Deviations from the source material
Toaster Retribution posted a topic in General Brandon Discussion
So, movies based on books will always deviate a bit from the source material, and so will eventual adaptions of Brandons books. The question I want to ask is, what level of deviation from the original work could you guys tolerate? What would be too much, and ruin a hypothetical movie? -
WoR did have Shallan, so I guess Dalinar would make sense here.
-
The idea of Sebarial gliding around and blowing stuff up felt like a fun idea :-) This Vaylin character sounds interesting, where is she from? Might want to check it out. I haven't seen to many of those kinds of storylines.
-
Vivenna is a drab at one point. I dont remember if she mentions anything about color auras then.
-
Sebarial was a joke (apparently a pretty bad one). My bad. @The One Who Connects I'm pretty sure Moash will get a redemption arc, and become a Radiant at the end. Redemption arcs may be an overused trope (personally I dont mind them if they are well-executed), but I just have a feeling we will get one from Moash.
-
Calling it now, Sebarial will be a Dustbringer. You heard it here first. About the Honorblade, I think it was @maxal who had a pretty cool idea about Elhokar receiving it, but I might recall incorrectly. When it comes to Radiants, I'm going to guess that Rysn, Eshonai Szeth (technically he isnt a Skybreaker yet) and Moash ends up as Radiants. I can also see a balance problem here. Due to the "end before destination" thingy the Diagram and the Sons of Honor have going on, them receiving Radiants feel unlikely. But if they are going to have showdowns with Dalinar & co, they will be stomped pretty fast. In order to even the odds they need either some Radiants of their own (which would mean people like Amaram, Mr. T, Graves and others getting powers), or they need some other kind of magical weapon to handle the Radiants.

Entertainment Reviews(and Debate)

Those kinds of things are fun. The only reason I look forward to the next Fifty Shades is because I want to see Jeremy Jahns destroy it (with all due respect to Fifty Shades fans, but I just cant see why anyone would want to watch them). -
-Favorite book: Dunno, probably tie between OotP, HBP and DH. -Favorite character: Fred Weasley. -House: I was a Hufflepuff, I believe. -Movie: Fantastic Beasts and PoA are the only ones that are good in my opinion.
-
@Oversleep thanks for the link. I've sent the picture to them. Dunno if they will answer though.
-
@Oversleep I told them that. They dont care, apparently. EDIT: Not that marriage is a religious ceremony, but the whole state union thing. They seem to want specifically marriage for some reason.

I do think that the authors views matter somewhat (I would never buy a book if the author was a nazi). That said, I hate when people judge others for having differing opinions. I have more to say about this subject, but I put it in a spoiler tag because I went long. I hope what is in that spoiler tag is at least somewhat understandable to the people who read it. I´m not sure how controversial it was, or wether it made sense (English is my second language).

Odium likes 9, 9 Heralds?...
Toaster Retribution replied to Djarskublar's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Never heard of that WoB before, thanks! But then, maybe the number nine is significant because of the Heralds, and not the other way around. I find that more likely, since I doubt that Odium knew beforehand that exactly nine Heralds would survive the battle. -

From where do we know that 9 is a number significant to Odium? -
She plays Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy as well. Although that is probably not how she will look or act as Shallan.

The morality of Adolin's actions
Toaster Retribution replied to WhiteLeeopard's topic in Stormlight Archive
She might have a power issue, tbh. Women are generally not that powerful in Alethkar (look at Navani). It would be strange if she became "highprincess". I believe that she will be trouble, but not on the "in-your-face" level of Sadeas. Instead, she will probably hide in the shadows and strike when she gets an opportunity. But when she strikes, it's going to hurt. The only in-your-face thing I can see her do is trying to make the other highprinces rally against the Kholins. I doubt that will be a great success though. -
I think Stick is part of a hivemind of Sticks, all spread out over the Cosmere, gathering intelligence for their mother: the tree Vivenna practices Awakening with in Warbreaker.

The morality of Adolin's actions
Toaster Retribution replied to WhiteLeeopard's topic in Stormlight Archive
Have faith in Brandon. I think this will be much more than legal proceedings and bickering highprinces. This will probably add great drama and character development for both Adolin and Dalinar, and, depending on the results of the legal proceedings, have long lasting consequences on the Kholin family and their allies. It will push the story forwards in lots of ways. And also, with Thunderclasts storming cities and Kaladin hanging out in Hearthstone, as well as secret societies, Szeth in Shinovar, Interludes, Dalinar flashbacks, and a lot of things we can't see coming, you will probably see a lot of Desolations and Radiants. -
Entertainment Reviews(and Debate)

I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Cursed Child. Havent read it myself though. Ironic how I originally thought that it would be great, and Fantastic Beasts would be awful. It turned out being the opposite, apparently. Although am I the only one who hated that (Fantastic Beasts spoilers): -
I dont find that likely. Since he was in the physical realm when he died, he shouldnt be able to, at the same time, be in the CR (correct me if I'm wrong here, my realmatics aren't the best). And ignoring that, if Suit knew how to just switch between realms, he would probably have done it a lot earlier. It is fully possible that he is doing something fun in CR as a deadman though.

Oh, thanks for the info. Thought this was for Oathbringer.

We will get a new Windrunner. I believe there is a WoB on this. Maybe its Roshone? That would make Kaladins story much more interesting.

The morality of Adolin's actions
Toaster Retribution replied to WhiteLeeopard's topic in Stormlight Archive
I just have a feeling this wont happen. There will still be people going after Adolin, even if Aladar and Sebarial doesnt. Actually, there is a possibility that Adolin might be seen as unworthy of successing because of the murder. Dalinar will probably be disappointed by it. So I think that either, Dalinar will keep on being the Kholin Highprince, or Elhokar will take control over the family. I could even see Navani doing it, tbh. -

About those 8 highprinces, wonder if Aladar and Sebarial will be that eager to judge Adolin. Aladar is fully aware of, and disliked Sadeas douchiness, and Sebarial is... well, Sebarial. Oh, and also, Roion is dead, so that makes it at least seven.
