiuos way into the back-half, and possibly longer than that. *Rysn - Will live and be an important supporting character in Book 6-10. She will ride a lanceryn. *Hoid - Will keep on hoidin´. *Moash - No way he lives past Book 5. He will die, and Ash will be the one to kill him, for murdering Jezrien.
  22. He has his wierd color metaphors that no one gets (just like Azure) and knows about Nightblood.
  23. I think Oathbringer worked very well in this regard: it wasn't always a complete break, and gave interesting insights in the minds of various important characters. But I also like the "lets spend five pages on this random character you won't ever see again"-interludes. They showcase Roshar, and also lead to quite a lot of interesting discussions. The three worldhoppers from Ishikks interlude, Cusicesh from Axies, larkins and Shinovar from Rysn, Shalash and the Nightwatcher from Baxil, and so on. So yeah, I miss them. And if we are going to have Interludes from characters we know, I prefer it to be characters we don't see POVs from otherwise. Give us a Mraize interlude. A Nale interlude. A Leshwi interlude. And also, bring back Axies!
  24. In that scenario he would die multiple days. Which, for some members of the fandom, would be very appreciated.
  25. Kelsier wouldn't risk his life for Taravangians sake in a fight that he has zero investment in. Furthermore, I don't think Kelsier likes Shards in general, so I doubt he would fight for any one of them unless their goals happened to align perfectly. Furthermore, Kelsier would be an out-of-the-left-field choice for everyone who hasn't read Mistborn. Nale fights for the Singers, not for Odium. I doubt he would be willing to become Odiums Champion. Furthermore, I think Szeth and Nale has too little of a setup to work as the major climactic showdown for Book 5. His fighting skills being awesome is also an argument against him: having any of the main characters becoming that awesome at fighting in ten days would be very much a stretch. Unless, that is, they manage to restore Taln, and have him fight Nale, but then we have the same issue as with Szeth/Nale: that conflict hasnt been built up enough.
